Thoroughly enjoyed the match yesterday. While the opposition were not necessarily top drawer you still have to beat what's in front of you. There were plenty of good things to see - midfielders pushing up to support the front line and getting into scoring positions, as evidenced by the number of different scorers we had. But the biggest plus for me was the performance of Gregor Buchanan - he won absolutely everything in the air and, while his distribution needs a bit of work, I look forward to seeing him partner Gary when the season proper gets underway. I see that partnership being solid at the back with both posing a goal threat at the other end. Bring on Dundee.
Also good to see most of our squad getting a run out. They all looked sharp.
Special word of appreciation for Stelios, not only did he score a terrific goal, but he looked hungry and motivated as soon as he was brought on. I think he'll be a huge problem for opposition defences this season. At FT he came over to the travelling fans, shook hands, thanked the support and posed for selfies - maverick or legend ? Total gent.
COYS !
