Jim Goodwin will always be a legend but imo this job is too early for him. Im not convinced he has what it takes just now. We need a manager with a good contact base to attract the right quality to the club.

One thing is for certain once we appoint the new manager half our support will go into meltdown as he wasnt their choice. I suspect this will run on for a couple of weeks.

I read through it. Sounds like he will only take the job if he is given cash to splash on players. He is looking for a club with high ambitions. We dont have an abundance of riches so im not sure he is the right fit for our club.

If we get a million for Kyle then superb. Kellerman is a ready made replacement and we would have even more cash for some quality players.

Can not begrudge Jack this move. I thank him and wish him well. He gave our club belief again and galvanised it. He has put us on a firm footing and didnt leave it the way others have. Good luck Jack now lets see who can take us further.

I just want this saga over with now. This is what you get when you are successfull. It was always on the cards. Get the deal done so we can appoint the new man.

This is a no brainer for Ross. He wins promotion in his first season and he will be set for life. Its a major stepping stone and he would be mad to knock it back. We now say thanks for taking us back to the SPL and move on. The next appointment is really important and we should not rush in.

I would welcome Lambert coming in. To be fair the club would be attractive to a wide range of managers. We have no debt, we will have a decent budget and the chance to sign your own team as we need at least 10 new players. I would like to think we will cast the net wide and not go for the usual suspects.

Sunderland do not really have to ask permission as it can be done after terms have been agreed. Does anyone really think we will knock them back? Jack could resign leaving compensation to be agreed. I fully expect the club to be contacted with permission granted. Time to look for a new boss.

Happy if Jack goes and Hopkin comes in. He has proved he can build a side on a small budget who can win against bigger sides us included.

Jack will have his targets and we will be talking to players of that there is no doubt. However if he is going then the players identified may not suit a new manager or the way he wants to play. This is why its crucial to have this sorted now not weeks down the line.

No one is bigger than the club. Deadlines need to be put down. Our coming season is very important and we cant be hostage to waiting on other clubs taking Ross away. We need to start recruitment of players.

Could it be that we keep letting him talk to other clubs so that he does leave? It may be a ploy to allow Fitzy a 3rd crack at the job
