Indeed, I think the Djorkaeff deal is done and we seem to be looking at another one or two.
I assume that Erhanon and MacPherson are being considered as full backs.
A few signings are apparently going to be announced tomorrow and as you point out the crisis areas are certainly not centre midfield. Losing Popescu is a problem, neither Baird or MacKenzie can pass a ball. We have one full back good enough for this level. No wide men. One striker that is good enough in Danny Mullen. If we are only bringing in another 5 then we have got to pray for 100% success rate from these new faces.
It's another mess of our own creation really.
 
eta; I am aware Popescu's passing isn't the best but he did provide the option of running the ball out of defence. Looking at the current team I struggle to see how we are going to get the ball out from the back effectively.

Another season, another reason for supporting St Mirren to paraphrase an old song. What a start - 2nd close season in a row we lose a winning manager who was popular with the fans. This time however we bring back the Club Ledgend that is Jim Goodwin. So how will we do in cups and in the league? 
League Cup - I predict we will top our group.
League - I predict we will be 8th.
Cup - I predict that we make it through two rounds.
Are you any more hopeful or are you more fearfull.

I KNOW pre season friendlies are literally meaningless.
I KNOW that players are still getting up to speed,,,,
BUT,
surely to f**k it is slightly worrying when a squad that comprises generally our “top boys” with a few unknowns chucked in, need a penalty kick to beat a Belfast pub team and are struggling to beat Stenhousef**kingmuir.

Six trialists tonight. 3 starting, 3 on the bench. 
Admittedly, I'm quite disappointed that we're going down the route of so many trialists coming in. One or two is fair enough but it's not exactly a path that's yielded that many results in the past. 
I'd have hoped we had an actual signing strategy in place instead of bringing loads of folk in to see what they're like.

We aren't exactly going to set the league on fire with these names going about now. Just seems like a waste of money taking them to Spain really.
Given that Popescu and Muzek have walked now too I am beginning to doubt the effectiveness of this current scouting and management system again. All looked well a few weeks ago - not so much now!

Perhaps the buds who see things through rose tints can now accept how low our budget now is with this series of massive pay offs. We are shopping ever more in the mark down section. Jeez thers even buds think Tony Andreu will be a catch... ffs

Danny was disgracefully sacked.

There isn't an obvious candidate. JG just isn't ready for management in the Premiership. People forget that JR was coming to a failing Championship side. Although also in part time football, OK had 7 years experience in management. 
If Scott wants to maximise his investment the first head on the chopping block should be his own. He needs to find someone who actually knows how to run a football club. St. Mirren is not a toy to the supporters.

Seen that on Facebook earlier, but tbf I’ve seen quite a few rumours this past day and a half so until the club comment I’m taking everything with a pinch of salt.

FS , well documented some were simply not up too the job hence the large turnaround in January. The rest is history as they say. Funny that.  You could not make one of the important run in games St Mirren football club must mean a lot to you. 

100% Oran is special if he gets the players he wants within our budget I think we will do well clearly man management  skills are very high. Out of relegations way will be successful. Top six would be amazing. If we have any ambition we must keep him.
