Why do some posters, namely Top Cat and look at me, have such a problem with Stephen McGinn? He may be down the pecking order just now, but he's been a fantastic player for the club over two spells, and was the on pitch leader who helped us stay in the Championship and then win it the following season. Without him, I believe we would have been relegated to League 1, and who knows, we might still be there, or at best mid table in the championship.
We should be indebted to him, not constantly having a go.

    Oh ye of little faith!
got a exclusive tip from LoveStreetzo that the upcoming pre season jaunt to Ireland is purely a cover for a detailed scouting excercise, and that Seamus the plumber, Donal head of tractors at the parks dept, Liam the chippy and Eoin who works down the bookies are set to be announced as soon as they put pen to paper! Thats the craic anyway things are bubbling away!

He either is so stupid (wonder at how he did at school and what job he does now?) and does not check the facts OR is simply trying to hook people in to get some attention.
Either way, there are better things to spend our time on than giving him this attention...
Thanks for posting the actual facts as opposed to the made up nonsense...

I’m not onboard with those who are talking up Dreyer . I don’t think he imposes himself on midfield enough , doesn’t offer enough of a goal threat as his show reel would suggest or give us any sort of cover for the defence ,
That said, like all saints players I do hope he does well and rams my doubts down my throat.... just don’t see it at the moment.

He's been noticeably less mobile in his last few games. I assume the situation got worse than expected.
I think he also wanted to "soldier on", which probably wasn't the best decision. I'd imagine this is why he was trying to play against Killie and us getting to ten minutes before kick off before he was taken out the team. I hope the operation goes well, and equally hope Magennis is able to come back, the other midfielders we have in there just aren't good enough to be honest.

A lot still to play for. The guys now know how much physical and mental effort is needed to get a result against a team like Aberdeen.
Lots of hard graft and discipline. Now on to Tynecastle

Got to agree.  Alloa are no mugs and neither is Big Jim.
Saw Alloa twice in the play offs last season and twice in the past two weeks.
Very organised and hard working.  Two big centre backs like time on the ball.
A few players catch the eye including the Hearts loanee and the lad Trouton is scoring for fun.

Me too - anyone thinking we won't bring in at least 5 but even as many as 8 is not sane - there are more to go too.
Glad Smith is away for his sake and ours - he will do a job for them, but he has not been good value for money this season.
I suspect Oran will utilise the wages freed up well - signings imminent...

Five things we need from midfielders. 1. Win the Ball.  2. Pass the Ball.  3. Make forward runs.  4. Track opposition midfield runners.  5. Shoot and Cross.
McGinn can do most of these as can Magennis.  Magennis is the more effective forward runner of the two(imo). Both Could be better at 4 in particular.
Finding the 9 players you are looking for?  Ask Gus.

We have to back Kearney. The difference between him and Stubbs is that apart from the naff signings he quite clearly lost the dressing room, how that happened...who knows.  OK is clearly  better in the man management and communication department. We need to allow the guy to build a team and hopefully see some improvement.

You know, I could swear if you replaced Alan Stubbs name with Alex Rae and Oran Kearney's name with Jack Ross, you were spouting the same pish almost two years ago.
Different managers but the one constant? You were a fanny then and you're still a fanny now.

I thought Kearney made a mistake early in the second half by not taking off one of Jackson or Mullen and putting on another midfielder. We were being over run and the game was lost in the 15 mins at the start of the second half. The rest of the game was pretty even, but the space Killie got in midfield at the start of the second half killed us. It was all way too easy.

Fair enough, a decent response. You are one of the fair minded posters on here. I’m a fan of Gus having met the man on a good few ocassions, I’ve always found him to be a gent.
I do however understand that his appointment split the fans to a degree, but for me he deserves his chance to prove that he can deliver in his new role.

The squad is an absolute shambles. Enough is enough. Time for Stubbs to fall on his sword.
I thought it was harsh when Rotherham axed him after 5 months, but it will be a bloody miracle if he lasts 5 months in this job.

If anybody really thought we could threaten any of the top 6 this season they are seriously delusional.
The talk about competing today is a fair point, but Aberdeen will take 4 goals off quite a few teams this season, especially at home.
I've thought that the top 6, who are, in no particular order, Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs & Kilmarnock, are streets ahead of the rest, and will hand out many a thumping to the other teams in the league.
Our survival depends, mainly, on what we do against the other diddy teams.
We've already beaten one, next week we have the chance to beat another.
The level of panic after today, not a surprise as the usual suspects have been waiting on any opportunity to blame the manager since he was appointed, is amusing.
This season was always going to be tough, even if Ross was still here.
The club need the support they got last season, always easier to "support" when we're winning, for some.
We looked today what we are, a team who've just come up from the diddy league and are still in transition.
Can we survive, who knows, but the club deserve support as it's well documented the difference that made last season.

I was there with my daughter.....the bottle thrown from the Rangers support as they celebrated their first goal just missed my daughter and hit the wee girl standing two seats away in the row behind.

Ideas didn't just "appear" to people like Einstein and Newton.
Those ideas were heavily linked to the work of others and they made connections to new ideas from many years of intensive study achieving mastery in terms of both depth and breadth of a wide range of subjects.
Newton suffered accusations of plagiarism throughout his life amd Einstein didn't possess the mathematics necessary to prove his work.
Both were highly flawed individuals who were allowed to get away with appalling behaviour because people white knighted them by calling them "geniuses".  When you call people things like this you enable them to believe the can act with impunity.
This terrible practice continues to this day. We saw it with Jimmy Savillie and a host of others.

I would suggest that the club hires in the services of a PR type consultant, as things appear somewhat out of control at the minute, should 2 employees be discussing company business (injuries) on social media, does the club have procedures for this, furthermore AS looks as if he could do with some media coaching!!

that will be progress and a chance like any smart dog to kick some grass over that shit and move on!
