  1. Yes!!! 3 points, clean sheet also!! Despite the refs best efforts, what a difference a week makes!!
  2. Same thing. Either way he was the good times and everything that has followed has been pish.
  3. Got the talent. It's just confidence in front of goal
  4. Would have done the year after we sacked Lennon
  5. Yep - careful what we wish for. I'd have taken Danny Lennon and 7th in premiership and some cup finals every few years any day.
  6. Yep. Not recovering this that is for sure. I can't believe how far we have fallen, but truth is we are still in free fall. Preserve the youth set up at all costs. Might take a good few years of part time. But I don't care. I just want to travel to paisley, pay my money and see us win. If that's in league 1 or 2 I don't care. Far too many years of winning a handful of games in the premiership, now we can't win even one in championship. Wherever we end up make it somewhere where the odds are 50/50 we may win every week
  7. This game could go on for 5 hours and I doubt we would score.
  8. Gutted tonight but the record had to go sometime. Team is so scared right now and hiding from the ball. We really needed a lift from the new manager and that hasn't happened. Puts the pressure on rather than relieving it. But, whatever happens there are two guarantees: - fans abusing players has never ever helped anyone. - the new boss and his team are here for the long term and need our support It was a big task to give a new manager, but that's the path the club chose and got to stick with it It is absolutely true to say things will get better, can't get any lower than tonight that's for sure
  9. Great servant to the club, done an amazing job and sorry to see him go. Sounds like a great opportunity for him and wish him well.
  10. Bemused by our last few appointments but I'll take this one in the fashion I always do, but getting behind Alex, the team and giving them every chance to pick us up and if we are really lucky, win a game at home, Welcome Alex to the greatest football club in the world.
  11. Trouble is we have just paid off Spalding, Miller signed an end of season deal who would need paid off. More poor decisions by our BoD. Pissing the little cash we have on more bad decisions.
  12. That's it for me - Murray and his sitting back long ball sh*te can get lost
  13. Feel for Mark. Scapegoat here and suspect (could be wrong) he left a paid job/career to take up full time role at saints and he's been ousted. Wish him all the best, sure he's a great coach and with a bit more experience will prove a few wrong. This however suggests that Murray doesn't have the know how to coach and or tactically prepare at this level and needs some help. I like the idea that some more experience will help, think it will, but the BoD will be a little annoyed that Murray at interview sold them on fact he could deliver us back to premiership with Mark as his No.2 Fair play to BoD for giving him another chance on some fixed timeframe to get us up the league. But we can't wait forever.
  14. Jeeeeeezuz! WTF are we all about. Livi r pish, so are M*rton and Dumbarton so what does that make us!!?
  15. Looking forward to this double game week against livi, could be the catalyst for the season to get started, should beat them. Especially since they seem to have players that find playing us a bit boring: http://m.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/livingston/craig-sives-bored-by-prospect-of-playing-st-mirren-twice-1-3867652 Hope he's bored picking ball out his own net!
  16. Langfield and Goodwin different class but it's amazing to see how far we have come in terms of our style of play. We are well and truly at our level in this league.
  17. I agree, but better than nowt which is what we would have got had he gone to Houston. Good luck to him, I'm not sure we're anywhere near as weakened by this as we were when Kenny left.
  18. [/quote i don't think Brian Caldwell is the problem at the club. And I'm not sure that making those decisions is anywhere near his remit anyway. i know some of the people you associate with have a problem with Brian, but that is based on their petty gripes about not getting Brian to do their beck and call. The guy is focussed on the bigger picture at the club. I agree, he's not the issue he signs the players the manager identifies, restricted by the boards budget parameters. He administers the club day to day activities very well and communicates with the fans well also. He has a tough job, limited decision making capacity, mediator between dressing room and board room and running the day to day activities.
  19. I cannot believe we couldn't get a response from the team tonight. Total disgrace. One ball - punt it. We will struggle in Championship like this. I remember the Dunfermline game away on first day of season couple of years back, Danny Lennons first team. 0-0 couldn't score (whats new!?) but I left that game delighted with the way we played, slick passing, team of fit fighters and whilst the early optimism faded I cannot believe how far downwards we have come since then! We cannot pass, we cannot communicate (how many times did the defence go for the same ball?!), we sure as sh*t cannot score and we don't know where to be tactically. If this was part of a play to 'take us forward' when we got rid of Danny, I can only assume it was forward towards ruining the club. Of all of our squad, i would keep McGinn (unlikely), Goodwin & Thommo next season..............maybe also Arquin..(my arse!)
  20. what a shambles. I do feel for Teale, but not enough to suggest he shouldn't have delivered more points or at the very least a team fighting for survival since he came in. Tough gig for his first post thought. Bottom line is we have bought pish players for too many seasons, refused to pay an extra hundred quid a week here and there on player wages and we are seeing that come back to haunt us now. The first half was summed up for me when the mic picked up Teale shouting 'hoof it' to Jason Naismith who had plenty time to take a pass. As well as the board and players, we need to accept that tactically we are mince also.
  21. Nah, get yerself up to The Gellions and watch the real saints on the TV! 1-2 saints. two nil up at half time and sit back in second half for us fans to have a right squeeky bum. Looking forward to going to the game. Not sure the rallying cry from the BOD was any use, we all know what's at stake here. I will still be going and shouting my usual pish from the stands Premiership or Championship forever more.
