In the pubs and around the ground it was bouncing before kick off and up until we scored. And then it all went strangely flat, both on and off the park. But another win chalked up and hopefully we’ll finish the job on Tuesday.

Well, why read or post on the threads at all then? Nobody is saying that the current group of players won’t get our full support for the rest of this season. Or that they won’t have done an amazing job when we win the title. But if the thread is about what we will need to survive in a higher league then I think it’s fair enough to offer an opinion on the quality required.

But speaking generally we need to overhaul the squad or we’ll come straight down. Another GK (at least to provide meaningful competition), RB, CB, DM (tough tackling Goodwin type), LW, and at least one CF. Poss starting line-up: Samson/new GK; new RB (Naismith?), Davis (if he stays), new CB, Eckersley; McGinn, new DM; Flynn, Smith, new LW; CF Subs: Samson, Baird, Magennis, Mullen, Reilly, 2 others.

Jason Naismith I’d guess as I’d heard that one too. Especially if County go down.

Agree with all of this. Not convinced by those raving about the performance. Thought we were dominant throughout without carrying much of a cutting edge. Mullen needs to do a lot more for me than simply being tenacious and running around a lot. But the win and clean sheet all that matter.

I see the argument about not having 3 games in 6 days. But I'd still rather have points in the bag then games in hand towards the end of the season. Plus psychologically it might give United and Livi a lift to see the gap shrink.

Remembered a positive from yesterday. The move where Morgan got to the byline and the defender (Lithgow I think) ended up on his backside was terrific. Hope there's footage of that.

On our day our quick passing football is a joy to watch. But on a terrible pitch against more physical opposition we need alternatives. We need to be able to get stuck in and fight for everything. And we just don't seem to have those players in the squad. One defeat isn't a huge concern but a lack of variety in the squad is.
