Note To St Mirren Board Of Directors....
Highland Saint replied to Drew's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Good note from Utd, been impressed how they conduct their business and there is always a bigger fish in the sea. Utd hoovering up every decent thistle player and celtic theirs. I'm more optimistic today. We have a new management team that have a real hunger to win. They will get the best out of the players we have and I never felt that under TC. Goodwin' last few games are a prime example as is Mallan's early signs of development. Onwards and upwards. -
Must have release clause. For him it would be a good move in many ways. Very sorry if he leaves, been our one shining light this season. A brilliant talent that's been great for us. But we need to bring in 3 players today, rather this happened at this stage of the day rather than at 10pm.

Partick Thistle V St Mirren. Spfl Premiership 30.1.15
Highland Saint replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
YES!!!!!! Superb. I've been critical of goodwin over the years but him and cheesy were immense tonight. 85minutes of squeaky bum. I'm off for a lie down! -
Good signing, need a defender still but looking forward to seeing him providing the ammunition for the strikers.

Travelled up A9 last night, it's pretty bad, snow at side of road above the wing mirror in height. Good bit of snow around on ground also. Be safe buddies! -
Jeezuz! That would be a disaster. Maybe only eclipsed by Davie Irons as his assistant. I'd take butcher (1st), Murray (2nd) but haven't ruled out teale getting us going again. I love billy stark, mans a legend, but not convinced his managerial record is what we need.

That's actually true. How anyone can treat the fans and press with such disdain, put that out on the park and expect anyone to think it's 'about to click' is beyond me. He may well be here to stay but not all season. It's just the unknown of how many more games of this pish the BoD have to put up with. 18 months salary (worst case) is drop in the ocean compared to several seasons in championship and nae cup runs.

The Tommy Craig Must Go Thread
Highland Saint replied to Flareybob's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
I just can't see the board doing anything until the till receipts are down, if fans want to affect change then that's the only way. Time for action. I like Tommy as a man, I think he's a good coach, but it's over. For me it's not about people not being true fans when they stay away or vent frustrations because exactly how long do the fans who say be patient require people to do so? There must be a point when even they fade! Christmas? End Jan? When.....? -
St Mirren V Dundee United Spfl Premiership 30/8/14
Highland Saint replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Jeeez! Fairly bleak reading and whilst I wasn't there today I get the feeling that we may need to follow Roy mcgregor and take some action early, Until today I've been in the 'don't panic we have been playing well' but not a single goal and already well adrift at the bottom. But reality is the board will be stubborn as ever and hang on until it's impossible not to act -
Maybe too early to panic but the board said they needed to replace Lennon as he's taken us as far as he could But how long do u give Craig to show signs of us going to the 'next level' already adrift, total joke at home. Our team on paper is good enough to beat Dundee but the tactics and motivation today were pish - boss has to put his hands up.

St Mirren V Hamilton Academical - Wed 13Th 7:45 Ko
Highland Saint replied to TopCat's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
I take back what I said about Goodwin being a liability we really needed him. Totally not good enough tonight. Thankfully we have few weeks of August left, get some experience in. Hope tommy gets hiss ass in gear reminds me of lennons first season with the Cowdenbeath signings. Not panicking yet but worried. Hamilton are like kille, aberdeen etc a physical side. We hid away. Too much expectation on McLean and McGinn - need experience. -
Motherwell V St Mirren Spfl Premiership 9/8/13
Highland Saint replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Glad we played well, we won't be too downbeat after that. Worry like others about Goodwin, he's got to sort his discipline out now he's coach, bloody liability. I can take a sending off for two yellows for fouls, not dissent tho. He's let the side down....again.....not to mention the fact he's meant to be displaying leadership qualities and leading by example these days. -
Responses To Brian Caldwell Updates

Great to have this sort of update. Saves a lot of nonsense chat and speculation. Be nice when some new faces come in or existing ones sign up but by sounds of it - July will be the busy month for us. -
St Mirren's New Manager Is Tommy Craig
Highland Saint replied to shull's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Eh, Steve Jennings, Motherwell December 2011. Right in front of the ref and right in his stomach! A charge he admired and made a public apology for. I think you've been believing the 'I'm hard done by' stuff! -

Hope so, bit surprised though that he wasn't in the mix for something. Surely he was considered/chatted to and he either wasn't interested....? -

Yep great example to the youngsters with his record of punching opponents and general lack of dicipline. -

Penny pinching decision. Not happy with it, but then that's simply because my expectations were unrealistic and too high! If it is TC then ill get right behind him, he will tie up our best players and clearly the lads like him so all the best to him. 7 or so assistant posts and one managerial one - I'd say he must be hungry and convinced he can do a better job and to be fair he does know us well enough so all in all I'm warming to it. Welcome to the hot seat Tommy! -

Far to early for Murray and what has he done to convince the board he is a better choice than DL? Murray is still cutting his teeth, doesn't have a magnificent win ratio so whilst no one would deny he is a great young manager in the making he's only 33 and this job is too early. -
Lennon Gone - Confirmed

DL = St Mirren legend. All the best fella. Thommo/TC for me. Need it all sorted soon - contracts to offer! Think someone will be in place by Friday. -
No Decision On Danny For Now
Highland Saint replied to Murray7's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Danny Lennon is the nicest man in the game no doubt. Great interview, on balance (dodgy transfers aside of which there has bn many) I think we should give him another year -
No Decision On Danny For Now
Highland Saint replied to Murray7's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
I understand that SG assumed there would be a consensus and clarity agreed today at the meeting and made his comments because he was very confident. However, at the meeting other board members upset at both his confidence and assumptions so a clear decision was not met. Its petty, its point scoring and chest puffing but the bottom line is its not good for the club. Whatever we think of the managers performance over the past 4 years no one can say that DL hasn't always supported the club and conducted himself in a professional and resonant manner. this is his livelihood a he works in an industry wholly based on reputation and results. He deserves better from this club. I am annoyed that the Board are in disagreement on this and cannot act professionally and deal with HR matters in the confidence they deserve.
