Appreciate the suggestion of a rainy day fund but I thought the SMiSA packages that cost a few grand a time were created solely for that purpose.
Disabled platform is a good idea. Failing that it should be on something that will generate more money for the club in the long term, such as an extra member of staff for the commercial or marketing departments (if the latter even exists). Or we could spend it on a running track and a coffee shop

I too watched the EFL coverage on Channel 5 on Saturday night as the wife was oot. The regular pundit is ex-Saint Chris Iwelumo who seemed very well versed in the English lower leagues. In fact, every time the presenters highlighted a player or even mentioned one big Chris's stock reply seemed to be "Good lad, excellent professional. I played with him at ..............................? He phoned/texted me this week and we .....", or words to that effect. It seemed a bit far fetched so I checked and he played for 14 different clubs in England and a further 4 in Scotland and the continent. Can't we get him as our scout south of the border?

I would imagine that 'profit' or lack of... Is the reason both club and 1877 bods are concerned. Despite the club putting in tens of thousands, and the members contributing the inference is that it is not making money???
when the staff, electric, rates, water, rent (if any), stock and general upkeep bills are paid is there a positive entry each week in the P&L statement? To be clear I have no idea what the turnover is and what if any profit remains after bills are paid. But i do know what a successful retail unit looks like from the outside.
anyone can spend money, any fool can give stuff away, but retail is detail... And that is what must be considered before during and after every action is suggested, taken or ignored.

Is that not part of the problem with this "club" though. There is no constitution, no committee, and as far as I can make out no AGM. There's no mechanism for members to vote for change whether that's to the admission policy or to the brewery they use. It looks like the person running it is Campbell Kennedy.

I haven't touched a Sunday Post for years but I was actually quite moved when I saw Oor Wullie emblazoned on the front page today sitting on his pail , his face a picture of grief. As you know cartoonists the world over are doing cartoons in sympathy and in support of the guys murdered in Paris this week. Well done Sunday Post. Not sure if it's a Dudley D. original reproduced or a new one. Wish I'd bought it and in fact I think I'll go back and do just that.
