Sandy got a reaction from paul torfason in League Prediction
Predictions mean absolutely nothing. I prefer hard facts. The facts so far are done well against non league opposition. Beaten by Dundee and a poor draw against Alloa. Jack Ross said is was not good enough and he is very disappointed. Also we have lost our best player. THOSE are the facts and that is the real world....not the dream of fanciful predictions.

It was looking good three hours ago and now it's looking bleak again. We simply need to beat Hibs and that's all. If we get beat and Raith beat Ayr then it's most likely we face Goodwin and that will be a massive test of minds.

Yes did you also not know that next season St Mirren will play Kilmarnock in the play off for the SPL and they will WIN ......also after winning the Scottish Cup the following year they will be playing Everton in the Europa league and they will win that game as well. Do you not know these things ??

Sandy got a reaction from madmitch in Fiftieth Anniversary Third Strip For Season 2017/18
The current team are not fit to wear this iconic strip. This was St Mirren in their hey day with amazing players like Gilshan, Adamson, Kane, Adamson, Fulton, Duffy, Pinkerton, Blair and many more. The only times I ever seen a net get burst was when Adamson did it TWICE in a season.

I know what you mean when you reel off the stats but the team in the 60's had a special magic. They were unbeaten all season and amazingly exciting. People would hold their breath every time Adamson or Kane got the ball as they knew something special was about to happen. With Pinkerton on the wing he would dance round defenders and Billy Fulton would give a special display of ball skills before the second half began. He would play keepie uppie and do a back flip and then the ball would land on his neck and even other teams were amazed at the skill. Those were exciting times that I have never quite seen again even though your point is valid. Kane would regularly score goals of the caliber of Tommy Gemils famous European goal that people speak of. You know it was special when the team names are still cemented in your head 50 years later.

I lived both the 60s and 70 teams , and the 60s shades it for me ,68 in particular , a full year unbeaten in the league , probably the only time we've had real consistency in our history !

Sandy got a reaction from Vambo57 in NEW SONGS SUNG IN THE STANDS
I think they should bring back Molly Malone .....that was always the top song St Mirren fans sung in the 60's and 70's .....it started slow then built up and everyone went crazy on the chorus. It's a top song and also Feed The Blair was another massive one amongst the fans ....obviously the name could be changed and anytime the fans sang that then the other players would actually pass to big Jim and nine out of ten times it would result in a goal. Now THAT was fan power. Compared with the pretty tame songs now those songs were absolute class.

In the bad old days that was often the chant at the end of the song. It wasn't a dig at you As she wheeled her wheelbarrow through street broad and narrow singing ............
There were various endings and the most popular was OWTS but on occasions usually against the old firm when the brave boys in the North Bank were protected by the big mesh fence we would chant YGGYFHKI. I always found it highly amusing visualising Molly with her wheel barrow chanting that in her broad and narrow Streets so wind in your neck and Chill.
As for Good Old St Mirin He was a nasty piece of work torturing the poor king for not letting him spread his religious pish. I get enough nonsense from hearts fans claiming we lay down to Celtic when they lost the league. St Mirin might be a Catholic and St Mirin might even be the Patron Saint of Paisley but I hope ST MIRREN FC don't harbour any of that sectarian pish that inspired the NORTH BANK AGRRO to end sweet Molly Malone with the threat of sectarian bigots getting there heads kicked in for trying to spout their bile at love street.
Hope that explains what the terracing was like in the 70's maybe you've never heard Sweet Molly the football hooligan
Relax I'm to old to do any harm.....

This is excellent.
More importantly than being able to work for one employer, the problem is that the worker can't exercise a Right of Substitution - he can't send his mate to play for the club.
There is clear direction and control exercised by the club and obviously mutuality of obligation.
This is as crystal clear a case of employment as it is possible to have IMO and therefore the club MIUST abide by the relevant laws.

It's unbelievable that people on here are thinking we can suddenly have loads of wins and loads of draws coming up .....ON WHAT BASIS ??? We have won TWO games all season and we are now at the back end. We have almost NO league games for a month and Ayr have the chance of stretching their lead before we meet them again. Then we have a month in March of really tough games and also a backlog will be building. Raith have FOUR league games before we meet Ayr. These teams will be out of sight and even if we did win say 17 points more that will still not be enough. That puts us on 31 but Raith and Dumbarton are only SIX away from that now !!! And Ayr are just TEN away. Are you saying Ayr can't win 10 points or that Raith and Dumbarton cannot win 6 more points ??? Don't be ridiculous. People on here are in denial. We won't even win 17 points ....why would we ? We only managed 14 so far with two thirds of the league done. FACE IT !!!

Yes sadly many clubs are like that apart from Celtic. They have just said tonight they made almost 70 million. There is a lot wrong with Scottish Football. I saw a programme recently about part time footballers. The standard is high as many choose to be part time as they have really good jobs. Some were earning around £70,000 so it would make no sense being a full time player. But they keep a high level of fitness and full time football isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Yes we can live in hope but Ayr have also stregthened their team too. It will be a battle and even so there will be another battle afterwards with second bottom having to get through TWO play off games to survive. And for what ? I think there is more to addressed than the survival. We are a selling club and seem to depend on either loanees or youngsters. Anyone with prospects gets shipped out. Getting that balance is something that I don't think Ross is suitable for. And I have a feeling more besides is going on. Changing captain, leaving established players out and rock bottom esteem. I can imagine that right now some players are weighing up their options for the future and maybe one reason for lack of commitment is that you don't want to injure yourself and throw your future in jeopardy. These guys have bills to pay like anyone else. There is a lot going on contributing to all of this.

If that was the case it would be DISGUSTING !!! People should be asking for their subscription back. To think they would change suddenly for cash is a ridiculous suggestion. Think where that money would be coming from ........
