  1. Apparently Faraway isn't going either. Not for his usual reasons but for safety. He looks too much like a monkey to be safe around folk from Hartlepool.
  2. He's a Glasgow PH driver, so he probably hasn't.
  3. Aye, but they missed all his good points like appearing, and having the piss taken out of him, on HIGNFY, getting stuck on a zip slide while waving two wee Union Flags and, em, there's bound to be more. That should more than make up for things.
  4. The 12 months is apparently a rule of the backbench 1922 group thingy, who also have the power to change that rule, so it isn't set in stone.
  5. The biggest issue is that suppliers (who should be the experts) won't raise issues they know about because when the buyer realises it later, they have to pay extra as an additional piece of work, and that's why everything goes over budget. Like most things, the people that have to use it or work in it, are never consulted. It's what comes from employing career managers who know how to get grammatically correct bits of paper in on time but who don't know anything about the details on the bits of paper.
  6. Oh, FFS. How can it be a "different" context when I never put any context in my post (due to the aforementioned "everyone already knows" situation)?
  7. Politicians wasting tax payer's money, hoodathunkit? I'm with The Big Yin on this, "The desire to be a politician should bar you for life from ever being one". They're all a bunch of shysters, just some (usually the ones in power) more than others.
  8. That's not a different context, that's just an possible explanation for the point I made. As everyone (I assume) knows about colonialism and the associated immigration, I didn't see the need to include it and waste my time typing it. Having to type this reply has now negated that time saving exercise, so thanks for that.
  9. Booing a national anthem, for example, is quite obvious, but booing when two groups are doing different things - how can it be proven what action, if any, is being booed? Eastern European countries are decades behind Western ones in things like racism, they'll get there though, eventually. Not that Western ones are perfect, by any stretch of the imagination. Anyway, aye, poor Engerlund.
  10. Has it not happened at certain domestic matches in England when teams took the knee? The problem is that I wouldn't think that they could prove that was why the booing occurred. It could be claimed they were booing their own players for not doing it, or any other reason at all.
  11. And everyone else who plays England to do the same.
  12. The one time the ball was Putin Ukraine's net?
  13. Might not be over yet. [emoji16]
  14. 2023, it's every 2 years. But, he might not be going: Kenya and Zimbabwe were included in the draw despite being temporary suspended by FIFA from all international football activities. However, if the suspension is not lifted two weeks before their first match of the qualifiers, both national teams will be eliminated from the competition.
  15. You ever been whipped around the bollocks with a whip made of thistles? Not a nice experience - or so Faraway told me, well, in fact, he said it was quite pleasurable but he's a weirdo. [emoji16]
  16. Handing out lyrics in Ukrainian to a bunch of drunken Scots who don't even know the tune? That'll work well. [emoji1787]
  17. "Most" is a bit of an understatement. [emoji1787]
