Although he did say, a SLIGHT percentage so it's possible that he just anticipated one, (maybe Joe or Richard), leaving.

ETA. Maybe even "Chilly D" as it was reported Aberdeen wanted him, pre season.

Both or maybe just one of, plus for me the biggie is Brophy. If we can offload him that should help.

We may sell also. Possibly Erhahon ?

We have played some excellent football this season but today wasn't one of them. But sometimes you have to win ugly and this was ugly but a great 3 points.

You can't blame a manager for not changing a winning team but I was delighted for Greive today. When he came on against the fakes he done more than Main and Ayunga had done in the previous 75 mins. And today he took his chance when he got it. Hope we see more of him.

Good to see Grieve score and perform well but I'd play Main and Ayunga every week before him just now. Grieve for me has more goals in him than Brophy and will develop

Today showed for me how much Main has improved since Robinson came in. We missed him today.

I've stood up for him constantly but think it may be a case of both parties being ready to move on in January if the constant lack of availability continues.

Brophy needs games, we need Brophy fit and avaiailbe to play. Neither the club nor the player are getting what they want/need currently so it might be a case of moving on being best for all parties.

I've thought for a long time we should shift Brophy. Given the standard of recruitment under Robinson i'd be confident we can do better than Brophy given the wages he is on

How many.   Besides, you don't have to be a Royalist to admire a lady who had a great love for our country and the remainder wouldn't be missed if they called it a day.

Didn't count just read the thread.

Your second sentence is the point of my post ?

With the Queen passing away in Scotland it's certainly put the spotlight on our country and people.

It's given thousands a chance to pay their respects in a way that simply wouldn't have happened had she passed away down in England.

It's shown, beyond doubt, that the Queen and the royal family have a real love for our country and that will continue with Charles holding the reins.

Aye, she was born in England but she's had feelings for our country that many who were born here don't.

I think you'll find that once society has moved on from the Queen that the Royal family will have a job on their hands in Scotland.

I would say that there would be a majority who would vote to get rid of the monarchy in Scotland with the Queen out of the picture.

The royal family as an establishment is under huge pressure to reform to a different model, possibly along the lines of Scandinavia or Holland etc.

Doubt it will happen under Charles who is part of the problem, may fall to William to modernize.

You only have to follow this thread to realize that most posters on here so far are not Royalists at all.

I have just watched the first 15 minutes of the news on BBC1. There was a brief mention of a few people booing in Edinburgh.

I have not watched much of the BBC coverage since it got too much for me to take by late Thursday, Has anyone heard any dissenting vox pops or pundits on the BBC?

I am generally a supporter of what the BBC does, but not on this occasion. I am an old guy and most of the friends and family I have talked to about this are at best lukewarm about the Royal Family and many like myself would like to see the back of them.

Am I so far out of step with the majority in this country?

I don't think you are but there is a time and a place for dissenting voices and this is probably not it ?

I agree the tv coverage is way over the top. Have to remember the BBC is under sustained attack from the right of politics so probably easier to do what they are doing.

Also think it was a really dangerous time for Starmer who so far has played it well.

Best laugh was Sturgeon having to sing God Save The King. Looked like she had a wasp in her mouth.

I was very understanding of Jack Ross going to Sunderland & thought he was unfortunate to get the bullet at Hibs, right before a cup final.

I didn’t grudge him anything in his managerial career but after jumping right in at the first job offer in the premiership after refusing the approach from us when Goodwin left, I have little sympathy now.

I have went back to an old job twice in my whole career and regretted it both times, both times it was the wrong decision even though first time round the job was great.

Indeed, it's ludicrous that there seems to be a petty minded approach to him and a pleasure in his "failures" when it's not been that bad, the recent 4 game run from United" apart.

Aye, 4 games, not omitting it's been a disastrous set of results, but, really, under 3 weeks and he get's the bullet?

As I mentioned about Bournemouth, a shocking decision and the United board, hopefully, reap what they sow.

That's a society thing, much wider than football

He had the right club for him but walked out for the quick buck. A lot richer for it no doubt.

So if Sunderland had asked you to go and manage them for a huge salary and huge potential of the club with a new owner, you'd have stayed at Greenhill Road as St Mirren manager. I suspect there isn't many like yourself ?

A CV many a manager would be proud off.  Hibs are a toxic team for a manager. Dundee Utd don't seem much better. Tam Court jumped ship very quickly and I'm wondering if there was a reason for that.

Play offs in England are a pure lottery.

He needs to find a club that is a fit for him.

Thought that at the time and would like to hear what Mellon's take on it was too.

Surprised that Ross took United job, maybe family reasons etc. Thought he would manage again in England. For me he made a bad decision all round.

I agree also that he needs to find the right club next time, that's if he wants to stay in football management.

I think Jack agrees that was his pinnacle to...

    Since then

    Lost Johnston Painter Final

Lost League one play off final

Lost Scottish Cup Final v Fakes

    Lost Semi v Fakes

Achieved equalling record for highest loss of any Scottish Team in history in Europe

Achieved highest home defeat ever for United...

Wonder if they are on his CV

Thats quite a few finals for a dud ?

3rd in the league with Hibs and the job he did at St Mirren. Fine job at Alloa too.

Things haven't worked out for Ross recently but he is far from being a dud manager.

Moyes, Bruce, O'Neill the list is endless where this kind of nonsense gets written about.

Geez there were some knee jerkers on here wanting Robinson gone.

  12. Well if I was on the board of any Scottish club outside of the top 6 in Scotland I'd take Jack Ross all day long.

Another clown American owner with no backbone.

They should have given him the time to sort it out and he would have.

Better managing a club like St J who have proper people running the club

We are too fcuking soft on the punishments handed out to these cunts.

So many innocent lives are being lost to drug dealing and the murders and domestic violence that occur as a result.

There is so much money to be made from drug dealing that it results in turf wars. We saw a huge rise in the 80s of drug gangs in Paisley with heroin, but cocaine and other class A drugs in demand.

When I first went south in the 80s I’d not seen anyone do cocaine in person apart from American movies. Then I saw it as an “executive/rich man’s” drug of choice popular with investment bankers and stockbrokers.

Over time I started to see it become readily available in the 90s and 00s (cut many times with all manner of shit) to those with a decent wage.

Now I’m seeing teenagers at the football snorting away. It’s fcuking rife now in Scotland. If I wanted to I can order drugs to my front door far quicker than a local takeaway.

People in Scotland consume roughly double the global average of cocaine in a single session – 1.2 grams compared with 0.5 grams. Perhaps that is down to purity levels.
Common cocaine additives include: Laundry detergent, Laxatives, Caffeine, Boric acid, Local anesthetics like procaine, Creatine.

These all come in a white powder form that is visually indistinguishable from the standard form of street cocaine. They are not particularly dangerous but also not something you would generally want in your body. Small particles in laundry detergent can build up in arteries and cause dangerous blockages in the heart, brain, or liver.

One of my best mates down south was a high flying IT senior executive with decades of experience. He got involved with a group who regularly did coke. He became addicted and subsequently lost his job, had to sell a beautiful home, , massive credit card debts. I could do nothing to stop him. He is now 58 years old and he can’t even recognise his own wife, children, or grandchildren as his brain is completely fcuked. Now in full time care.

The murder rate in Glasgow accounts for 19% of all homicide cases in Scotland. The murder rate stands at 5.1 per 100,000 people, which is the highest in Scotland and by extension one of the highest in Europe.

I’ve traveled to many countries in my time and one of the safest and cleanest places I ever visited was Singapore. I am choosing Singapore as the population is quite similar to Scotland as both between 5 and 6 Million.

“Singapore has a low murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 inhabitants.”

In Glasgow The murder rate stands at 5.1 per 100,000 people.

So in effect you are SEVENTEEN times more likely to get murdered in Glasgow than Singapore.

”In Singapore while robbery and robbery are nearly unheard of. This places the country as the second safest in the world, ranking second among the top ten countries with the lowest crime rates. Singapore has strict rules that go a long way toward making citizens law-abiding. Many offenses have severe punishments, such as whipping and other torturous punishments. The death penalty is also commonly utilized in this country.”

“Singapore has a reputation for being a safe, peaceful, and orderly city. In 2021, it was ranked the third safest city in the world, losing out on the top spots to Tokyo and Copenhagen. In 2021, Singapore recorded the longest period of serious crime-free days since 2015. However, “low crime does not mean no crime”, as the popular catchphrase in Singapore goes. While violent crime, theft, and crimes against persons are rare occurrences in the city-state, fraud and scams, especially those occurring online, are on the rise.

Singapore is able to keep its crime rate low by enforcing strict laws and punishments on those who break the law, as well as having a sophisticated system of surveillance. From the high fines for littering to the use of capital punishment for crimes such as drug trafficking and homicide, such measures seem to be an effective deterrent to would-be transgressors. Despite the criticisms from various human rights organizations, Singapore still carries out capital punishment for crimes such as drug trafficking and murder. The harsh penalties imposed on crimes related to drug abuse are also apparent when looking at the Singapore prison population: in 2021, more than two-thirds of the inmate population were there for drug offenses.”

I think if i was looking for your solution i'd prefer to look at Copenhagen ???

I believe it was the referees first Premiership match I thought he actually did verywell. Much better than some of the experienced ones we hermits weeks.

Yes i thought he was outstanding.

Also the ref we had for RC game Grant Irvine who i've seen a good few times now was outstanding.

Putting a bit of balance into the trash a ref week that we have had. Although not all of it undeserved
