Good luck to him and hopefully bangs in a few goals and gets plenty game time and experience, plenty time to develop.

Indeed.
Imagine a club putting a young player out on loan to further develop his skills and to give him more playing experience.
It will never catch on.........

21 years old, plenty of time to develop into a decent player for us.
Assuming he’ll still be training with us most days considering Alloa are part time. Hopefully bangs a few goals in and comes back to us full of confidence. Nae danger.

Definitely a wise move. Needs the game time to improve, hopefully he can kick on next season.

Great move for him, think Kirkpatrick could benefit from similar.

Getting £300k and a loan back till the end of the season is probably about the best we could have hoped for (especially since £200k bids were coming in when he had a full year on his contract).
He could have sat tight and then walked for £0 at then end of the season.
He's probably done the best for himself whilst at the same time trying to leave the club something.
All in all it's a good compromise.
Then again - you know what they say about a good compromise... :-)

Morgan has ambition a very talented player who keeps getting man of the match for the Scotland under 21's Rogers is a great manager Morgan will make the grade no doubt about it.

And what a contrast to the situation at Falkirk FC who have just axed their Forth Valley Academy. Selling young players that don't want to renew their contract with us, for what is decent money, is good business for Saints. As you say munoz, let's hope the conveyor belt continues. That's what really matters.

If he's with us til the end of the season I doubt that will be a factor. He's already listed as our player for the Scottish Cup

I wish him all the best and I think if reports are correct that he wanted to give something back to us for giving him a platform then that's commendable.
Would he able to play against them in the Scottish Cup after we pump Aberdeen? Because he'll be Cup Tied for them. Just a thought.

turrabuddie reacted to Sonny in Liam Smith - 1 year loan
On-loan St Mirren star Liam Smith hopes he won’t be driving home this Christmas – because he wants to stay at Saints all season.
The full-back is on loan from Hearts having a penned a season-long deal in August. However, the Jambos hold the right to recall the Scotland Under-21 internationalist in the coming weeks.
Hearts have already put the buffers on Smith featuring for the Buddies in the Scottish Cup so he doesn’t get cup-tied, however Smith is adamant that he wants to stay with Jack Ross’ side as they look to continue their promotion push.
Smith told the Paisley Daily Express: “From my point of view, I am playing games here and playing in a team challenging for a title and I wouldn’t want to leave that.
“I don’t think Hearts could guarantee that I would play the same amount of games that I am getting here. The main reason I came on loan to St Mirren was to get games so, to me, there is no point in that stopping half way through the season.
“There is a clause in the deal that they have a certain amount of time to recall me – we are just trying to sort that out at the moment and find out what they are planning on doing.
“They send people to watch me most weeks and I get contact from them now and again. I know they watch clips of the games and things like that. I’m just looking to do well in every game for St Mirren, that is my main focus at the moment.”
Smith has been a staple of a St Mirren side that continues to be in impressive form this season.
Saturday’s 1-0 win at the expense of Dunfermline moved the Buddies back to the top of the league after Dundee United’s clash with Queen of the South was abandoned at half-time in Dumfries.
He insists the mood in the camp is a positive one as they too prepare themselves for a jaunt to Palmerston to face Queens this Saturday. And with the opportunity to see in Santa at the top of the table, the 21-year-old says hopes are high.
He added: “We went into the game looking for the three points on Saturday and we knew there was a possibility that it could take us back to the top of the league. All in all, I think it is a great win for us against a very difficult side to beat.
“Our form shows the sort of resilience and determination that we have as a squad to go on and achieve something this year. When you look at the run of games we have, you quickly realise you don’t have an easy game in this league.
“We spoke before the game and something we said was if we won then it would open up a bigger gap between us and Dunfermline.
“Every game that comes, you are looking to push yourself further up and knock the teams around you further away.”

I'll take any win at this stage of the season. Given the Pars keeper should have been sent off early doors we still did enough to get over the line.

Great result given how much pressure we were put under. Have faith that jack will move to address midfield weaknesses ahead of run in. Winning games when you are not at your best is a sign of a confident and league winning team in the making. Coys

It's a win but we really need to heed the warning signs here.
McGinn, McShane and Magennis are not contributing enough in the middle of the park and - while I hate to agree with Elvis - it is true we are being bossed by mediocre teams now.
I really hope we have some midfield reinforcements coming in for the second half of the season. We are in a great position and have tremendous attacking options in Morgan and Smith, we need to make sure we have a midfield that can dictate the flow of games if we are going to finish ahead of United.

Strong looking and skillful. The time could be right for him, here's hoping he does well whenever he comes back.

12 points clear of Dunfermline - what has happened to them? Who cares
Now we need Utd and QOS to go on similar runs to them, while we streak away into the distance...
Good fight in us today and another clean sheet.. also great to see Mullen and McPherson getting into the action too..
