  1. Don't think Basil is saying its a never ending trail. Only as far as sell on clauses are included. I think it unlikely that if Villa sold him they would be including a sell on clause, These clauses are very much about potential. If Villa sold him to a bigger club, I think he'd be reaching his potential and they'd be looking for cold hard cash. Therefore when they sold him they'd pay out Hibs, who would in turn pay out us. Then that would be the end of it.
  2. Cheers mate, but I'm afraid that didnae work. Still seems to know I'm abroad.
  3. On the basis that Bazil was 100% spot on all along about the player swap scenario, I'm gping to believe that he's right about this too. Apart from anything else, it stands to reason. Hibs could royally shaft us otherwise, as long as they were pretty confident that McGinn would move on to bigger or better things.
  4. The lads are truly outstanding. I thought my singing at fitba matches days were well and truly over. Far too auld and sensible for any of that nonsense. However, at the matches I attended last season and the season before, I found myself transported back to the late 70s Northbank version of me. They are just so infectious you cannae help gettin carried away. At the 2-2 game in Inverness I was like a man possessed. Great fun. Well done lads and I hope your numbers continue to swell.
  5. Don't know about you, but when I first started goin tae Love Street there wurnae any corners!
  6. Hmmmmm. Or so I thought. Has BBC got some way of telling you're on a VPN? The one I use has never let me down but iPlayer saying you can only view in UK despite the VPN being set to UK. Feckin annoying.
  7. Shut it you. Bet a big snobby Houston punter like yersel didnae drink in Jaybees like...erm....Jaybee.
  8. And yet despite this, you were never invited to become poet laureate TT. Damn disgrace. Damn disgrace indeed.
  9. If I was forced to commit one way or another, I'd concede that Ricky does start an awful lot of sometimes bizarre, sometimes pointless, sometimes repetitive threads. I don't know Ricky and because of this, I still have an inkling that he's at it a wee bit. There's definitely a touch of the cheeky wee monkey about him. You can always tell when a new thread pops up just by the title if it's a Ricky thread or not. On the other hand maybe he is just a slightly overzealous super fan with a wee bit too much time on his hands. Either way he definitely loves the Murn. What I really don't get is the absolute seethe from some on here, borderline bullying in fact. I just don't understand it. If you see a thread has been started by Ricky, just ignore it. Seems like that group have as much time on their hands as Ricky, because all they seem to want to do all the time is be up in arms about Ricky's board contribution. Think of the time you'll save and the positive impact on your blood pressure if you just avoid Ricky's threads.
  10. Cheers mate. Yeah I know, I can normally too but on holiday so only have my iPad. On BBC iPlayer you only seem to be able to watch the main BBC1 live, rather than the regional ones. Wanted to watch Sportscene last night, but I’ll be able to watch it now on catch up I guess.
  11. Can you watch bbc1 Scotland live on iPlayer or only the English version?
  12. I'm on holiday at the moment so only managed to catch the second half on SMTV. I can only assume I missed some horrendous stuff in the first half? I'll admit that in the first 15 (20 max) minutes of the second half we looked a bit wobbly and seemed to be getting overrun. Dundee obviously had 2 or 3 good chances to score. After that we got a grip and were by far the better team. I don't remember Dundee creating anything of note after that. Coulsen had a howler? Again can you fill me in on his first half nightmares, because all I saw in the second half was a couple o his trademark mazy runs going forward and defensively I never saw anything to set him apart from the other defenders.
  13. If he wasn’t he’d be a f**kin idiot.
  14. Surely by that rationale then if Hibs really wanted Allan then “the deal would already be done”. I just think I’d rather have the cash to spend on whatever player I want. At the end of the day though it won’t make much difference as realistically Allan can’t carry much of a valuation. Anyway looks like it’s all immaterial given the rules so Hibs won’t be shafting us either deliberately or unintentionally.
  15. Sorry mate, genuinely not being obtuse, but I don't follow. If Celtic pay Hibs 2.5mm, Hibs get 1.675m If Celtic pay Hibs 1m and some players (that they may or may not actually want), Hibs get 666k. How is that beneficial to Hibs just because they also got a few of Celtic's cast offs. Genuinely lost.
  16. If the proposed West Stand display and the current ticket sales are both true, then it’s going to look a bit shite.
  17. How would that be Hibs shafting us Soctty? Hibs will do their very best to get as much cash as they possibly can. It’s not in their interests to do anything else. Celtic will only pay what they are prepared to pay and Hibs have no control over that. If Celtic choose to throw in a player to the deal, Hibs can only make a decision on the offer proposed to them.
  18. I’m not normally a soppy sentimentalist, but on this occasion I think you may be right. At the very least, I think it would take a lot more than a few extra bob flung at him by a club like Hibs for him to leave us. As for Hibs/John, as I said before, if the comments about him only wanting to play for Celtic are true, then I think Hibs may have shot their bolt. If I were Celtic I’d retract my 2.5m offer, wait until deadline day, offer a much reduced but still sizeable new offer (say 1.5m) and let Hibs take it or leave it. Safe in the knowledge that if Hibs knock them back, then they can just wait till January and get him for nowt.
  19. I will take you at your word on that and reiterate my
  20. For all your delusions of urbanity, you really are a bit of a moron aren’t you? To be clear, I never questioned anyone’s sense of humour.
  21. Fair dos mate. I’m not arrogant though. I’m a smart arse. There’s a difference. Smart arses are often wrong and have to admit to being so. Obviously not on this occasion though! Arrogant people (like Oaksoft) are as you say po faced and never admit they are wrong. Also arrogant people (like Oaksoft) do this other thing. When they post something twattish and everyone naturally rounds on them, they pretend they were being “humorous” As for you, I genuinely missed your humour on this thread mate, but that’s not to say you weren’t being so. I really really hope the misspelling of “bear” above was deliberate though, just to mock me
