It's definitely noticeable that all the sh*t stirring on here from glen and others came to an abrupt end when the rebels got their men voted on the SMISA board. Almost like it was all exaggerated to cause panic.

latest update and voting options. Surely even the most negative of St Mirren fan can’t Moan about this?  A lot has changed in the world since our previous update and we hope you are all staying healthy and coping the best you can in difficult circumstances.
Although there is sadly no football on the pitch to occupy us for the time being, the SMISA committee is still working away as normal behind the scenes.
Social distancing may mean we can no longer meet in person but we have remained in touch through email, group chat and even held our first-ever committee video call!
We are also still in regular dialogue with the St Mirren board via our two SMISA club directors, David Nicol and David Riley, who have provided an update for members below.
We will endeavour to keep you as informed the best we can as events progress, either through emails like this one or on our website and social media channels.
    April £2 spend ballot
This month we have £2500 available in the pot and two options for members to vote on. The first option is to provide financial support to the St Mirren Charitable Foundation who continue to carry out sterling work in our community.
The money would help chief executive Gayle Brannigan and her team continue to deliver essential community outreach initiatives and services during this time.
These include providing online support to groups through You Tube and Zoom educational seminars and workouts, and also daily support via What’s App groups and one-to-one phone calls.
The Foundation is also working with partner organisations within Renfrewshire to redistribute essential food and hygiene products to vulnerable individuals and families who are most in need.
The second option is to keep the money for possible use at a later date. The club is thankfully on relatively solid financial footing at the moment but there is obviously great uncertainty ahead for everyone.
As we move towards our stated aim of becoming majority owners of St Mirren by the end of 2021, members can vote to hold over this quarter’s money for a time when there may be greater need for it.
Voting on VeryConnect using this link: https://tinyurl.com/w5ghpcj   will close on April 21.
In the meantime, members can make individual contributions to the Foundation now should they wish to at  https://tinyurl.com/seps2vu
This month we also made the final instalment of our contribution to the cost of the new artificial pitch at the Ralston training ground. This means the July £2 Spend will be restored to around £7000.
    Club directors’ update
The club’s number one priority will always be the safety and well-being of our staff and players. We are well-positioned to weather the crisis due to sensible sustainable management by this board and the previous board.
Obviously we don't know how long this crisis will continue for but the board is continuing to talk almost every day to ensure the club is reacting appropriately to what is a very fluid situation.
We want to pay particular tribute to the work of the Charitable Foundation and Street Stuff for continuing to support the community during this difficult period. We also want to pay tribute to our media man James Hunter for producing some wonderful content for all of us missing our football fix.
As always we will do our best to keep the members – and the support as a whole – updated via news on www.stmirren.com.
    Virtual AGM
Having had to unfortunately cancel our proposed AGM on March 28 due to the growing Covid-19 threat, we are now working towards hosting an online process that would give members the chance to vote on matters as they would at a traditional AGM.
Details will follow on how that will work in the coming weeks.
In the meantime if you have any questions about this or anything else please get in touch via [email protected].
    Best wishes and stay safe.
    The SMISA committee

No spark at all. Wheres the Morgan, Mallan, Goncalves even Stelios type players we've been used to. Players with a personality on the pitch and something to excite the fans and lift the team. This lot have no spark whatsoever.

I think it is quite insulting to describe the 91.6% as 'gullible'.
As with all major decisions in life - getting married, getting a new job, having children, buying a house, moving abroad, buying a car or a business arrangement - there are no accompanying 50 pages of cast iron guarantees in your favour covering any perceived eventuality you can dream up.  You are attracted to an idea then you investigate and get as many answers as possible and from the correct sources (not a forum) then you go with your gut instinct and if it feels right you go ahead and try to make it work. Things do not always work out the way you would want however they may turn out better and the best thing you had ever done. Its about trusting in yourself and those that you enter into the agreement with. Because you do not get the 50 pages of guarantees that suit you does not mean you are gullible. It is an informed decision.

Aye. There is a great delusion that somehow Black & White Army Forum represent the fans. When the number of posters used to be displayed at the bottom of the page there was usually only around 100 people logged on during a live match. On non-match days the number was significantly less - often in the teens. And this thread shows that only a few people actually get involved. There may be a lot of 'members' of the Forum but many are dead accounts and many simply no longer post or use the site to gain information and not get involved. Out of the many fans I know I am the only one that posts on here. Only one other has an account. Considering we have around 4,200  regularly attending games then this forum is very insignificant to gauge what the fans think.

This is why I’ve voted in favour. I get the impression there is an apathy among the SMISA membership to get involved and make a direct contribution. If it got to 2026 and we were looking for folk to step up then I think it would be the same story. This way we get control but aren’t reliant entirely on SMISA to drive commercial streams.

I seem to remember that SMiSA members were asked about their skillset and willingness to be up for election for the St Mirren Board. Response was very poor hence I suspect this led to the current SMiSA Committee stating 'We have a partnership with someone who can be a vehicle to make the Club bigger and better than what it can be if it is just us on our own'.
Does the SMiSA fanbase have enough people with a skillset to run a business with a multi-million turnover and are willing to do it for nothing? I do not know but it does not look like it has based on the numbers volunteering at the last election and the poor response to voting and attending meetings by SMiSA members.

Blimey, it’s hard reading through this topic. I’ve done it to try and help me come to a decision on how to vote. I’ve also watched the video of the meeting and read the original proposal.
Initially, I was a bit skeptical on SMISA having less shares than originally promised and also not knowing too much about Kibble.
So what have I gleaned from all this, well, from what I can see is that most SMISA members, like myself and my wife don’t really do much more than pay our subs and vote on the £2 spend. And we do that because we want fan ownership, to never have some fly by night come in and destroy our club. We don’t have much more input than that due to having many other commitments for our time. It seems most don’t. Which is why SMISA might struggle to find many willing and able people to run the club once fan ownership is realised.
Kibble, a local charity, look like a well run company and being a charity, I doubt will try to destroy us for their own benefit (even if that was possible with a minority share). But, as SMISA members, we would act to stop them doing so if that was the case. 51% is the magic number.
Personally, I don’t know any current board members, SMISA or otherwise. But I trust them to run our football club. Mistakes have been and will continue to be made. The same has to go for the ones Kibble would appoint. We have to trust that they will do what they think is best for SMFC as they will be a part of it (again, I reiterate, a minority part). But I do think they will at least be capable of helping to run our club, and probably bring a good level of experience and professionalism to the table.
We are all taking a leap of faith in the BtB scheme to help secure the future of our club and I for one am happy to hold hands with Kibble and leap together.

Northbank boycotting the game over ticket prices. Good one to miss I’d say. But hopefully doesn’t affect the team’s performance.

Have you never given it thought that in the time of building a business, you see room for improvement or alternative ways of generating additional income in that period of time? There is always room for change for the better.
Buy the buds is 4 years in and within that time, like any business I am sure there have been may learning curves, just like GS when he took the chairmans role has learned a far deal greater than he did before about the running of a football club.
The club will STILL be fan owned regardless if the Kibble proposal is approved or not. Kibble are not here to take over, they are here to help generate extra revenue whilst boosting their own profile. As you are very aware, SMISA itself is run by many volunteers who already have full-time jobs elsewhere and dedicate a large chunk of their time to the association. Something I think that at times, these people get very little credit for.
I know I am explaining points that you already know and will result in a negative reply, as you have nothing positive to say about either SMISA, Kibble, GS or St. Mirren Football Club in general.

Yeah, sorry, I’m not sure where I got the idea that you didn’t like Gordon Scott from. I’ll take that back 😂
As far as I can see the SMiSA committee are asking the members to decide on the proposal. If the members don’t back it, then it doesn’t happen.
I think this is called democracy.
The committee believe this proposal enhances BTB. It’s up to the members to decide if they agree or not.
That’s how this is supposed to work.

Let’s not forget that Kibble are also saving SMiSA members £300K, an average of £250 a head.
We probably also shouldn’t overlook the fact that as 51% shareholders, SMiSA will have the majority shareholding of the football club, and thus the football club will be, by definition, “fan owned”. By the end of next year.
And its maybe worthwhile remembering that we get the benefit of the expertise and infrastructure of a 140 year old organisation who have a turnover 10 times the size of the club, working with us.
And we get all of this, with a partner who is not driven by profit, but rather one that exists to help young people develop and prosper.
Blind? Blinded by a personal grudge with the chairman I’d say.
