  1. 1) The world has gone PC mad if you can’t make a cheeky dig on a banner at your rivals. If anyone was genuinely offended then they need to lighten up. Get a grip of yourselves.

    2) To ban these guys is an absolute disgrace and I find it a bit insulting actually (and this comes from someone with no connection to this group whatsoever who sits over in the main stand).

The atmosphere that these guys (combined with a decent team) have created in their own time and at their own cost, has vastly improved the match experience recently. Let’s not forget attendances are up and the players have spoken about the feel good atmosphere at the ground.

To slap a ban on these guys without any discussions is arrogant and unappreciative

    3) To this group of fans - see my first point above but if you thought there might be repercussions then why make the banner? Don’t go looking for conflict with the club - thankfully you’re not the green brigade so don’t act like them. Work with the club not against each other

    4) Petty threats of silent first halves etc come across as immature. You’ve got the backing of most fair minded saints fans at the moment - don’t alienate us with this sort of nonsense.

If the club don’t budge then by all means let the world know you feel let down and totally disheartened. Then move on and do what you normally do on a Saturday and get behind the team.

We all want a successful team and to enjoy going to the games on a Saturday. If you can help in the smallest way by singing throughout the game etc. then do exactly that. If the club don’t appreciate it take it up with the relevant people at the end of the season and you’ll have the majority of the punters behind you.

  2. Terrible performance. Even if we judge it 11 v 11 Jack Ross got it very very badly wrong or the players didn't follow instructions.

We pumped it long every single time and didn't even try to keep the ball on the deck. It was strange and absolutely shit to watch. God knows what the thinking was behind those tactics today.

  3. I'm surprised at the reaction to this. 33 years old is nothing for a keeper so no issue with that. This is a guy who played in the top league for us regularly and won a national cup. Was he also not called into the Scotland squad at one point?

Maybe worth remembering what level we are at these days.

Excellent, solid signing. Just what we needed.

  4. I can't see Jack moving to Dundee. Aberdeen or Hearts maybe but Dundee no.

A young manager in Scotland should be looking at England as the end career goal. That's the move that could end up being life changing for him and his family.

Will a move at this point in time to Dundee open the door to that kind of move? I highly doubt it. What's he going to achieve at Dundee? A top 6 finish at best? There's a long list of managers that have achieved that with similar clubs to Dundee and haven't had a sniff of a job down south and certainly not a 'big' job down there.

If Jack is as bright a guy as we think he is he'll be looking longer term and realise his stock would be at its highest by getting us up and keeping us up for a season. That would be the time to move on.

One slight reservation for a chairman might be that he's not stayed at any one club particularly long and completed a project. He's in the perfect situation to do that with us at the moment.

Maybe he'll take the short term view and pocket the extra £20k a year or whatever it would but I honestly think that would be a mistake for his own career longer term.

  5. Oh ffs... Here we go again.
Neither were McLean or McGinn apparantly.

I guess you will be happy when we get to admire him in another clubs colours!

McLean carried a team in the SPL. McGinn bossed a national semi final against Celtic and won a cup final at 19 or whatever age he was.

Comparing those players to Mallan is laughable. He was not the only one who didn't turn up today, but let's remember what level we are at here.
  6. Thoughts on today's game:

    - we we very very poor. We barely deserved a point -couldn't string two passes together

    - we don't seem to have a settled penalty taker. Strange.

    - The referee was absolutely shocking. An absolute embarrassment.

    - Dumbarton came to ruin the game and get a point.

    - We lack pace without Morgan

    - McGinn looks shattered

    - Mallan is not the player he thinks he is.

  7. Average? He was absolutely rotten, shirked out of challenges the whole game, gave the ball away countless times and was totally ineffective. That's exactly as he has been this season generally.

The reason Mallan attracts more criticism than most in the team is because he has the most natural ability. If he applied himself the way he should he'd be a star at this level. Unless that changes he won't realise his potential.

Rumours the bid was £150k. Undoubtably take it.

  8. Mallan has been absolutely dreadful this season. He's been living off a few spectacular goals last season and if we had more midfield options he would have been dropped. Plenty of ability for this level but he doesn't seem to have the desire quite honestly.

He'd probably be better in a team that was technically better than we are so he might well make it at a higher level. Not someone to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in the trenches though which is what we need at this moment in time.

  10. Thought we played well today. Unlucky not to get a point. Stevie Mallan was the best player on the pitch, in my opinion. What a prospect McAllister is too.

I agree we played well against United and we were definitely worth a point. I'm actually feeling positive about staying up this season I really do feel we are currently looking a better team than the 4 teams above us.

Can't agree with the Mallan comment - quite the opposite really. Thought he was the worst Saints player by a mile, consistently giving the ball away, trying Hollywood passes and playing aimless balls forward. He certainly has ability but he hasn't done anything this season to warrant starting every game. Needs to toughen up and work a lot harder for the team if he's going to fulfil his potential.
