  1. We did stop punting it in the 2nd half, so fair play. I think Mcmenamin and Mandron did make a difference, but again we've come away with nothing. Our form is currently woeful and we could easily come out of the next 4 games with 0pts (Aberdeen away followed by Celtic and Rangers at home and then Hibs away). A relegation battle is on the cards now unfortunately.
  2. We are definitely on a slippery slope. It's all really poor. 3-5-2 doesn't work. Just long ball after long ball up to the front two. Their big defenders are outmuscling Ayunga and Olusanya way too easily. I would bring on Mcmenamin for Olusanya and go 3-4-2-1 / 3-4-3
  3. Motherwell have been in the top league for 38 years. Aberdeen have never been relegated
  4. Correct! They have never been relegated. They survived one year due to league reconstruction, if I remember right.
  5. I don't think Carson and Gallagher can be classed as current internationalists. I doubt either will get another cap. Gone now anyway. Greive, Baccus, Strain, Gogic and Mcmenamin are current though.
  6. Dunne's out for 3 weeks. Manager Stephen Robinson said: β€œHe is not as bad as we first feared, we are looking probably about three weeks with Charles. β€œSo it is obviously a blow for us – but not as bad as we thought it was going to be. β€œHe has had a scan, he will be a similar time frame as Keanu (Baccus, who previously had a calf injury) so hopefully three weeks and he will be back available again.
  7. All clubs a player has played for in the two years prior to the tournament will be compensated. I think we had him for around 4/5 months before the WC. So, that would entitle us to around 20% of the total amount. His previous club would have got the majority. Not sure though. Perhaps his present club got a larger share than the previous club.
  8. https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cheltenham-town-fight-league-one-8537823 We can forget this one
  9. Agree! If we can get 500K for him, then we will be laughing all the way to the bank. He has had some decent moments, but tends to disappear more often than not. Also very prone to a booking. Add to that, he has been pretty awful since he came back from the World cup. Take the money (if offered) and boost the budget. Can be replaced based on our previous transfer business under Robbo.
  10. Overall a great season, albeit with an extremely disappointing end. In the end we basically threw away a magnificent chance to get into Europe. Last night, we just weren't at the races. Simple as that! Even before Small got sent off, Aberdeen just looked better. I don't think we would have got anything with 11 on the park. In my opinion, it wasn't only the post-split fixtures that done the damage. There were many points we threw away throughout the season. St Johnstone at home 2-2(injury time equaliser), 1st game of the season v Motherwell (Were by far the better team, but lost 0-1). There's 5 points for starters. Then after the split.... Hearts at home(injury time equaliser), Celtic away(late equaliser). Another 4 points. We were a bit unlucky with injuries too. Ayunga, Watt and Grieve. Oh well!!! At least we seem to have built a solid base to have another go next season. Onwards and upwards!!!
  11. I would happy to go with this...................................... It would be this least changes we have had in many a year. GK Carson Urminsky DEF Fraser Strain Tanser Gallagher Shaughnessy Tait 1 LB/CB Needed MID Baccus Flynn O’Hara Gogic Kiltie 1 MID needed FWD Ayunga Grieve Brophy Offord 1 FWD needed
  12. I would be happy with Ayunga, Grieve and Brophy next season. Using 2 of them with the other as sub/back-up
  13. Maybe so, but what chance is there, if the players and coaches don't show respect. They are the role-models.
  14. Over the last weeks, months and years this has been going on and probably getting gradually worse. Andy Robertson is the latest to get involved with a match official. Eventually taking an elbow to the face himself. In my opinion, match officials being constantly whined at by players and coaches only helps to lower the standard of refereeing. It puts them under more pressure, which eventually leads to more bad decisions. Referee's could have more of a chance if they were just left alone to get on with it. Something needs to be done. It is time to take a leaf out of Rugby's book. FIFA, UEFA and all the FA's have to put their foot down. The solution is pretty simple as far as I am concerned. All clubs should be informed that arguing and/or manhandling refs or assistants will no longer be tolerated. These are the rules that could be implemented................... Protest against a decision = Yellow card Protest a decision in an agressive manner = Red card Manhandle an official = 10 game ban 3 Red cards for this in one season = 3pts deduction. I have watched so many games where coaches and players are trying to ref the game and even somehow manage to infuence the ref. Time for it to end. Gradually over time players will develop an understanding that arguing with officials is not the done thing. Thoughts?
  15. What a day! What a performance! Absolutely loved every minute of it. We should be going all out to get 3rd place now. 3pts behind Aberdeen with 7 games to go. The prize for 3rd is huge. Guaranteed 5m and European football til Xmas. That would sort out our financial woes and some. COYS
  16. Here you go bud! This is a great pub. Best Pilsner Urquell in the city centre. Local prices. 17. But, I'll take that!!! 1-0 McGinn
  18. This is going to be a long day. A tough watch so far.
  19. Dunne was on the bench tonight, but Tait has had a setback and will be out for a while.
  20. Dire performance all round really. I reckon Taylor and Small are the weak links. Not great back up at all. How many times did the pair of them give the ball away tonight???? We really missed Dunne in the Taylor position and Tait is a big big loss too. Add to that, big Declan is as slow as a week in the jail and looks in trouble when Dunne is not there to cover him pace-wise. Injuries really haven't helped us. The squad is thread bare and the back-up is just not good enough unfortunately.
  21. Unfortunately Robinson just does not play with wingers. Hence why we don't have any on the books.
  22. I will happily except a draw tonight, so I am going 1-1
  23. Is that not the guy that scored the winner against Barcelona???πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„ Welcome Tony! Here's to a few goals.
