By knocking back £200k the club aren’t taking a punt on getting a higher amount. They’re simply saying “get real or f**k off and we’ll keep our player”. Under what circumstances do you think the club would end up taking a worse offer near the end of the window?

I know what you are both saying and yes, we’ve always been a selling club, but in the old days we enjoyed those better players for longer. Players back then were prepared to sign longer contracts because they didn’t have the power. Nowadays as soon as anyone shows the slightest bit of promise, they’re off either at the end or near the end of their inevitably short contract.

I liked his direct style and he definitely was capable of giving defenders a torrid time, but agree that he tended to undo most of his good work by being too greedy or making poor decisions. I wouldn’t be upset if we hung onto him. He offers something a bit different.

Definitely in my top 5 players I’ve ever seen play for the Buds. Unplayable at times. Was nearly greetin when he left. Probably because I had moved to Jersey and there was far less TV coverage then, but I have zero recollection of his second spell with us.
