lovestlegend reacted to aldo_j in Oran Hits Back
Scott’s comments yesterday were stupid. He should have replied similar to Oran, it’s in the past and we move forward.
f**king naive.

I managed to get a crackin deal for the Coleraine game. Cairnryan to Belfast, car and 5 passengers for a total of £69 return. Less than £14 a heid.

About £50 return by coach/ferry from Buchanan St bus station to Belfast.

I agree we could have waited a few days before starting this debate, but hopefully Gus & Tony are already working on bringing new faces in.
The first thing we need is a settled squad going in to the friendlies and League Cup ties. Not this nonsense of using competitive games to try and work what needs to be done with the squad. Gordon Scott is making all the right noises regarding Gus MacPherson's role in ensuring this happens.
I hope next season we can play more attacking football and will be happy to take more risks, particularly with a quite weak looking Livingston surely favourites for 12th spot.
The first major problem we have is distribution from the back (other than Hladky). I honestly would be looking for replacements for everyone except Popescu. McGinn and Baird should be our back up players, not automatic first picks. If we are to compete we need defenders who are better on the ball, and full backs who can put in a more dangerous cross.
In midfield we lack creativity, I would only have Ryan Flynn down as first pick from the current squad. Magennis can hopefully improve with a run without injuries, but he is far from an automatic first pick. I'd like to see Erhanon in midfield when he does get a game, not left back ever again.
Up front Danny Mullen showed yesterday how could he could be either behind or beside a proper target man. Clearly bringing in a top quality striker or two must be our absolute priority, and hopefully we have been actively searching across Europe over the past months.
So only Hladky, Popescu, Flynn and Mullen should be down as automatic first picks for next season. We should be looking to make 7 or 8 top quality signings, and have the current guys like Paul and Stephen McGinn, Magennis and Cooke ready to fight for their spots.

One thing I think is a huge must, is to get Hladky on a long-term extension beyond his remaining 12months. Best goalkeeper in my 30+ years supporting the club and has won us points on his own.

Aye. Folk on twitter and Facebook saying it will be a party regardless. Players won’t be up for it if we’ve got play offs. -

Interesting reading Oran’s interview from today. Maybe he just doesn’t want to distract from Saturday but his chat about coleraine not being on his radar “at this time” doesn’t sound like an unequivocal denial to me.

Yeah, it's hardly the most convincing denial so maybe there is some truth to it after all.
Still doesn't detract from my rant on the other thread about folk being far too willing to believe random Twitter accounts.

Same for me, his words indicate he’s focusing on the next week and a half and not much after that.
I may be putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 18 but I’m now thinking he’s going back in the summer. -
lovestlegend reacted to Isle Of Bute Saint in Motherwell v St. Mirren 4th May 2019
Anyone thinking Hamilton at home will lose in the last game for me is nuts. Hamilton are not going to throw away the most important game of the season at home to guarantee to stay in the league. For us to get out of 11th spot went yesterday by drawing with Motherwell it was a must win game we failed anyone who thinks otherwise has nothing more than blind faith which is understandable of course. . It's now the play off's Oran would do well to start planning for it to make sure he has his strongest 11 ready for it. My opinion being Dundee United though I would not leave out ICT. So to a certain extent it's still in our hands with the play off's.

The email lists all the community groups who have benefited from using these tickets, probably including folk who have never been to a game before and will no doubt buy pies, drinks etc when they’re there.
I can’t see a negative although some people seem desperate to try.

Would have liked us to have shown a bit more ambition but if Oran thinks there’s a better chance at having a real go at accies then I hope he’s right.
Scott brown should have been sent off though.

You know it's really odd but you've been posting like this for about a week but for some reason you are adopting a "passive aggressive" role and somehow hoping the rest of us will simply read between the lines and see what you are getting at.
Cut the bollox and spit it out man. Exactly who are you accusing and what are you accusing them of?
We don't need two LPMs on this forum.

I don’t think there was ever a suggestion that the £2 spend had to be revenue generating. I’m quite happy with the choices they are giving us. Not everything has to be about making money.

Oran in the paper today saying he wants it played Friday April 12. Not sure why not just at that weekend.
ST MIRREN manager Oran Kearney has called on the SPFL not to punish his side because of the weather by trying to squeeze in their re-arranged game before the split.
The Paisley side’s match away to St Johnstone was postponed due to the poor conditions on Saturday and can’t be played either this weekend or next midweek due to international call-ups.
Kearney doesn’t think there is a suitable free date between now and April 6 – the last matchday before the split – and instead wants league bosses to consider adding to Scottish Cup semi-final weekend by scheduling the match at McDiarmid Park for the Friday night.
He said: “I can’t see how they can re-arrange this game for before the split as there isn’t a free date as far as I can tell. And I don’t think we should be punished because of what happened with the weather.
“This weekend isn’t an option as we’ve players away on international duty. And some of them won’t be arriving back until next midweek so that’s out too.
“The first available date would be the midweek of April 9 or 10 but that would mean us playing four games in 11 days which I don’t think would be particularly fair. The last thing we need is something crazy like that.
“If it’s going to be that week I’d rather they took it closer to the weekend. There are Scottish Cup semi-finals on the Saturday or Sunday so if we were to play on the Friday night that would make for a decent weekend of football.”
With both clubs likely to be in the bottom half of the table come the split, the game could yet be re-arranged for later in the season. But Kearney says he is sympathetic if the SPFL didn’t want to go down that road.
He added: “I understand there’s an ethical aspect to it. If there are still teams in the mix before the split then I can see why the league would want the game played at the proper time so as to be fair to all the other teams. But there has to be some common sense applied as well.”

Not at the moment Bud. Unfortunately when the Dome comes down because of weather there’s always the chance it has been damaged. Need to give the club a chance to let the weather pass, assess the potential damage, do the appropriate safety checks before the all clear is given to resume games and classes . -
lovestlegend got a reaction from munoz in St. Mirren v Kilmarnock, Monday 11th March 2019
They’ve not scored in 5 games and not won in 8. This is a massive chance for us against an off-form team.
