Great team performance, stupid penalty to give away but overall a more than deserved point. Brophy played very well , Shaughnessy was superb

    Marcus Fraser is a legend!

My brother and I used to have season tickets, but gave them up when my son was born as I couldn't justify going on a Saturday.

My son is old enough and decided this season he wanted to go, so my brother, my son and I got season tickets again.

We got selected in the ballot to go to the Hearts game where my son said his favourite players were Main and Fraser. Said his most favourite was Fraser.

After the game he said he wanted boots like Fraser wore in the game. I hunted high and low on the internet to find them to see if did kids sizes, to find nothing.

I contacted the club to see if they could help me figure out the model. They said they spoke to him, where he said they were old and no longer can get them online.

Yesterday a package came for my son with the boots in it with his name on them and Marcus' autograph. He was over the moon.

I contacted him directly to thank him. He was so nice to respond and when speaking to the club they said it was all Marcus' idea.

Solid player and a true gent. I just wanted to share a positive since there has been a lot of negative about the club.

The old "e-Store" that I set-up for the club  was used to sell the hospitality and replica kit.
In addition to that we had "St.Mirren Direct" which was the outsourced club merchandise store.
You'll have noticed there was two tills in the shop, one for buying replica kit and the other for buying other club merchandise.
There were tax related reasons for that set-up, but it wasn't really ideal.
As part of the changes taking place and the move to Pitch-Pro Retail everything will be under one roof both in terms of online and the physical club shop.
I'm not involved in the set-up of the new online stuff so not sure when it's going live or what domain it is going to use.
Needless to say being unable to buy a replica kit in the first week of August is an absolutely shite state of affairs. I get that it's perhaps related to the Skyview debacle but it feels like there is always some issue or another with the strips every year.
If it was up to me (and I guess it is now partly up to all of us SMiSA members) the new kits for the next season would be launched at the end of the previous campaign.  Get the strips on sale before the summer holidays, it's not rocket science.
Maximise the sales by bringing the away kit out later, maybe launched at a family open day at the stadium as part of our pre-season preparation, get the stands open, let the kids meet the players, get some entertainment in, make a day of it.
In short, make it easy for supporters to spend money, and they will. Make it difficult and they'll find something else to spend their hard earned on.

Point 1 They have a plan in place you just dont like it, they say they have pushed to try and get more fans in and I believe them.
Point 2 No idea as I dont work for the club, have a look around yourself , I was guessing they were going bust due to this from Tony "Due to circumstances out with our control with our previous provider we have not been able to have season tickets on sale up until now. "
Point 3 You seem to think I have some sort of inside track on this but I know as much as any other non employee of SMFC. I am only going on rumour same as the rest.

You don't believe in coincidence, well great for you. Luckily I am a glass half full sort so will take their word for it and am I am sure a more chilled and less stressed person for it.

Yes it's a new vaccine but it's not new process this is one of the biggest bullshits being spread by anti vaxxers (not saying you are one) they were able to roll out the vaccine more quickly as they relied on proven techniques used on other viruses. It's like the whole 5g tinfoil hat argument it's new so it must be dangerous, nope it's just applying proven technology and advancing it

What a fecking attitude that is, how many of those under 30 have parents and grandparents who could be put at risk by them not having the vaccine? Yes being double jabbed lessens the impact of covid on those older than 30 however it does not remove the risk especially when you add in other complications like those with COPD or asthma etc
You are getting the vaccine as much for others as for yourself just like mask wearing, it doesnt really protect you but protects others.
Unfortunately many in the UK and worldwide only think of themselves and not society

The government should not be able to stick a needle in anyone's arm however the government should be allowed to restrict their activities somewhat i.e. if you travel back from an amber list country you have to isolate for 10 days unless double jabbed etc.

If you decide not to get a jab then you make the choice to accept those restrictions, rough with the smooth and all that

But it's not solely a personal medical decision, it's also a societal decision. It's not on a par with, say, refusing cancer treatment as that isn't infectious and, for a similar reason, your peanut "analogy" isn't really analogous.

As for older people, using your logic they shouldn't be caring about the environment, caring for others etc, etc as it won't affect them as they'll soon be gone.

We also don't yet understand the effects of long covid so that could be a ticking time bomb for those younger people who recover from the initial infection. Will the vaccine cause "things" later in life? Who knows? But unless you are willing to live in lockdown for 10/20/30 years, we don't have the time to find out, all we can do is deal with the here and now.

I don't think it should be compulsory but those who refuse it shouldn't expect to have the same "freedoms" as everyone else as they are a potential health risk to others, especially to those who can't get the vaccine for medical reasons.

In short, this is not really just a personal medical decision.
