  1. The drums were great at Ayr. It was an old fashioned ground with terracing and standing up. We could all bounce about and sing away to our hearts content. It was just like the old days. If you were stuck in a seat with some drummer boy banging away in the seat next to you I could see it being a problem but at Ayr both the drums added to the atmosphere. Hats off to the Drum section of the NB Aggro. I also thought you did a sterling Job. COYS.
  2. In the bad old days that was often the chant at the end of the song. It wasn't a dig at you As she wheeled her wheelbarrow through street broad and narrow singing ............ There were various endings and the most popular was OWTS but on occasions usually against the old firm when the brave boys in the North Bank were protected by the big mesh fence we would chant YGGYFHKI. I always found it highly amusing visualising Molly with her wheel barrow chanting that in her broad and narrow Streets so wind in your neck and Chill. As for Good Old St Mirin He was a nasty piece of work torturing the poor king for not letting him spread his religious pish. I get enough nonsense from hearts fans claiming we lay down to Celtic when they lost the league. St Mirin might be a Catholic and St Mirin might even be the Patron Saint of Paisley but I hope ST MIRREN FC don't harbour any of that sectarian pish that inspired the NORTH BANK AGRRO to end sweet Molly Malone with the threat of sectarian bigots getting there heads kicked in for trying to spout their bile at love street. Hope that explains what the terracing was like in the 70's maybe you've never heard Sweet Molly the football hooligan Relax I'm to old to do any harm.....
  3. On way home after a great day in Ayr. Is it too early to start giving JR a bit of credit. How about a wee chant for jack. There's only one Jack Ross He's the man he's the boss He'll keep us up He'll win the cup Living in St Mirren wonderland
  4. Eastern st mirren section mobilised. On Edinburgh train. Ayr here we come. Game better be on .
  5. "You're gonnae get your @@@@@@@ head kicked" in with posts like that.
  6. Actually that's not such a bad call. Possibly re-planning The Glasgow - Ayr part of my journey. Cheers
  7. Not as many pub stops. But thanks for the info.
  8. I'm coming through from North Berwick. The Glasgow to Kilmarnock Trains are running normally. It's a bit of Phaffing about but Paisley - Glasgow, Glasgow- Kilmarnock, Kilmarnock - Ayr might be better than the Scotrail mystery bus tour from Paisley .
  9. Came across this in the DVD Shop. Football Manager Jack Ross and his Captain Steve McGinn have a dream. They have to save their team from relegation and oblivion. Left with a disastrous squad of players by the previous Manager who had been tainted with Old Firm disease they set out to rescue the club which has been in free fall for Seasons. Things don’t go well initially and the ghost of Gus McPherson comes back to haunt them. With only two wins in fifteen games the fans are screaming for Jacks blood and demanding the return of Gus. Unwilling to give up Jack calls on McGinn and nine other players who are all down on their luck. Against all Odds Jack takes his club to two cup Finals and leads them through a serious of must win games to secure league survival. This true story begins at Ayr on Saturday don’t miss this against all the odds movie that’ll have you screaming and leaping out of your seat. Coming to various Scottish football stadiums soon A Gordon Scott Production that you just want to come true.
  10. I agree with the new offside rule. I don't understand that either..
  11. Probably no where but your not exactly jumping to JR's defence and i had to pick on somebody. Why let the truth interfere with anything. I put you in the Gus camp which includes everyone Not in the JR camp. There Justified
  12. This thread is getting a bit repetitive now it’s degenerated in to a Civil war. A Ross v Gus Thread where two distinctive camps have gathered. The rebellion is being plotted. Sack the Tyrant manager who thinks he’s invincible and come the revolution TC, FS, BtB and all Gus’s other henchman will be on a witch hunt and dragging Kendo, IOBS, myself and any other who put their heads above the parapet and pleaded for some stability off to the guillotine. Maybe we should call in the UN. Boutros Boutros Ghali or Kofi Annan could broker a cease fire which would stop all the pot shots and the incessant sniping that has become the general tactic of this thread that has become battleground JR must go. If it holds the cease fire will no doubt end at some point probably between 3pm and 4.45pm on Saturday. As a parting shot can I just add. We in The JR camp are not judging him by his record so far. Feck we’d be on your side if we did that. We see potential and we are willing to give him time. There goes the cease fire!!!!
  13. I was thinking that too. Freshly sooked pineapple juice straight from the pineapple. Took a couple of days holiday and Just been on a two day bender organised around Sunday's game. Think I drank my allocated alcohol units for the whole year in two days Might have to tell lies to the doctor/wife so I can squeeze in a couple of shandies at the Ayr Game. Of course I'll only be drinking Irn Bru at the cup final. Wink wink! Don't judge me I went to fecking Paisley for my holidays what do you expect me to do. Go shopping and sunbathe at the Lagoon.
  14. Yeah! you're definitely getting the hang of this No Worries, Hakuna Matata, My friend. Right it's your round set them up.
  15. I was on at least my 8th when I left the club but it could've been my tenth however at that point I was sure JR could get us to 9th.
  16. Two day bender. Lentil Soup for breakfast this morning.
  17. Right guys. Loads of complaints about Jack Ross and St Mirren doing your head in. Team tactics, strategy and first half performances. There is one easy solution to the Jack Ross scenario. Buy yourself a match ticket and take advantage of your Buddie card. Trust me with enough drink in you the first half performance is incidental. Before you know it you’re singing “wee Stevie Mallon” and shouting “into them Stelly.” Stellios really did look up for this one. With enough alcohol in you Jack Ross looks quite a strategist. At peace with world you can then stroll into the 1877 Club where a man with a beard wearing an Indian headdress and a St Mirren flag draped around his shoulders will keep you amused with his spectacular air guitar displays as he dances to the Club DJ. Whatever it is that’s doing your head in be SMISA, JR or indian war dances his holiness GS is on hand to answer your question and shake your hand. Being drunk does not dissuade him from speaking to you. Feck he spoke to me and didn’t seem put off by my slobbering nonsense. A few OK maybe a lot of beer after the game helps too. So guys stop fecking moaning and get to the Pub. It helps. Honest. Now what pubs can I visit in Ayr???
  18. Like wise. I'll be hitting Paisley around 12.30pm in time for my first refreshment. Hope to have a memorable day. It would be fantastic to have a Plan A that worked. Going down to the third tier would be bad but no matter how professional and well run they are getting gubbed by a Welsh league team would put a bit of a dampener on the old after match celebrations. JR in you we trust. Don't let us down or take us down for that matter. COYS
  19. I agree in essence with your point but hopefully that is part of JR's plan. Due to his inexperience he possibly believed playing nice football would do that. It hasn't and hopefully he is not going to do a Mark Warburton who had no strategy other than plan A and if that doesn't work do plan A better. JR better learn to fit more than one string to his bow if he is going to be a success. Time will tell but the reality is we can't afford to do anything else but give him time. If he doesn't cut the mustard after a reasonable settling in period then I hope the board have a Plan B. Until then JR needs to think hard about his approach, learn, adapt and stop getting beat or Plan B awaits him. Up till then we support him and cut him some slack. COYS
  20. Cheers I'll try and drag my driver in for one. Even if its just out of morbid curiosity. Thanks for the reply.
  21. Sorry for picking on you sergie lots of people have said this but whilst its true, when I started supporting ST Mirren we were in the old Second Division and that that was the bottom league. We couldn't go any further down,so Modern League one won't be the worst we've ever been so whilst it will be unpleasant to get relegated we still have a bit to go before we are Rock Bottom. Managers have to learn their trade somewhere and whilst many believe JR is out his depth in the Championship, He has had some experience in League one and by all accounts was doing well enough to attract our attention. Whilst many claim the teams performances have improved under his leadership everyone agrees his teams have not yet learned how to secure league points. We have gone through lots of players during his reign and he still has to find a winning formula. Many of his new signings are loans and probably won't be available next season. In our financial state it makes sense to keep him to the end of the season. If we stay up. Hopefully he will have learned and can take the team forward. If we go down hopefully he can call on his previous experience, gain some confidence from being back at a level he can cope with and then progress to a higher level thus rewarding our loyalty after keeping him in post. If he shows no sign of improvement in league one. Then we get shot of him but I don't think we have any option other than to trust him meantime. We can't afford to sack managers every five or six months. Give the JR a chance to learn his profession. That's my opinion
