  1. I just love the thought of wee Lewis terrorising the Nigels.
  2. Simple. Coz we don’t have another right back who isn’t completely and utterly shite. Robertson has been superb at left back so no fair to drop him. Tierney didn’t have his best game last night, but he’s played just fine at right back in the past. Until he got injured, Calum Paterson was starting to look the part, but for the time being unfortunately Tierney is the best option IMO
  3. Jimmy H comin up for the Morton game at the end of this month. Just sent him a message sayin "Morton game live on Alba!".....wee scamp that I am.
  4. That explains it. You managed to miss the first goal which I understand is commonplace, but missing the last 10 minutes of both halves was unforgivable!
  5. Were you pished on the Periscope yesterday by the way?
  6. Is Billy Thomson standing on a box?!?!? He makes Dibble look like a midget!!
  7. Since the transfer window closed I think our league record at home is P10 W8 D2 L0. In all competitions it's P15 W12 D2 L1. Decent!
  8. You must wear a Saint Murn bonnet...with havesexualintercoursewith Morton on it.... Doesnae really scan...
  9. Well we finished bottom of the league so I'll let you draw your own conclusions.
  10. This post is a pure riddy. As is the majority of this thread to be fair.
  11. Remember the old “The Saint” newspaper in the 70s? I loved that. A proper paper. None of yer new fangled glossy pish. Mind of one front cover displayed either Fitzy or McGarvey (cannae mind which) sawing a lump of wid. That’s what am talking about. Match reports, special interest features etc. Couldnae wait to get ma copy. Those were simpler times. Better times. Sniff sniff. Wasn’t it produced every week too?
  12. Yeah I agree and as I said he was wasted on us to the point where his skills were almost rendered ineffectual. Great players for me though are players who have had a sustained positive impact on the team and in that respect Víctor wouldn’t even be on my radar.
  13. Lambert must’ve done something right at Motherwell to get the move to Dortmund in the first place but I agree with WC that he only became a great player after going there. Either way, we certainly didnae benefit in any way from any influence Víctor may have had over Lambert. Checked wiki by the way. If it can be believed, Víctor only made 18 appearances for us. Barely enough to have any influence over anything. Probably the best player ever to have played for us in the modern era, but I reckon not even in the top 25 of best players while with us. If you know what I mean.
  14. Harsh in the extreme. I personally thought that was verging on an Ivor Novello nomination.
  15. Victor played what? 20 games max for us? He might have been a great player in his own right but he was wasted on us. The duds he had around him weren’t on his wavelength and he must have cost us a fortune. So I wouldn’t regard him as “the only good thing” at all. Complete and utter waste of money.
  16. Well I was a "healthy" young man at the time.
  17. Thankfully no. Crucially that was the first and last match I ever took a girlfriend to. I should also clarify that the very next day I went crawling back to her begging for her forgiveness.
  18. Ha Ha. Aye. By Hammarby I had moved on to "chucking" my girlfriend as my huffy response to a painful defeat.
  19. I remember I wouldnae go out to play fitba with ma pals after that game, I was in such a cream puff. 9 years old and thought my world had come to an end.
  20. Kinnell!! Makes St. Mirren TV look like a Hollywood production.
  21. To be honest I thought that was a pretty fair assessment. Nothing like wee Fatty Robertson’s rantngs from the other week. That was hilarious.
  22. Bit sensitive seeing as it wasnae even you that said it was brutal . As for the league being “brutal” that’s a whole other discussion and totally subjective. On that basis you could argue the whole of Scottish football is brutal. But that’s not what we were talking about was it. Anyway, relatively speaking I think it is definitely silly to say we were brutal yesterday. That’s all I was saying. You have my permission to think differently.
  23. It wasn't great, but to say it was "brutal" is a bit silly. We had some good spells but for the most part it was more of a "got the job done" performance. JR summed it up when he said it wasn't our most cohesive performance this season. I think that's a fair reflection. Then again we've set a pretty high bar in that regard this season. It can't be sparkling football every week. Especially in those conditions. If we will all the games where we don't play brilliantly 3-1, I'll be quite happy.
