  1. I don't necessarily agree with agents playing clubs off each especially if they have no intention of their clients ever going to a club but understand that it goes on in this day when money is tight and getting the best deal possible is key. However agents have to tread carefully as Scottish football is a small world and I guess if you get a reputation for messing clubs about then surely and unless there is perfect signing out there, Alex and St Mirren and probably the rest of the clubs on limited and precious budgets just stop answering their calls until they stop it. The power remains on the club side every time. End of day, players who want to play for St. Mirren will undoubtedly find the right deal that works with or without an agent's interference or meddling.
  2. Poor game from 2 very average teams but good to see us grind out a result without ever looking like conceding or getting out of 2nd gear. 3 pts and 4th position may actually be a possibility. 1 real negative - decided to take my son and I and watch match in west stand instead of family stand. Never again!! The language and the attitude of fans sitting around us was abysmal and pretty disgusting and they were on the backs of the players at every opportunity- no wonder the gust don't play with any confidence with this support (or rather a few idiots)
  3. Murray should definitely take the blame for tactics and shape of team and the fact we are not pressing higher up the park - however how many corners did we have that was simply a lump into the box?? Surely as professional footballers once they cross the line they need to have a bit of savvy to be able to understand that it's not working, why don't we mix it up - short corner or front post?? It seems like we are not capable of changing things or more importantly quickly realising this isn't working and we need to score a goal. Same goes with our very experienced goalie....lets play the ball out to full back and build from back or down the side (where actually we were getting some joy) than just lumping it up the park! Murray won't get sacked but he really needs to start delivering on what is a horrendous start to season before we become cast away from even mid table and get in a dog fight with the bottom two for playoff. St Mirren are not too good to go down - that's surely the wake up call for these players that cross the line EVERY game!!!
  4. He should have scored the penalty. It was a crucial time of the game and with his experience he knew that. So very disappointed. However that aside and the fact he was playing a very difficult role on his own up front, it is difficult to be overly critical. He did win a fair share of headers. Sadly any coordinated and concentrated attacks did not include Thompson and he seemed very much a bystander and didn't seem to be able to make himself available to run off or even play the killer pass and it's for that reason I would say that we need younger legs and a change upfront.
  5. Not much to add to what has already been said but an absolute shocking state of affairs. JD are a shambles and show scant regards to their customers and client (St. Mirren football club). Certainly if I did this to my clients, I would be fired. End of the matter. Disgrace. No signage whatsoever in the limited number of stores that the strip was actually coming out and the sales assistants were clueless. I also hold St Mirren responsible for this shambles. Surely not enough money could really paper over the complete mess that the club have let happen and the disillusionment caused by this especially amongst the young supporters who want to be wearing the new strip. This certainly shows a lack of disregard by the board for the fans that we can't guarantee that we get this side of the club right....someone has definitely been sleeping on the job.
  6. I think how St Johnstone have continued to push for a top 6 position that someone from their management team that knows how to develop young talent is worth a shout...someone like Alex Cleland won't be a bad appointment as I know he is their nos 3 coach and would fancy the move up to a top job. Teale can stay on and assist.
