  1. To be fair, we're all mostly saying the same thing, but think Hurst is one that our owner has wanted to talk to from the very moment that Mick left. The spanner in the works has been Shrewsbury getting through to the final, as otherwise a decision would have been made this week (I expect). We must have sounded out that Hurst would be prepared to come here, but win on Sunday, and he may feel like staying, whilst we have someone in Ross, who (seemingly), will take the job otherwise. I'm with you that it seems strange, but from our end (and the chap that runs our forum who has close ties with the club), Ross is the leading candidate with a decision expected latter part of next week.
  2. It's been said for over a week now (our end), that its between Ross and Hurst. I get the impression the job is Ross', unless Hurst has a cracking interview next week. We expect a decision by the end of next week (so probably a good thing that Ross has gone away). Hopefully, for both clubs sake (and its supporters) this will all be over soon!
  3. Indeed, that's the way I see it anyway. However, if your man Div is to be believed, this could all be over with come close of play Monday, and you'll finally get some closure, and we'll finally get a manager that basically our whole fan base wants!
  4. Do you honestly think Shrewsbury would let us talk to Hurst in the week leading up to the biggest game of their season? They'd be mad too, and not only that, I think I'd lose a little bit of respect for Hurst doing so. I think the feeling our end is, if we don't appoint Ross by Wednesday of next week, we can safely assume that our owner is waiting until the result of the play-off final next Sunday as to whether we make an approach for Hurst. Big weekend/early part of the week.
  5. Yes, I do. Paul Jewell had us sitting rock bottom of the division on 7 points before Mick came in, and he had to resign because Evans didn't want to sack him.
  6. Cheers. I think the one thing our chairman has is that, whilst we may not have a shed load of cash, you'll certainly get time to build something here, which Ross seems to fit the criteria. With regards to dithering, I just mean that in the past, we've had plenty of players at the club, with the pen literally in their hand to sign the contract, only for us to miss out on them - Charlie Austin is a prime example. Suppose we'll have to see how the weekend goes!
  7. Would not surprise me one bit if we was dithering around only to then lose out on Ross!
  8. Cheers, suppose we’ll definitely know within the next few days or not!
  9. Confident he’s joining us Elvis? Reports this way suggest it isn’t as done deal as what a few of you have said (not that I want to sound like I’m doubting you all, as you all genuinely seem in the know!).
  10. Out of curiosity, does Ross have his ‘own’ GK coach and physio?! As we’ve lost both of ours now so could do with those as well as Fowler!
  11. Fair play. Sorry to sound as if I was doubting you (didn't intend for it to be like that).
  12. Ha, apologies if I asked the wrong person, should have just asked the question in general, rather than replying to a specific post!
  13. Cheers. From a Town perspective, I'm going to say if Ross isn't appointed by Tuesday of next week, we can assume that we are actually waiting for Paul Hurst (to speak to at least). However, I hope Div is right!
  14. I take it Div is a source of reliable info around these parts? If you was to put on a scale, 1 being - Div has no clue to 10 being - Div knows his stuff and is always pretty much bang on, where would you put his latest info on the scale? (Ross being here possibly before the weekend) Cheers.
  15. As a few of us Town fans have mentioned, if Ross is on his alleged second interview this week, I imagine your Chairman and Ross would want a fairly swift decision. Again, as I said yesterday, I can't imagine Ross coming for a second interview, only to be told 'cheers for that, but can you wait 3 weeks for a decision because I want to talk to Shrewsbury and Paul Hurst as well'. Just seems strange that Ross would be on a second interview 2/3 weeks before we 'might' even get the chance to talk to Hurst first time around. Still, never mind, i'm sure it might be a bit clearer come the end of this week.
  16. Thing with Grayson, he doesn't quite fit our owners comments of 'we're going to be going down a different route', when he spoke a month or so ago. Grayson, or anyone of that ilk, can be dismissed in my honest opinion. I imagine the club is just trying to cover all bases.
  17. The only thing with that is, and as other Town fans have pointed out on this thread, if Ross is having his second interview this week, I really can't imagine he, nor your chairman would be happy for us to say 'cheers Jack, cracking second interview, but can you wait 2/3 weeks for an answer so I can see how Shrewsbury get on?'. Shrewsbury may well get promoted and Hurst stays there as well. I'd be surprised if we get to the end of the week and not be anymore clearer on the situation, personally.
  18. When he keeps saying 'its down to the clubs', I still can't work out what he means. Is it down to the clubs to agree compensation to get him here, or is it down to the clubs to agree for him to have talks with us (although we're lead to believe he had talks last week, and is set for them again this week)?
  19. I would have thought, and I know I keep saying it, but if we have permission to speak with Ross (again, second interview), that we would/should roughly know how much your chairman is looking for in terms of compensation. Ha, you're not wrong!
  20. Again, from a Ipswich perspective, I thought that as well. If he's had one interview, and is apparently set for another - perhaps it's now down to compensation for Ross and Fowler?
