I agree that one is definitely up for debate. But my original point was that O'Donnell is not international standard and shouldn't be anywhere near our team.
We have the best squad of players we have had in years, but he isn't at the same level as the rest of the starting X1.
I also don't get the argument about his effort and making great runs. What is the point of making great runs if you give the ball away or cross into row Z once you get on the end of it. He has absolutely no composure whatsoever. That is the difference between him being PL standard and international class.
I would rather play one of our better players out of position at RB than O'Donnell.
Thank god we have Patterson. Fortunately he will be our RB for years barring injury.
The best compliment I can give O'Donnel is that he is a good honest professional.... A trier!!! But he lacks any sort of composure at this level. He is NOT an international standard player. He is a half-decent premier league fullback at best. Nothing more!
Boo boy???
The rest of the team deserve to be there and have played pretty well tonight. However, O'Donnell is just miles out of his depth and I cringe everytime he gets the ball. If he was international standard, he wouldn't be at Motherwell. I am so happy we have Patterson.
You nailed here! Quick translation of that is........ He is a headless chicken who loses possession almost everytime he receives the ball.
I'll put it another way, he is the weakest and least talented player in our starting X1. Surely you can't deny that?
We have at least 3 rb's who are better than him.
Palmer is better. As is, P McGinn and our very own Marcus Fraser.
O'Donnell is there based on an old pals act from Killie.
Jamie in the Irish starting X1 against Ronaldo and Co.
Ireland XI v Portugal: Bazunu, Duffy, Egan, O’Shea; Coleman, Cullen, Hendrick, Doherty; McGrath, Idah, Connolly.
The Ronan signing looks like a replacement for McGrath, I'm afraid.
2 pacey wide men still needed ideally. At least 1 MUST come in, if not, we are in for a dire season.
Erhahon sent off.
The club should do us all a favour, close the stadium again and switch off Saints TV. Otherwise I am going to pull the rest of my hair out.
We are definitely a weaker side than we were last season. We have no pace whatsoever. Replacing Durmus and Connolly in the next couple of days is vital.
I will be really disappointed if we don't replace Durmus and Connolly with similar types.
Also, I would be happy to see Erwin and McAllister being shipped out
Are we playing 3 at the back? It looks like a back 4 to me.
Anyway, I think today is one of those days that it wouldn't matter what formation we were playing. Too many individual errors. Especially from Alnwick and Power.
I would agree, Alnwick has been phenomenal since he has been here. But he must have been out on the lash last night because today he looks like has never played in goal before.
This is an absolute embarrasment!
Power and Alnwick should be fined for their part in this.
I don't know what the Premier league record score is, but surely it must be in danger today.
