We need someone in LB and a striker before we progress much further towards the first game of the season. Had we won today this wake up call may have happened after the window was shut. This chat about us having no money isn't true. We lost a bunch of players and some were high earners. The books broadly balance and we need to bring in 3 players at least. McLeans injury is also a blow.

Can't believe that. Carey can take a set piece better than anyone in the team by a million miles. He's a great talent albeit inconsistent - but few escape that charge this year. Just heard we made an enquiry in January for Kris Doolan of Partick. I recon he would be a good signing this summer if we lose Parkin. Obviously not the same type of player but has scored consistently once in every three games for Thistle. I guess at this moment staying with PT he is guaranteed SPL next season - but once we are nice and safe he is out of contract so is clearly open to offers.

'gutted' to be missing the game is a huge understatement - but being able to watch it from the US will help if i can, bbc website text commentary just doesnt cut it and cant get bbc....any sites anyone else overseas uses?

I dont think anyone ever buys a lottery ticket with huge confidence they will score the jackpot, but they still buy them in most cases its worth £1 investment for the 5 minute day dream about how I would spend the cash. I am signed up for this on a similar rational, its not a fantastic investment opportunity nor does it tick every single box on what is best for the club. But for the price of 45 mintues of football or a few pints per month its worth a punt without a doubt. We have been up for sale, in a great financial position for a long time now, no one wants to buy us. Its a sorry state of affairs if we the fans don't event want to buy the club. Its a bit of a risk but its one worth taking in my view with or without any assurances that we will all have a say in how the clubs run. I really hope we get the sign ups.

Kris Doolan is on DL's list for Summer signings. My boss sponsors him at Partick - recons he is definately moving to SPL and us, Killie and Inverness have enquired. He still has 1 year left on his contract, so not sure what sort of money we would be able to pay for him........he is there top scorer, I think would be a decent signing.

If were going to go down the route of Higdon/Mehmet strike force then i think were going to rely on some good quality balls into the box, something I think we really lacked last year. Before the end of Aug I think we still need: - A winger - good quality crosses into the box where we have height. - A central def - Mair looks the business but like many others I don't think potter has the command of his area that he should have. we may also still loose dorman before the end of the month, that will leave us short of creativity and attacking midfielders. But would settle for 2 more signings.
