Though I do concede the government invested a fair bit in the infrastructure to support the circa 30ish million people in the SE.)

On the other hand, if that oil wealth was kept in Shetland, Orkney and North East Scotland, it would have made them very prosperous communities. Aye. Look for offence... …and you’ll find it. Personally I thought the aggressive greenness of it was offensive to fans of the deid club in Glasgow. I felt the flamboyant flaunting of 8 articulated (though no doubt rendered inert for the show’s duration!) limbs mocked anyone with mobility problems. And it’s probably stuffed - so that alone would depress Turkeys before Xmas.

Boat Story. 6 one hour episodes. (Available on iPlayer, now) I watched episodes 1 and 2 on Sun and Monday. BBC. Excellent - fast, funny, brutally and gratuitously violent. Critics complain that it’s too Coen Brothers or Tarantino-ish… which I see as V. complimentary. genuinely funny and a wonderfully intricate/complicated style of storytelling. eg we saw the Epilogue as Prologue early in the first episode. Just shows what confidence the writers have in the material. Fantastic acting. it’s by Harry Williams and Jack Williams, who wrote The Missing and Baptiste…. Which I’ve not seen but might now look for.

I gave up watching a stupidly Slow Sportscene at HT because it showed several minutes of the players going off the pitch at HT. Went back later and zapped through the recording to scrutinise the goals.

I tried being nice. But it was to a brick wall. Civility and logic could not penetrate.
