  1. Sorry mate but I've lost the will to live, i'm out
  2. Oh yes they did. They started immediately Alan Stubbs walked in the door at St Mirren. There is no doub't we would have had a tough time in the Premiership under JR but he would never have brought in the junk that Stubbs brought nor have come close to the man management levels of Stubbs. A lot of people getting carried away last season including a CEO. Under JR I think we would have the Jackson, Ferdinand type recruitment and JR also had the personality to attract players. There is no comparison between Jack Ross and Alan Stubbs.
  3. Stubbs signed 11 players, all failures IMO, hardly Jack Ross's fault ! Oran Kearney has signed 3, 2 of which are of standard and another in Hamill who is, but is underperforming due to an attitude problem that has followed him throught his career.
  4. “Now it’s Oran (Kearney). It’s his players now and he has to get on with it and try and get results out of them." Bet Oran's delighted with what you left Alan !. Thanks a bunch !
  5. I couldn't agree more but I can't see how this can be landed at Oran Kearney's door. He hasn't a hope in hell of turning it round at the moment. He is about to take all the venom thrown at him that Stubbs should have got. McIntrye who I rate highly as a coach is struggling so far too. Not his fault at all just what he has to work with. With McIntrye at RC and JR at SMFC with their great escapes it wasn't until Feb time that things started to click so Kearney 100% needs the time. Why we never appointed Jim McIntrye in the summer out of the 4 interviewed I'll never know.
  6. I agree. I think we need to give Oran Kearney the chance he deserves. I personally am a long way from judging him as I think he has been left an utter shambles. I think the club is in an utter mess at the moment. A lot of it is down to what Jack Ross built and what we lost when he left. Unless it becomes a total shambles I think we should give Kearney the rest of this season and go with him next season even if relegated. I like Kearney and I think he comes across well, I also have a feeling he knows what he's doing but what he has to work with currently is a disaster, with a team that would be lucky to be mid table Championship. He's recruitment so far has been decent with just out of contract players. He hasn't even had a window. He'll have a difficult time in the window also recruiting player to SMFC and getting rid of Stubbs junk who nobody will want. So I think we need to cut Kearney a good bit of slack !
  7. I think they were impressed with Kearney first time round but got dazzled with Stubbs's cup win and his time at Everton's academy !. He had never managed in the Premiership, failed completely to get Hibs out of Championship or even to a play-off final and was a disaster at Rotherham. Interesting that Everton never gave us ONE player from their academy. Kearney has a recommendation from Michael O'Neil whom SMFC courted initially and had also achieved quite a bit at Coleraine so was ripe for a move to a higher level.
  8. I think we are long way form saying that Oran Kearney was a stupid decision. Alan Stubbs was and if the board had done their homework on him we currently wouldn't be in the position we currently find ourselves.
  9. I agree. I cant see how any combination of this current squad is going to get a couple of wins before Xmas but having said that we put in passable performances against Hibs and Killie at home. Last night was a disgrace from start to finish. I think Kearney is desperately trying to find a combination of the squad and formation that will buy him time to Jan but I don't think he's found it so far and won't ! Also assessing whole squad not just in training but in competitive matches in order to determine who to shift in Jan. Jan is massive for us and best I can see is getting is 11th, I think Dundee will improve under McIntyre and pull away from us. Having said that I didn't think much of Motherwell last night either and wouldn't rule them out of a relegation battle also.
  10. Thats what is going to take to turn this squad round. Similar to what Jack Ross did when he came in. Kearney has brought in Jackson and Ferdinand who are both big improvements on what Stubbs ever brought. Hammill hasnt cut it so far. ALL of Stubbs signings have been a total disaster and we are paying a heavy price for it. Stubbs was an umitigated disaster of an appointment in every aspect of football management, Kearney knows the standard required as does Gus and if appointed Jimmy Nichol, so we need to somehow get a couple of wins before Jan, stay in touch and see what we can do in Jan.
  11. With the current squad, yes impossible task IMO. Needs huge backing in January to build a squad capable of staying up If he gets that backing then we can judge Kearney properly. At the moment he has been left a mess. Problem is if we go down is Kearney the man to take us up again. Not sure on that one ? Personally wouldn't have appointed Kearney, I think Dundee have made the right appointment. At the moment I think we look certainties for the drop but there is plenty of time to change that.
  12. What you mean is that's your hope. No doubt you'll be wanting Stubbs back in January too.
  13. I hope your kidding me that drink had nothing to do with lobbing bricks behind our goal in the 80s ? So why introduce an element of potential risk to it now. More women and young kids of both sexes attending football than ever before. Great progress why introduce an element of risk for the sake of 90 minutes.
  14. I take it you missed the Hibs games in the 80s when they left the ground 10 minutes early to lob the biggest bricks into the standing area behind the goal at Love Street end.
  15. Its going to happen anyway whether we like it or not. Just a matter of time.
  16. The populist answer is to say yes the sensible answer is without doubt no
  17. 100% correct. That was exactly the problem with the Stubbs appointment and the board have to take responsibility for it. I think on the plus side they acted really quickly and did the right thing, so for that they deserve praise.
  18. Just my gut feel viewing the incident but I agree with you on "any bad behaviour can be almost excused as having mental health issues"
  19. I guess since we are only seeing a "snippet" of what went on then there really isn't any point in commenting on this according to you. Also if this was a black man behaving like that I am pretty much 100% certain what would have happened
  20. Saw him compared to Zippy off Rainbow which made me laugh. For me obvious mental health issue and handled badly by airline, although I expect they will learn lesson from it. Interesting though if a black man had done this to a white woman whether mental health issues would be the first response or if the airline would have handled it the same . Very much doubt it.
  21. I think your guessing that he guessed ?. For me it over the line and obvious and I'd expect a linesman to see it. All kind of abuse thrown at Collum and all wrong ? Top football referee, refereeing at the top level in Europe every season along with the team of linesmen he had yesterday.
