Poor performance yesterday. Players slow to react , Dundee first to every loose ball and much sharper in possession. No point naming individual players , it was just bad all round. I'm sure the players will know that without needing to be told. There were signs of something similar against Hibs on Wednesday, but we managed to scrape a point out of that game. Maybe the illness in the camp had something to do with it, but well below the standard of play we've become used to.
The break next weekend should give everyone time to recover from any illness and put the required work in on the training ground to get this out of their system.
As supporters (the clue is in the name) we should remember that these are the players who have put the club in its present strong position in the league and give them a chance to put things right. Next two games (Livi and Ross County) are eminently winnable, so let's wait till then before barracking them about their performance.

    Aw ffs.
Zach has been in fine form this season and has made some impressive contributions to where we are in the league.

Please take your tedious trolling shite elsewhere.
This website is becoming more and more about tedious trolling and pointscoring with every passing week.
An embarrassment to the good name of St. Mirren FC.

Bad defeat, you've got to hope illness in the camp has contributed to two disappointing performances, much recovery and hard work to be done in the break.

Yup, I’d be a lot more comfortable if Robbo had acknowledged the inadequacies tonight. He could still put a positive spin on it with the old “sign of a good team when you can still pick up a point against a tough opponent when you’re not at your best”, but hopefully behind the scenes he knows that wasn’t good enough tonight.

You're correct, he was well below his usual form but that didn't affect his composure in scoring the penalty. [emoji122]

Couldn’t agree more.  Good that we can get points after serving up a performance well below our best.

Just back from the game and looked up the Beebs coverage. I couldn't believe SRs comment.
"I thought the boys were terrific. One of our best performances of the season against a very good Hibs side"
It must look totally different from the dugout. Absolutely dreadful performance for at least two thirds of that match.
We stood so far off Hibs that they could have made a cuppa and had a fag before making their next pass.
Still. Another point to add to a handsome total.

Thought we deserved a draw on balance of play.
Too many key players slightly off it. Another strong display from Hemming, especially getting Gogic out of jail and his save low to his right second half.
Baccus needs to start every game if fit.
Story of the night for me is young Jamieson. When he came on he was demanding the ball, looking to make things happen, taking players on, put in some great balls and got his goal at the death. He could develop into a valuable asset for us
Squad looking good with the players we were able to bring on tonight, even although we can play better.

I’m going to say something that’ll sound a bit daft (no like me), but I think being fortunate to get the draw and deserving to get the draw and two different things and I think they both apply.
We deserved a draw because we put as much into the game tonight as Hibs, but make no mistake we were fortunate because we were largely f**kin honkin tonight and a better team would have seriously punished us.  We defended terribly, in particular Gogic and Strain. We had players falling all over the place and losing possession in dangerous areas. Baccus was terrible when he came on. Barely did a thing right. The midfield generally had a very rare off night.
On the upside, Tanser was once again outstanding for 90 minutes. Greive was excellent in the short time he was on, as was Jamieson. I thought McMenamin worked hard and put in a good few dangerous crosses that no one got on the end of.
All in all though, I think we should be pretty grateful for that point, especially so late in the game.

Celtic 2-1 St Mirren, full time.
Really disappointed, we were, IMO, coping well despite the expected possession that Celtic had.
Not a bad result and we're not a bad team.

Disappointing the game is off as these next two games were a real opportunity to get another 6 points on the board before playing Celtic.
Sounds like it was probably the right call though.
…..and from a purely selfish point of view, I’m glad it’s this weekend and not next as I’ll be in attendance. 😄

The next couple of games could be really beneficial for us (league table wise) if we do our job as the Edniburgh duo meet the Glasgow duo in consecutive weeks.
Fingers crossed we get back to a more fluid style of play and pressing more in attack. The last few games have been a bit off compared to the previous efforts.

On a more philosophical note we were followed by a goalless draw between 2 teams who are fairly dire.
There’s a long way to go and with a break prior to the County game it gives us the ideal opportunity to come back rejuvenated.
