  1. Well doesn’t look like we’ll be going to the game tomorrow.

Phoned Livi this morning, and told they’d delivered all tickets to us so I’d need to contact our club.

Phoned ticket office, voicemail, left name and number but like many others on here, nobody has called.

So I Emailed the ticket office, and to the surprise of absolutely no one , no one has replied.

    Gutted.

After a follow up phone call and second voicemail message I have just received the promised call back. All good now and about to order tickets online.

    Thank you Weebud

  3. Tait is currently a better defender than Naismith ever was or ever will be. I simply cannot believe that some folk want to replace Tait never mind with Jason Naismith.

I never get the obsession with bringing back former players at the best of times but Naismith just isn't very good. Never looked anything but the level of the other RC defenders any time we played them. We need to show more ambition. If we want to replace a player it has to be with an upgrade. In the case of Tait imo that would be very difficult in our wage structure.

For me, Tait is one of our best, and most versatile, players and I would not be looking to replace him, without consideration to our current wage structure.
  4. Liam Polworth getting released by Motherwell and only 26, was a brilliant player before and maybe just needs a new challenge.
Trust Goodwin would get the best out of him [emoji106]

I’ve always liked Polworth. I can’t believe he’s only 26, with plenty experience, and just the kind of player we could do with in midfield.
  5. I’m sure JG will already have a number of targets lined up and who he pursues will be dependent on which of our out of contract players accept our offers to extend their stay or decide to leave.

T JG e good news is that it’s unlikely to be a huge turnover of players that we’ve had in prior years, however, that doesn’t mean I’ll be any less frustrated at the lack of news or rumours on players signing than before.

  6. Was browsing P & B and came across this on the Livingston thread, as someone was discussing the refusal of their UEFA Licence.
Seems that we've been refused too. I wonder why.
Next review scheduled for 2022. So, even in the unlikely event of us winning the cup, looks like we wouldn't be able to take our place.

No idea what this is about.

Never heard of this ranking before, or seen this schedule, however, if I’m reading it correctly, Accies and Livi have had their licenses refused, but the committee will be reviewing again in June 2021 a and Hibs in September.

Why wouldn’t they be reviewing ours too ?

Gold award but UEFA License refused ?

Expect one of our much more knowledgeable forum members will explain it all later.

  7. They'll almost certainly quadruple his wages (perhaps even more) and they may even build a team around him if they think he's that good.
He'll also be playing European football.
No way is that a backwards move from where he is right now.

Is this the same Aberdeen who couldn’t match our offer to Brophy ?

    Let’s just agree to disagree.
  8. My point was more that if we have ambition to be a top 6 side which our board keep saying, we won’t get there by selling our best players to others in that category. We can’t compete with wages of the ugly sister which is why if they start showing an interest we can’t do much but rather than using hibs or Aberdeen as stepping stones to English football we have to inspire players with a vision they can use use as the stepping stone to the EPL. I know it’s changed days but Tony harps back to the early 80’s, well in those days Mcgarvey, McAvennie and Clarke didn’t need to go from us to another Scottish team to get their move to England. I fully appreciate we are selling the vision to players of using us as a stepping stone in their careers but please not to Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen etc.

Agree. And I’d be particularly disappointed if he went to Aberdeen as part of the great Glass project which I think will take at least a season to get off the ground.
We will be a selling club, but if he does go to further his career, I’d hope it would be directly to England and they pay us a decent fee - and a lucrative sell on clause.

IMHO Moving to Aberdeen this summer would be a backward step for his career.
