  1. Sure why not. I think I first heard about it on tomorrow’s world? On a timescale somewhere between the ozone layer disappearing and acid rain destroying the world. The timescale for the ice age has now been moved to between 2030-40 according to the Washington post article below. Don’t think I will bother investing in that air pump heater just yet.

Do you not think that the actions taken, e.g. banning CFCs, had an effect on those predictions?
  2. It’s literally the first line of the news article? To be honest they will probably generate a lot of scepticism if they start telling the masses that common localised weather phenomenon (only in mountain ranges, where are the mountain ranges around Rome and Cote de azure?)
I am still awaiting the mini ice age that the climate experts promised back in the 80s, just saying.
That's not what it says. There is a huge difference between the highest January temperature on record and the warmest January on record. The former is a recording of a single instance while the latter is the average of multiple instances over the month.

  3. This headline is really interesting, on first glance it appears to say that Scotland was warmer than Rome and the cote de Azure this afternoon (19 degrees) however when you read the article it’s actually a localised common weather effect that happens on mountains across the globe. Why are the BBC trying to fool people into thinking it’s the warmest January on record?

I don't see anything about "the warmest January on record". You're sounding a bit "climate change denier" there.
  4. Last time we drew them in the cup at home 2009 we beat them 1-0 a couple of weeks after they beat us 7-0 I'm sure, so it's not impossible, OK they're a different beast nowadays but no way invincible you can still get at their dodgy defence it's vulnerable, if someone in the main stand could pull the plug on the VAR feed and the team can keep it tight for the first 2 or 3 minutes they'll start to panic
And we have a great history of surprise results against them in the Scottish cup 2009 1962 1959 and 1926 I'm pretty sure Old Tom said he was at the '26 cup final with his Grandkids before he was hunted off the forum by faraway or one of his mob

The '26 Cup Final was definitely before this forum, so your story may be true. [emoji849]

Fix it or we get tooled up!

There are a lot of shysters these days.

Should have just bought the SNP bus.

    Hope you get sorted.

Too late, I've got it.  Cost me two packs of Jammie Dodgers and a Greggs sausage roll - I think I was overcharged.

The wording of the email indicates that the system has just been checked and these issues have came to light.

I would have thought this would have been checked when they received it from the previous owner.

If it was advertised as having it then (in my opinion) you would be right to assume that it is working.  Otherwise they could just stick a new one, still in the box, inside the vehicle and claim that it has one.

Just tell them to fix it before you collect it, as it was obviously priced assuming that it was working.

An interesting, if not totally surprising, issue is being discussed on the BBC news that there are a considerable, possibly close to a third, of prosecuted postmasters that were actually guilty of stealing from the post office.

With the proposed "blanket" approach to quash the prosecutions, this would mean some guilty individuals would see their sentences disappear and more alarmingly receive considerable compensation.

Quite how they could/would separate the good from the bad is a problem that might not be easy to solve.

According to Google, around 700 of the 900 prosecutions were led by the post office, with the others being done by the likes of the CPS.  I imagine those ones (the others) were possibly the more obvious frauds/thefts as the CPS etc wouldn't want to be taking on ones without decent evidence.  Maybe the 700 were knocked back by the CPS etc due to lack of evidence of criminality.  Just my thoughts on it.

There were obviously other sub-postmasters that paid the PO money that they didn't actually owe them to avoid prosecution.  It's all a complete f**k-up that could have been avoided if Fujitsu and the PO just admitted at the time that the system had faults, then fixed them - or maybe even tested it properly in the first place.

Deposit, a considerable one, already paid.

    That boat's sailed.

If the wording of the email states, or implies, that you were previously told that it was working, then you should be able to get your deposit back or have the system fixed before you collect it.

  9. Do RC get extra money for the coverage? If not I'm sure they'll be unhappy, as what little away support that may have travelled will almost certainly be impacted. by this decision.
Don't think so. Think there's a small payment to cover extra costs (electricity etc) but the rest is all down to league placing.
  10.
I'm not defending anyone using a mobile while at the wheel - but that guy doing the recording is a total twat.

Plus, he also recorded himself going on the right hand side of a traffic cone after a previous keep left sign.
