Looking at the history of St. Mirren as a whole, the choices of Yardley and McGarry are bizarre. Davie McCrae, Scottish Cup winner and goalscorer, a club record 251 goals and 2 caps for Scotland. Yet he wasn't even on the short list.

I’m fairly certain that we won that game 4-3. It was McAvennie’s debut. We went 2-0 up, Airdrie came back and went 3-2 up and we scored two late goals to win it. My guess is that Billy Stark scores the other 2. Can anyone confirm? I also remember us beating them 5-0 at Broomfield in the Scottish Cup one season. Again, can remember McAvennie and Stark scoring.

The Lapsley omission is explained. I agree with an earlier post thought that Jock Bradford's name should be there. The list does seem to be heavily skewed towards more modern players. I'd go with: Saints, McCrae, Abercromby, Fitzpatrick & Bryceland.
