The transfer fee stuff never ceases to amaze me.
McGinn was out of contract. We were hardly in the best negotiating position!
And it wasnt Barcelona he signed for. He went to a Championship club!
McLean had 6 months left on his contract. A contract he only signed because no-one was prepared to pay any transfer fee at all for him.
Yet folk still bang on as though Gilmour and co under sold our players!

I think any rational person would interpret your post below as you saying he is a bad player.

Reilly is a proven scorer at this level. He's just spent a season on the bench at Dunfermline.
I can't imagine he's signed for us on the basis that he'll be on the bench again.
I would have thought he was here to partner Smith in attack with Sutton & Stewart providing the competition and back up.
I can't see us signing a 5th striker in Loy.

Aye, 5 strikers seems a bit much.
As someone else mentions, maybe Smith is going to play in midfield, maybe Sutton is offfski.
Seems certain that he intends playing 2 up front then if Loy signs.

Having watched that debacle today, I think we may well struggle.
The loss of Mallan is a major blow.
Sticking out such an attacking side away to a top 6 premiership side was stupid.
Jack Ross got his tactics wrong today.
Hopefully it turns out to be a blessing in disguise and Ross sorts things out.

No - this is the Championship we should be finishing 6th minimum anything worse is "below par".
We should be competing for a promotion play off spot.

Well done to Chris Froome on obtaining his 4th Tour title , a fantastic achievement for him and more good news for British Cycling. Here's to coming back for the fifth. .

Respect to Froome who has proved himself master of this race once again, and not just as a time trailer - he has only lost ground to two riders, Uran & Bardet going H2H out on the road.
The key stages, as always, were in the mountains
Stage 9 where Aru helped Froome chase down Bardet even allowing Froome to collect a time bonus  and removing any pressure that might have been on him (Froome) had Bardet got 20/30 seconds plus the time bonus from the stage. Essentially allowed Froome/Sky to stick to their usual tactics for the remainder of the race. Stage 12 where Froome cracked going up that final crazy climb - thankfully for him it was only about 1km. Stage 17 where after puncturing Froome lost about 45 secs to the other GC contadors (sic) but he was just able to get back up to the group before the descent and save his yellow jersey. Congratulations to the big man - Mr. Vroom Vroom Froome!
    ***************************
Will he repeat last year and try for a Tour/Vualta double - he only lost it last year when he & Sky got caught napping on a short mountain stage by wee Bertie . As long as Froome stays on his bike he'd have to be the favourite unless the organizers have included a couple of vertical finishes.

Rae was saddled with Murray's pish for most of his reign.

Every manager has to deal with the previous managers signings.

I'm not interested in this unquantifiable 'style of football' barometer, I'm interested in results.

And Ross's are worse than Rae's.

Plaudits they deserved for finishing 19th in Scotland? Our worst finish for over a decade?

It's quite the measure of how far the football club has fallen that some of our supporters think that finishing 19th in the country deserves plaudits.

Or indeed that losing at home to Livingston then getting rinsed 5-0 by Patrick f**king Thistle is par for the course.

    It's not.

Things don't have to be this bad.

You think? He's only got a year's contract, so that would seem a bit rash and wouldn't make sense to me personally, especially given Harry's current injury, Gary Mack's injuries last season, and with Buchanan not looking too solid so far. Might just be me, but I'd rather see Jack in the team right now, until Harry is fit and signed, and unti Buchanan settles into the club.

check what it does to an average riders legs
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cycling/2017/07/19/cant-healthypolish-cyclist-pawel-poljanskis-photo-reveals-ravages/

A picture is often described as worth a thousand words and that idiom has never been truer than the image shared by Polish cyclist Pawel Poljanski.
A thesis could be written on the rigours of the Tour de France, but Poljanski's photo, showing legs riven with veins that look poised to burst and skin frazzled by the sun, says it all.
"After sixteen stages I think my legs look little tired," the cyclist wrote on Instagram alongside the picture.
Dr Bradley Launikonis, from the University of Queensland's School of Biomedical Science, explained what happens to the legs during long-distance cycling.
"The amount of blood that we get normally going down to our legs is five litres per minute, for anyone at rest. For an untrained athlete, their maximum exercise will have 20 litres per minute flowing through the muscles," he told the ABC.
