He'll be able to Rome around the central area and get a Pisa the action. From watching him in the past he'll be a right Venice to the opposition who likes to put Brescia on the other teams attackers. His best mate Bari told me he's a Genoa-ine character who'll Lecce speak to him and get pictures etc So if you manage to meet him don't be a Prato.

So if we top the group with israel and albania it only means something if we then don't qualify from the "real" qualifying group which has still to be drawn? If this happened we would go into a play off with another 3rd tier team. None of this makes any sense! Plus all the teams will use the israel/albania type games as friendlies to try out new players etc in the build up to the real qualifying group when the whole point of these games was to get rid of friendlies and make games more competitive.

Chant Lyrics. Tune of sugar sugar

What about Davis, Magennis, Morgan?? No mention, they'll be feeling left out if we keep singing the same 4 players. Interesting that Flynn who hadn't even played 1 minute for the club was included in the song! -
January 2018 Transfer Window

We only play with one striker. Mullen can't even get on the pitch so if we bring in another that'll just be another striker to sit on the bench or are people thinking we need another one because Mullen hasn't impressed or scored yet? -
Jai Quitongo and Danilson Da Cruz. Apparently Sean St Leger too
-
Another centre half? We need a defensive and an attacking mid.

St Mirren V ICT 6th Jan 2018
YardleyBoom replied to proudtobeabuddy's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Kirkpatrick was signed in the hope he could fill the mallan role having scored 17 goals from midfield last season. It's a shame its not working out for him because he's exactly the type of player we need in there. -
Not rubbishing just stating that we need to change up the midfield who are all very slow paced, sideways moving and too similar. I think we can all see we have dropped a level since Mallan left. We can do something about that by getting more direct players with pace into the team whether they are strikers playing just behind the front man or by moving Magennis int the McShane role.
-
If he was say a Dumbarton player you'd all be desperate to get him to Greenhill Rd.
-
Yeah laughable that nobody else on here can see what we could have by signing him!
-
it's not all about scoring goals. His overall play is a constant threat, getting in behind defences, running the channels. At the minute we look stale in the midfield from McGinn onwards apart from Morgan. We can't just rely on one player all the time. Everything Mcginn and Mcshane did yesterday was side ways and when they got into trouble they would just pass it to morgan. No direct running forward. no forward passes to cut open defences. We need a new spark about us. Either move Magennis into the centre to link with the strikers or go out and sign Quitongo and Dobbie
-
Get him signed!! He has all the attributes you look for, pace, strength, dig, technical ability and a cheeky side to him which we saw yesterday. I know he's a morton player but I can't think of another forward in the league that poses as much threat to us as he does every time we play them. Some peopleare saying he only does it against us, well that's good enough to know that he is a top player who in the right team with the right manager will develop into one of the best in this country. We have some money to play with if Morgan's transfer goes through and Mcginn's payment comes in. I bet Morton would bite your hand off for 50-60k. Just pay it, win the league then we'll make a tidy profit selling him to a bigger club. Incidentally I think we should also get Dobbie in on a short term deal. We are lacking a spark from midfield to front and these 2 guys would provide that.
-
What about Davis and Magennis?

Quitongo is a cracking player. We'd do extremely well were we to get him. Based on the way he played against us I'd imagine Morton will be looking for a top SPL or English Championship team to come in and pay good money for him.

George Best
YardleyBoom replied to Desperately Seeking Susans's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
I said the exact same thing to my Dad at the end of the game about his likeness to George Best. You know a class player when they make a pass that even sitting in the stand you couldn't see. That's what that cut back to mcshane was. I get that wingers are supposed to get to the by line and cut the ball back but mcshane wasn't even in the sight of anyone when he fired that ball straight to his feet. It was just instinctive. Morgan didn't even look up. To come up with that pass and vision after running at speed from the half way line, round the side of the left back then to the by line was quite something. A goal I'll remember for a long time -

I'd say £100 + Vat is quite a lot for a tiny step advert that nobody is going to read

I'm all for the club trying to raise more funds but I just can't see why a business would want to pay money for their logo to be on the edge of a step. The only people who are going to see it are the few hundred who are walking up the step during a game and even then probably about 80% of them won't even notice it. Bit different if it's a name of a supporter I suppose then it takes on a sentimental value like the bricks outside the stadium. Just don't see the value for businesses advertising unless they bought every step in the ground!

Livingston v St Mirren SPFL Championship 19/8/17
YardleyBoom replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Last season J&J knew this and brought in Craig Storie to be the dig in midfield. He was like a young Jim Goodwin. I thought he did well for his first few games and added a steeliness to our midfield but then McGinn came in and we dropped him. Any chance we can get him back! -
