  1. That is a great idea. I must have lost 4 or 5 pints since the ban came in. As a smoker, I did think that the ban was a pile of shite, but now I do actually think it's better and more pleasant in the pubs. However, can somebody please suggest a system to nightclub / pub owners and bouncers in particular, where if we go outside for a smoke, that we should be able to return to the pub no questions asked. Took me about 20 minutes to get back into Suburbia the other night, while Mrs. Herbie et al sat inside. To quote the bouncer "I don't give a f*ck if you've been in all night or if the Pope's in there waiting for you". Tosser. Also, when the summer months come, will smokers have first choice at the beer garden tables?

    New Pc

Having relied on a work's laptop for the last 5 years, I've finally got a new home PC. Only been online for 2 days so far and have already (according to the pop ups), got a shitload of spyware and stuff on my system. Can anyone (quickly!) recommend any free downloads I can use to get rid of all of this and protect it from future crap. Cheers folks.
  3. Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Glenburn Community Centre, 2003/4 Marmalade - Butlins, Ayr, 1990(ish). Carol Laula - Impromptu jam session in my mate's mum's house, 1980(ish). Bad Manners - Strathclyde Uni Union, 1994(ish). Carter USM - Livingstone somewhere, early 90's.
  4. Google says it was so it must be true. And it's Mr Vore to you.....
  5. Can't see the attraction myself.... My choice would be Vintage Adidas Superstars.
  6. Couldn't find the 1st album. Rarer than white dug shite apparently.
  7. It's good but not quite as good as the previous albums. Very samey and angst ridden as you would expect. Infra Red is excellent as is Song to Say Goodbye. 7 out of 10. Glad I've finally found another Placebo fan at last. I'm dying to see them live and I think they're playing Glasgow soon. Fancy it? (the gig that is)
  8. I think it was about 10 years ago Bill (if not longer). He was one vicious bugger. How he was never charged with assault, I'll never know. He did, however, once come very close to a boot in the nadgers from my faither, after a particularly vicious knuckle rap on the nut to yours truly.
  9. Is that any good Ally? Was going to buy it last week but bought Placebo instead. Anyhoo, 1. Placebo - Meds 2. Gang of Four - A brief history of the Twentieth Century 3. Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In love? 4. Swervedriver - Mezcal Head 5. Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks

    Quotes

Computer thicko Herbie strikes again. I know it's probably dead simple, but if you want to reply to various posts at the same time, how do you include multiple quotes?
  11. My old man went to Stanely Green with the one and only Archie Gemmell.

  14. Aye, she was getting on a bit. May even have retired while I was there. I was there from 1984-1989. Other "teachers" I recall were: Fat Mel Haggerty - "If you don't play rugger you're scum". I had a run in with him as I made a formal complaint about him having *** posters on his classroom wall. Fanny Allan the art teacher. (Our class once upset her so much she ran away sobbing into the materials cupboard and hid there till the bell went.) Mrs Carmichael (another ancient art teacher. She reported our entire class to Old Bob when we ALL made Millwall bricks out of rolled up newspapers, when we were supposed to be making papier mache sculptures) The delectable Miss McCallum (Home Economics) - Every teenage boy's wet dream. Aaaaah, them were the days.......

  16. They were absolutely huge! I remember she used to turn round from the blackboard with two chalk circles on her paps That picture of Old Bob scared me witless. Bad memories of being knuckled over the heid till a lump the size of K2 appeared. The man was a lunatic.
  17. Not a brilliant album I agree, but Step Into My World is one of the finest songs I've heard. Got listening to it again after all the Ride talk on this thread (Andy Bell was lead guitarist with both bands). Got Ride - Going Blank Again on now.
  18. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Howl Hurricane #1 - Hurricane #1 My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything Siouxie and the Banshees - Once Upon a Time Smashing Pumpkins - Machina
