Strange time to have a game, 5pm on a Tuesday. Nevertheless I think a vast improvement in form will be required to get anything but a defeat . Last game against them here we collapsed second half and shipped five goals . Try and avoid a sending off to give ourselves a chance.

Bad selection by the manager. Ayunga has had his chance and proved he is not good enough, neither is Olusanya. Things perked up with the late subs but still couldn’t find the net. Like a few others on here I struggle to see where any points are coming from in the next few matches. Still think we will avoid the play off spot but on current form, who knows.

Yet another away defeat, rather predictable these days. Don’t really fancy our chances against Killie as they have a bit of fight in them, which we don’t. Been like this for weeks now, unfortunately..

I understand that referees making the step up to the top division will lack experience but do these referees ever get their first matches in the top league with Celtic or Rangers games first? I very much doubt it. That is unfair. It should be a level playing field for everyone.
I would like to see the statistics on that. If they are deemed good enough for the top league then any matches should be considered.
The referee and his west stand assistant had a pretty standard game. Fcuking awful. The weakness of the assistant referees to get involved in helping the on field ref with key decisions in the game is baffling at times especially when the incident is clear and obvious and invariably directly in front of the assistant. It seems that all assistant referees only involvement is with ball leaving pitch and offsides. Given the latter is now VAR decided for goals it seems they receive a huge amount of cash for fcuk all.

Like most, I think another defeat is forthcoming. Very bad form recently.
-
Think we will end up eighth, but no relegation scrape.

Awful game. Well seen Livi support reflects their approach to football. Vast improvement required before Tuesday, presently just a shadow of the team from earlier in the season.
-
On current form, it will be three games and return home.
-
Won’t bother watching the highlights, just saw the result.
-
Bad result, unfortunately could see it coming.
-
Very lucky to get the draw in the end, but happy with that. Impressed by Jamieson who put in a few great crosses and took his goal well. Need to improve though before going to Dens.

Only listening, but Celtic an embarrassment as Scottish champions. Cannot deny a bit of schadenfreude mind. 😁

Good result. Continue to be impressed by Mandron.

“thrashing France on a few occasions”
When?
Best victory I ever saw against France was 1989 at Hampden.
I also saw the home victory at Hampden in 2006. I watched the away win on TV through McFadden which we were fortunate to win.
Neither were thrashings imho.
Perhaps you remember the 1932 away victory which may have been a thrashing.
I was in France in 2002 for a 5-0 loss. That was a thrashing. Could have been worse.
I’ve seen loads of England v Scotland games home and away and I’ve never seen a thrashing by us.
Same with Spain. Best victory was 3-1 with King Kenny scoring. You just seem to pride yourself on being a doom and gloom merchant.
My reference to the champions league was clearly a joke which is lost on you.
You don’t seem to understand that times have changed with modern football (especially financial investment). Although historically Scotland produced quality players and could compete with the larger nations we will invariably be underdogs because of the reasons I stated.
Great Scottish players down the years like Jim Baxter and Jimmy Johnstone (and many others) never even got to play at a major tournament.
That’s me told, eh.

I really should not respond. But I will.
All these nations have significantly larger populations, significantly more finance invested within their grassroots and national squads. We are a small nation who have just managed to secure back to back European qualification for the first time since the 90s.
Our club are currently in third place competing against far bigger clubs.
Last season to get to 6th place was incredible given teams below us had far bigger resources.
My guess is that the poster in question is just attention seeking. He knows nothing of the despair and desperation Saints and Scotland fans went on for a long period.
I honestly don’t know why these people bother with football at our level as it clearly upsets them when Saints don’t win the champions league every year and Andy Robertson is not currently parading naked through the streets of Glasgow with the World Cup.
Supported Saints all my life, so know about disappointment and have never even mentioned champions league so don’t know where you got that from. Also, those three countries have always been much larger but it previously didn't stop us administering Englands biggest ever home defeat, Spain, as current European champions,a 2-6 home defeat or thrashing France on a few occasions. I know things are different nowadays but my main point was the lack of any ,even vague, criticism after the latest defeat. By all means luxuriate in the qualification, it was a good job well done. Clarke is a vast improvement on previous recent managers, no doubt about it. So is Robinson. 👍

The heavy defeat didn’t seem to bother either the pundits on radio or tv. Perhaps they’re used to it after the third in a row. Definitely apologists content to indulge reverses because the team qualified for the euros. That’s fine if they are happy with that. I could hear the fans in the background singing, despite being 1-4 down as well, lol. Maybe it’s just a reality check and the team will improve before next years finals. One thing is glaring, though, the forwards are hopeless and need to be replaced. How he can keep playing guys who just can’t hit the net is baffling. Adams in particular is a fraud and should be discarded, he’s not even nuisance value. Thank goodness proper football returns this weekend. Saints need three points to get back on track as well. COYS.

Tonight
England v Italy
Kick Off 19.45
LIVE ON CHANNEL FOUR
Yet again, England game available to all whilst Scotlands latest reverse (probably wisely) confined to those who are able to subscribe to another satellite channel. It’s well seen that Saints have not been playing recently, lol😁

UEFA sells the rights to the TV packages which comes through a series of bids and will pretty well always go to the highest bidder, the SFA are to blame for many things but not in this case imo.
UEFA and FIFA both seem to be driven by greed and will pull their pants down for the highest dollar (see World Cup in Qatar for reference), that unfortunately permeates it's way through all the layers which ends up fleecing the fans. It doesn't effect me too much from a TV perspective because I attend all the home games and as many away games as I can afford. That said, on the occasions that I can't go away I'd love the games to be on "non-Satellite" or "non-PPV" channels. To watch almost any football on TV now you need at least "Sky" as an entry level, what is horrific is that they have plenty international games on but if your country's group is sold to "Viaplay" or "TNT" then you're ponying out even more money compared to other countries.
I subscribe to neither Sky nor any other satellite channels but I’m still able to watch England and Wales, that’s my original point. I understand your explanation of the reasons for our countries refusal to consider the fans, but I don’t accept them. I admit to being only vaguely interested in the national team but still think it’s very poor of the governing body to repeatedly ignore calls for games like this to be available to all.

Currently watching wales v Croatia on free view. How come both wales and England are able to show games free to air but Scotland won’t ?

Porteous, who I quite like, lost Rashford so many times last night and twice put us in trouble with silly passes.
Must have been comforting for Rashford to be up against a second division player, just like a few of his team mates. That was Clarkes big mistake. Wonder if any of Spains players are second division. Doubt it. Suspect a defeat is forthcoming.

Well beaten today, looked nervous from the start and after losing the player the team rather fell apart. Rangers are the first decent team we’ve played so far and they caught us out. Admittedly they have spent millions to do so, and are hardly world beaters. I think this result has been coming for a few weeks as we’ve not really been playing well recently. I agree with Olusanya being hopeless and think he should be dropped immediately. Whilst I cringe at some of the Rangers song sheet, their fans got behind the team throughout. ( wonder what happened to their banner, lol )

Just back. Seldom are games over and done with in less than a minute, this was an exception. But for our goalie, it could have been a cricket score. Glad football ceased for a few weeks as it’s been misery recently. Oh, did you go ?
