  1. Can’t have been straightforward/easy playing there, not knowing from week to week if Soufend might go bust and he’s out of work and having to move.
i see he wanted to leave soon as they got relegated, club tried to hold on to him, but he was not interested. Southend had been screwing the players over during covid, trying to put some on furlough… to save money while they weren’t paying HMRC.
what kind of club would be so shitty…?
    Rhetorical question?
  2. Not sure they were throughout his tenure, but its, again, not as simple as money. [emoji849]
Look at the English league this season.
Good/great mangers are that because they get the best from players.
You only need to look as far, and it's not very far, at our current manger.
I never said it was ALL about money but the fact that all teams in the EPL are earning in excess of £100m must have some sort of "levelling" effect.
  3. He was very close to being sacked.
The win against Crystal Palace probably saved him but it's stretching it a bit to indicate that it's down to money as if you look at what teams spend it's FAR from that simple.
The point about money is that more teams have it and some have considerably more than Man U. In Fergies day Man U were at the top of the rich list by a considerable margin (for most of it). Maybe a fair bit of that was down to Fergie himself and his success, though.
  4. IF there was any doubt how much of a genius Ferguson was......

Not saying he wasn't but it's not really a fair comparison due to the knee involved now. Also, if someone had his early track record at Man U these days, they would probably get sacked.
  5. I like your thinking [emoji3166] if only there was also some way for people not to get sick over the weekend and after 5pm and I think we may have cracked it.
Simple, just pass a law saying so - and throw in ones about having good weather all day, summer 11.5 months a year (2 weeks of light fluffy snow round about xmas), everything free and no shitty jobs (you will need money when going on your 6 months of vacations abroad) and it's sorted.

This is feckin easy, why hasn't anyone ever thought of this before? [emoji6]
  6. the two right-angled parts either side of the beam are forks, they are being used to support the beam
The man must have pissed off while you were zooming in on the photo, or more likely fell off.
I assumed you were talking about forks as in forklift type forks. So clampy/grippy thingies are also called forks?
  7. Some wisecrack on another platform said the reason for the lack of buses to that area was there was only one guy waiting for a bus!
They had a decent point I thought. [emoji23]
The article had Councillor John Hood pictured 4 times on his own.

I think Stevie, the owner of Key Coaches, might be retiring. He's well past retiral age and probably just wants to relax.

Let's play, spot the person on the forks. [emoji1787]

    Nope I COULDN'T see anyone either. [emoji1787]
Maybe it's just cos I can't find my glasses, but I can't see any forks, never mind someone on them. Looks more like a big clampy/grippy thingy (feck knows the right terminology) holding the big red metally thingy. And if you think that's bad, you really don't want to hear me explain how da interweb workees.

  9. Agreed. But even if Kettlewell is still in charge on Saturday, there's still the old custom of generous St. Mirren giving a team in difficulties a hand to break out of a bad run. We've seen it all too often over the years. So, no complacency, a repeat of last Saturday's performance, everybody in good form and playing at full blast please.
    COYS!!

Supporters of every team think the exact same thing about their team. I think it's a case of only remembering the good or bad results and forgetting the expected, "mundane", run-of-the-mill ones.
