  1. Haw, snlt! do you feel similarly about "Brits" such as Froome, McLay and Konta... Or was that just an effective piece of shit-stirring...? ;)
  2. Nah.... You'd have been better off turning the other cheek... if your brain needs summer exercise then open the church doors and set it free to explore in the glorious big universe. (Or, indeed... Multiverses...) from my PoV, it's not science (tho it is vitally important) that underpins my lack of 'belief', it's simply rationality. For example, it is science that informs us/you that it understands only a limited extent and that a lot of heavy lifting has yet to be done. It hasn't sat back and rested on the prognostications assembled from some surviving two millennia old documents. i genuinely believe we are better than that. the journey's just begun, humans are not at the cutting edge and are unimportant in a big picture... It would be good - always - to know and understand more.
  3. Sorry, rea... you're sabotaging your own world view, there. There is no magic required for atheism - only rationality. We don't need to put our faith in fairies...
  4. Was that a reserve match against East Fife...?
  5. I had 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5, 3-5 several times... This is may well fall on stony ground, but if only person gets it - my work will not have been in vain.
  6. Naw, the biggest problem is journalists doing half-arsed tiny reports in a limited space on a broad platform with too many levels of potential misunderstanding so they can never represent the nuances contained in the real science. FWIW, New Scientist has just produced another of its excellent publications - in The Collection series - which is looking at ALL sides of the "healthy eating and drinking and nurturing your body" question. I'm halfway through it. I shouldn't drink as much as I do - but it is only beer... The bottom line seems to be, as in so many things: Moderation is Everything.
  7. Well.... it's at the very least a reasoned, well-thought and, I think, a beneficial plan for the area. To build a (-n opening) bridge across The Clyde at Renfrew/Yoker, tidying up the roads and sharpening up a bridge across the White Cart. http://www.paisley.org.uk/2017/07/plans-submitted-major-infrastructure-projects/?utm_content=bufferbdd48&utm_medium=social&utm_source=bufferapp.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  8. Despite me really liking BM... and him scoring a late-winner at Falkirk to duff up my chances of doing well in the next day's Paisley 10k, through celebrating too much... I never really reckoned him to be a particularly effective striker. I can see why the Blessed Gus used him - as Billy held the ball up well, and so took a lot of strain off of a defence cultivated to be dour and steadfast instead of exciting and positive - Saints were set up to stop goals being scored not to score them.. Billy did score the odd important goal and I think they shocked many of us whenever it happened.
  9. Thank goodness King doesn't have a massive reputation for being a glib and shameless liar or Sevco and Rangers fans might be a wee bit worried... er.... wait a minute... he DOES! It doesn't really matter if no benefit on the pitch actually happened - as any team which does not disclose the totality of a remuneration package to its individual players automatically get docked the result. That is a fitba rule. They broke it - there is a penalty for breaking it. All results achieved with even just one misregistered player should be amended to read as a 3-0 defeat. That is a fitba rule, too. What would be the point of having rules if they chose NOT to apply them to the biggest cheats? Why would ANY fans of the other teams forced to play by those rules bother paying good/silly money into a business that systematically and openly cheats and lies. You'd be mugs to do that.
  10. Unfortunately... No. ...but that's not a judgement from 'a proper financial background'. My undstanding of the FT stats is potentially from 'a proper pure mince perspective'.
  11. I'd get sick if they stuck me on a seats roundabout. I even find the padded seats in the Main Stand a bit shoogly...
  12. I've just spent 20 minutes on the FT site having a look, but... As I don't have "a proper financial background", I won't opine in case it offends oaky or he goes to sleep again.
  13. More importantly - have they been brought back yet?
  14. I kissed a girl - and I liked it....
  15. People like yourself watch EPL on SKY. SKY has deals all round the world to show people like yourself advertising. Whatever big companies that are using SKY EPL fitba as their advertising showcase pay an awfy lot of money to put their products in front of you. Around the world - I'll say again - A lot of eyeballs to view their Ads. I hope that you, like so many others according to a recent splurge on the BBC website, prefer to watch on dodgy links and don't pay for SKY. I just DON'T watch. If it ain't Saints - it doesn't get near my eyeballs.
  16. I agree, Rick. precisely the same stream of thought that I had....

  18. Well... I know I've gone on and on about it on here for years... And that there are plenty who go la-la-la-la-la and skim past it, but at last there's a chance for Scottish fitba to set its house in order. It WILL happen. Those titles WILL be stripped or asterisked. regan, Doncaster and especially Ogilvie have been complicit in the biggest sporting fraud in British history - a fraud that assumed every other Scots fitba fan was too dumb and too supine to challenge. THEY are the Peepul, after all. Falkirk, like the DEID club, eventually fell on their own sharpened sword. They had a two-sided stadium eventually, that had to be bought as a business by the local authority and it's been out of the top division ever since. Cheating doesn't pay. Ever. That's why the law caught up with those cheats yesterday, but transparency and removal of 14 titles/cups is the natural follow-on, natural justice. sevco fans are welcome to 'believe' that their history IS a long one going back to the 1800s, but real history tells a different, honest story. All other fans can point and laugh, cos - remember - they also 'believe' THEY are the peepul. and, by the way, the financial stripping of funds from the peepul is not yet finished. The peepul are now buying the old strips that they'd been boycotting, they have bought more season tickets, yet they're told the club is surviving through fresh loans IN JUNE - just after the season ticket money rolled in! luckily, they have bought in a string of superstars recently... As we all saw in Luxembourg....
  19. The quandary SFA now find themselves in is that THEY assisted Rangers to cheat and accepted their lies about complying with UEFA's financial rules. The SFA... (led by someone called Ogilvie at the time - a Real Ranjurs Man, who got an EBT - no doubt for services rendered.... ahem.)... were well aware that Rangers had outstanding debts due to HMRC and that there was trouble looming - just like the Wee Tax Case which they admitted to - so turned blind eyes in order to assist Rangers win a European trophy and garner loadsa money en route. Shame about the wee gardener, mind. It was such a cunning plan, otherwise... I sincerely doubt that Scottish fitba will be the only sphere of 'sport' on the planet, in which cheats don't get punished and unfairly gained titles etc removed. If nothing else - Celtic had a duty to their shareholders to maximise returns. If the directors and board of Celtic seem happy to accept the cheating - increasingly doubt that their shareholding fans shall. And they can hold their directors to account. ETA: JUST FOUND THE FOLLOWING - about Celtic's potential interest: WE note today’s decision by the Supreme Court. Celtic’s position on this issue has been consistent – that this has always been a matter for the courts of law and also the Scottish football authorities, whose rules are intended to uphold sporting integrity. In 2013, we expressed surprise – shared by many observers and supporters of the game – over the findings of the SPL Commission that no competitive or sporting advantage had resulted. Today’s decision only re-affirms that view. We are sure now that the footballing authorities in Scotland will wish to review this matter. Celtic awaits the outcome of their review. http://www.celticfc.net/news/12873
  20. It has also been about other organisations trying to exploit this immoral cheat... ... but aye - if I were one of the 80 people paid £48m over 10 years to unfairly win 14 trophies, then I would certainly be worried. They were all offered the chance to settle by this year with HMRC. If they trusted in the deid club's Administrators to get them off the hook, then they were sadly naïve. And I never knew that transferring assets meant you no longer owed tax? That's not a new one - and not a loophole, either, I'm afraid.
  21. "End to the debate?" We've always known it 's a new club. Today was only about the old dead club - so should be discussed on the poor Rangers thread rather than on a sevco thread, surely? You can't punish a different team but the SFA have seen fit to 'award' that different club with a lot of history including 14 titles or cups 'won by the cheating dead club. The truth has not yet sunk in. It will.
  22. More bollox, innit? There never was an original company owning the Club, so no 'different company' could come along and rescue anything.. There was only a Club and that died. Totally. The BBC know that the new club, like The BBC, is named The Rangers, operated by its 'engine room, subsdiary holding company' Rangers International FC.
