  1. I’m in the same position, sitting over an hour away from Paisley. I’ve already had a moan about the fact that we’re only releasing details about tickets 5 days before the game. Add in the lack of online sales and no details as to whether you can actually have them posted out (maybe you can if you are lucky enough to get through on the phone line). Apparently no sales on the day at the stadium - although we’ve been told that before and turned up at grounds to find a ticket booth in operation. That for me is a real disappointment having previously went out of my way to drive to Paisley to the ticket office, only to find match day sales at away stadiums. I get that clubs want to keep last minute match day sales to a minimum but find that a shambolic way to treat fans.
  2. I generally agree with the point you’re making but I’d say that the Aberdeen game is precisely the circumstance that does impact attendance. Similarly home games versus the OF where fans can choose to stay away from everything that goes with it and still see the game from home/pub. Agree that success on the park (or sometimes relegation battles) are the main driver of attendances. It’s also about marginal gains as well and that’s where we’ve not helped ourselves with late season tickets release, not getting fans into early games due to poor Covid admin, now delays at turnstiles, no away fans, etc. Add into the mix that this week we’ve not been advertised how to buy a ticket for an away game to Hibs on Sat. We’re really not getting the basics right and I just find it so disappointing.
  3. Yeah, it’s crap but I guess we can’t have it both ways. People complain about the old firm being featured almost every weekend by sky but then if we get a game like Saints v Dons it results in a loss on revenue like you say. Not ideal.
  4. Thought he was excellent on Saturday and plays well beyond his young age. Excited to see him develop.
  5. I’ve no idea Alan. You could try asking Tony.
  6. Over tannoy a few minutes after match finished so quite a few fans would have missed that announcement. Thanks. I think that kind of reinforces my point if that’s the case. We’ve got a website, Facebook, Twitter, email and access to the PDE. It’s shambolic that we’re sitting 6 days from a game and not conveying information about tickets. Even more so if we apparently know the information but have only chosen to put it out over a tannoy announcement at a noisy stadium after a match has finished.
  7. Yet another thing example of clubs treating fans like shit with this game on the horizon. Here we are, 6 days from the match, and we still have no ticket news from St. Mirren or Hibs. In what business is that acceptable to give customers such short notice?
  8. I was passing at the same moment and heard that. Didn’t quite pick up on whether it was home fans or away fans that had opened the gate but I did notice there was a DUFC supporters bus parked in the car park next to the west stand which is unusual. Those fans would have had to walk a long way round to get to that bus if they weren’t being allowed through the gate.
  9. It reads to me that the club applied on 23rd Aug and there’s been to & fro’ with the council since then and things to be corrected and addressed. The documents shown also state that the approval would apply moving forward for future games. Anyway, it appears that the game went ahead and was never ‘in doubt’. There’s plenty to criticise the club about just now without making stuff up specifically to cause trouble. Gie it a rest.
  10. You’d think that a number of the issues that they are now ironing out (I.e. mitigation of risk via face coverings) could have already have been addressed a long time ago. I think that’s why we saw most clubs gradually increasing their stadium capacities with approved exemptions over the course of pre-season friendlies, cup games, European games and then league matches. It appears we were left behind and are only now fully navigating that process. A simple answer to what exactly prevented this from being possible would be good. It appears that we didn’t welcome St.Johnstone fans last week and have only invited a very limited number of Dundee Utd fans this weekend, presumably to try and limit the crowd to under 5,000. Yet more money lost for the club.
  11. Does anyone know the rough breakdown of shareholdings in the club? Smisa - 50.1% kibble - 27.5% Are there any other significant numbers in the remaining 22.4% or did all the big shareholders get their payout when SMISA/GLS purchased in 2016?
  12. I did the maths on this last night and it appears to check out albeit a marginally better deal for Kibble. Kibble got 27.5% for £400k. £14,454 per 1% (without knowing the no. of shares this equates to, but I’m sure someone will) SMISA got 22.7% for £331k. £14,581 per 1%. It was originally supposed to be £615k for 42% which would have taken SMISA to 71% shareholding in total. I can only assume that SMISA would have been willing to deal with GLS for the other 8% but were originally told he wanted to retain it. Which makes the current manufactured scenario all the more strange.
  13. So... was there any clarity to who actually has the contract now? Is it Asigura sub-contracting to SGL or did we have to cut Asigura out of the loop and go straight to SGL?
  14. If that was a H&S issue then I struggle to understand how we were allowed to operate with even a limited capacity. Maybe we never had anywhere near the required number of stewards to support a capacity above 1000 when they attempted to employ Asigura for the job. Considering they seemingly got binned and replaced with SGL for the next game.
  15. Failed to deliver any time he’s had a chance in the last season and a bit. Granted he’s not had a run of games. Strange one though as he was getting talked up big time by the likes of Thommo and Michael Stewart a couple of seasons ago but doesn’t seem to have progressed. For someone that fancies himself for set pieces as well his delivery and passing is often poor. I’m guessing that as a club we are always looking to sell players and must think that we have more chance of getting money for Erhahon than we do for Cammy.
  16. Indeed. Rae got punted for similar football. And being a c**t.
  17. Hardly think this is the place for anyone from the club to answer questions. It would be interesting to hear a Q&A at the club though. They were happy enough to field questions during the sales pitch.
  18. That’s positive to hear at least! Out of interest, where do these guys normally work for Kibble in terms of delivering restaurant service? I’m sure I’ve read that Kibble have a catering service which is presumably geared towards delivering services to their facilities but I’m wondering if it’s one and the same thing?
  19. Oh ffs, I laid out the extreme ends and literally said that b & c, as the middle ground are reasonable. The only strong option left in the debate was yours, which you stuck to on you melodramatic reply. Anyway, I’m fast recognising there’s literally no point engaging with you. Any discussion just gets shouted down as negativity as you aim to drown out debate or questioning of the club. Meanwhile: Strips - sub standard Season tickets - late going on sale Season ticket cards - late being delivered Return of crowds - not maximising attendance for first games back after 16 months Return of away fans - not confirmed , more lost revenue Kiosks - not ready 1877 club - not ready
  20. You are incredible. I literally laid out 4 options and acknowledged that we have to rule out option A (which from a consumer only perspective is actually the best resolution) as it’s too much to ask of the club. You are incapable of even seeing other perspectives.
  21. FFS Baz. I get where you are coming but save the I’m not wanting to the club to suffer ‘there is a market’ pish. If we’re talking on those terms then I’d suggest that the club would do far better to cater to the wider market, rather than the to one that you sit within (which is willing to accept sub-standard products). There’s plenty of options here that could avoid the alternatives of the tunnel vision outcome that you have. Here’S a few ideas: a) Club take the hit on re-design, re-order of proper strips. b) Club discount tops by 10%. c) Club sell at full price but offer 10% discount off next year’s strip - thereby passing option to fans whether to take money from club or not, and also ensuring that it comes from an extra sale next season should that occur. d) Club does nothing. Surely to god you can see that b & c are more reasonable? I can accept that A is a hard option for the club. As for you not wanting to take money from the club - I’d suggest that you could counter balance any unwanted discount by simply buying an extra match ticket. That would actually deliver far greater profit margin to the club than any strip discount.
  22. There’s no way they’re going to get a batch with Digby Brown designed i tot the fabric rather than patched - or ones without Skyview printed & patched. As Provan said to you - cost and order numbers would make it a non-starter. They’d also have a queue at the door with fans wanting to exchange their current sub-standard product.
