Oh take me back to Love Street, back to my happy place
back to the ground of glory, those golden days of grace
where every cheer was thunder, where every game had thrills
and heroes lit the terraces with passion pride and skill
Take me to the north bank, to hear that wondrous roar
ten thousand voices rising loudly, and twenty thousand more
the saints go marching in would echo strong and long
a sea of black and white as one, united in their song
Take me back to 1980 Anglo Scottish cup in hand
five past Bristol City, pride was sweeping through the land
with Jackie Copland leading, standing tall and proud
a captain of true courage, saluted by the Paisley crowd
And further back to 1926 when history was first made
the Scottish cup to Love Street came and legends were displayed
with Bryceland’s strength and Lapsley’s class and Gemmell’s helping hand
they carved their names in silver bright, the pride of Saint’s great stand
And more glory Scottish cup days, when dreams would come alive
59 and 87 the Saints would still survive
Through battles fought with heart and soul through grit and sheer belief
they brought the silver home again to joy beyond relief
The legends grace my memory, their names still shining bright
like Aber, McGarvey and Stark on those electric nights
from Bryceland through to modern days, their spirit’s still the same
a tapestry of glory years that built the Saint’s great name

through every high and heartbeat, it never fades away
for though the years have moved us on, those memories remain
