And Dundee will continue to be worse than us until they change managerThat was disappointing, however, it’s going to be a long road until we are in any sort of decent shape. We simply don’t have good enough players and OK needs to find a way to make us more competitive with what he has at his disposal.
All of the players who weren’t here last year are a downgrade on what we had in a lower division and those who were here are struggling with the step up.
Doesn’t help losing key players to injury as we’re so light at certain positions but we just have to keep going and try to eke some points out of somewhere to stay ahead of Dundee. -
Bad day at Hamilton.Horrible Hamilton, a pitch not acceptable, possibly contributed some excuses but not across 90 mins.
Humbled at Hamilton
Humiliated at Hamilton
Hammered at Hamilton
Hopeless at Hamilton
Certainly not a good ol Happy at Hamilton
Typical St mirren -
Interesting. Have not been to any games yet this season so cannot talk with any accuracy, however, this is the first time I have seen criticism of S McGinn - and perhaps this is warranted.Terrible performance after the 1st goal the team gave up.
Really disappointed in Stephen McGinn today.
Thought Kirkpatrick was the wrong sub to make also.
He was a stand out last year and needs to maintain that level this season. Or be dropped. -
Did the plastic pitch play a part ?Don't panic Mr Mannering - at least not yet!
Can we put this down to just one of these days? After all, we had lost 3 players after 31 minutes from what would have been our starting lineup (not to mention those that are already on the injured list).
Or are we really as bad as Elvis makes out? -
I don't think so. OK will get this sorted and while we will be bottom 6, we will not be bottom, or 11th. (Thank you Dundee!)Would take 11th now for sure.
Barring a miracle it’s between us and and Dundee for 12th.
The fear is they will surely outspend us in January. We can’t have much cash left after the Stubbs/Jackson debacle.
What a mess Scott has made of things. -
I think losing till Livingston at home was a worse result. Not just becausr of the result, but the performance.Wasn’t at that today thankfully, by f**k that’s a shocking scoreline. Pumped by Accies? Accies??
That’s our worst result of the season for sure.
The football club’s in a fair shambles clearly. Let’s hope Gus can sort it out before it’s too late. -
Hope it's not AntonDiv saying a change likely due to an injury in training. -
Not sure I'd be happy with a draw, although I'd probably settle for that right now.Happy with a draw....delighted if we win
gutted if we lose
Will be delighted with a win though ! -
Agree. I dot believe all Stubbs signings to be bad. I'm sure some will flourish into good players (for us) under the guidance of our new management team. Not getting carried away...... you are referencing team selection as a huge difference between Stubbs and OK when OK has only picked one team!
Too early to judge anything especially when the only evidence is one good half against Celtic.
We have a squad that is very imbalanced and we will need to rely on some of Stubbs signings along the way. -
I do feel good. Actually, I'd feel a bit better if I hadn't stayed up til the wee small hours drinking. Should've gone to bed when I finished the last can in the fridge rather than move onto bottles...Back to Football... This brings on the Feel Good Factor

Faults on both sides. Time now for everyone to draw a line under this and move on.
3-1 Saints (Mullen, Smith, Flynn)

This is fantast news and a win/win deal.
He has a great future in the game and we can provide the initial platform for him.
Further encouragement for future youngsters to choose us ahead of others. -
Back on topic...
I felt great at the end of last season (for approx 18mnths)
I did not feel good after first 4 games this season
I felt absolutely fantastic after last Friday
I feel good about tomorrow
I feel good about the rest of the season

With Oran given the weekend to sort his shit out, brace yourselves for Dundee bagging McCann, and their CEO rowing over to Coleraine to gazump us..!
Surely Kenny Miller’s in line for that gig ?

Just heard that part of the deal involves us getting James Nesbitt as a celebrity fan.
To be reunited with Chris Brookmyre (Quite Ugly One Morning) ?

Indeed, what about him ?What about him? -
I feel sorry for Stubbs. However, I also feel for his signings. They are not all bad, and now have to prove themselves to a new manager. Was shocked when I heard the news last night, mainly due to Stubbs having a 3 year contract, but having time to think about it, it has to be the right call.
I was initially positive about his appointment, so can’t be too critical of the BoD. They made a mistake, especially the length of contract, but they have acted quickly and are trying to fix it ASAP. He’s left some mess behind for whatever brave soul comes in to sort it.
Can’t think of anything positive about Stubbs’ time with us. His shocking recruitment and the horrendous organisation of the team, especially at the back was embarrassing. We can only speculate what things were like in the changing room, but it looked like he’d completely lost any connection or bond with the players, if he ever had one. Seems to have been a polar opposite from Jack Ross.
His body language and lack of energy was really poor and he reminded me of Rae, not taking responsibility for the team’s shortcomings and blaming it all on the players. His heart never seemed in it and he looked totally out of his depth; clueless.
Jim McIntyre for me, to replace him. Good experience and unlucky to get the bullet at County. Was really worried that Utd would get him last season as McKinnon’s replacement.
My overall feeling, now he’s gone is relief.
Onwards and upwards.
I expect a good few of them to excel under a new manger.
And we will avoid relegation -
He'd allow us to bring Shankland. ....I like him. He was a bit full of himself when younger but seems to be a very knowledgeable football guy. He will not leave Ayr so pointless speculating.
-
So is Goodie....Main one that caught my eye was Youssef Toutouh, Would be a great signing, and a left midfielder. I'm really holding out for some free agent signings now -
Haven't looked at it, but would be interesting to see how our results compared with Livingston over the last quarter. I think they played catch up pretty well over that period. And have carried on the good form. Its hard to believe we won the league and Livi were second when you look at how both teams are now. We are in a total mess.

I do believe someone has already dine this on another thread. (Really heavy on CM and nothing on LM)

Genuine question. Do we now have 2 players challenging for each place in a 22 man squad?
Outside of goalkeeper, do we know what the positions are ? Perhaps we don’t need a left sided midfielder or pacy winger ...
-
You are not alone there. If not do we have any centre halves with a frustrated striker in them ‘a l’a Paul Warhurst during his Sheffield Wednesday days [emoji3] I know sorry pointless post just beginning to clutch at straws now. -
Is the deadline midnight or earlier ?Sure I am amongst many in thinking we are desperately short of the ability both to stop and score goals. Tomorrow needs to deliver players who can address both problems.
