I did have a really good laugh at the myriad of negative comments in the Jambo's Forum about their team and the performance but what surprises me is just how few positive comments there were re Saints.
Yes I know it's a forum for their supporters but they seem to have an inbuilt belief, that they as a tribe, are entitled to success whilst anyone else isn't. Strangely the same kind of feeling came out of Dougray Scott's mouth in one of the "Crime" episodes when he bemoaned the failure of Hearts to win the league when they lost to Dundee (and I think we got beaten by a barrowload to the Green Brigade)!
Anyway, back on subject, what surprises me about reading this Forum section is that supporters, who support the likes of Hearts, expect nothing but success and resent others having fleeting glimpses of it. They also don't realise that sometimes through cyclical inabilities of Boards, Managers and signings, everyone gets it wrong at least once in a while and that it is their turn to suffer at the hands of poor decision making and maybe poor man / player management.................. who knows!

If you stop that video Shull posted from YouTube at the point when Alex Greive scores you can plainly see he is onside.
Why, if that is an available video angle do VAR not have that facility in Scotland? It made our last 15 minutes tetchy as opposed to relaxed, but then maybe that's what it is to be a Buddies suppporter!

Whilst I will credit Shankland with a good touch (at times), I thought yesterday he acted like a petulant child.
He was lazy at times, he spent more time around the centre circle than in the penalty box and I laughed out loud a few times with his poor touch.
Sometimes I think commentators on both radio and TV don't call it for what it is - a poor show from a so called clinical finisher............. certainly not International standard playing like that.   🤨

I would agree to an extent, but I have another slight worry, whilst we have Bolton as a back up, any injury to say Gogic or Taylor could put real pressure on the back line, though Small is a good addition.
Keep crossing my fingers and enjoying the galloping horse ride as it strides through the season

Talking about the Abbey, interesting to compare photographs between 1927 and 1938 to see the old buildings fronting onto Gauze Street and Cotton Street then all gone by 1938.

A great view of the town from 1950 with Scottish Wool Growers Store and a distant shot of Love Street with still no covered terracing opposite the stand.

The ultimate irony of it was, that I made more from my paper round per week (which I did directly with the Glasgow Herald) than I was being paid to be an apprentice surveyor.
Due to the new work being in Glasgow I couldn't continue with the paper round which was pretty useful money at the time!

The year I started work as an apprentice my pay was £250 pa. (!) so I had to get an extra job Friday night and Saturday all day.................... in the Courtyard.
Worked the main bar downstairs but was moved into the off-sales at 9.15 as closing time was still 10.00 and there was always a rush / queue outside the OS from 9.30 onwards!
  25. Thanks

A really good view around Glasgow Road between the old Education offices and Paisley Grammar from 1936.
Greenlaw Avenue and McKerrell Street, both look like main roads!
