Nothing like him. I had family in Stewarton and nobody had a bad word to say about him. He has always worked for communities he's lived in and is very generous. At almost every club he's played at he would buy about 50 match tickets and give them to charities so that folk without much could get to a game. Good guy by all accounts.
As is his right. I'm sure if your employer wanted to terminate your contract you would expect to be properly compensated. And I doubt many on here would show much enthusiasm during their remaining days.
I think you're wrong there as recent news stories show. They were making massive grants to firms south of the border. Unfortunately, they were awarding them mainly to fake firms and shell companies.
If you only offer short contracts you're on a hiding to nothing. If anyone who wants McGrath can convince him to sign a PCA they can bide their time and get him for nothing in four months time. I doubt we will ever be able to fund 3 or 4 year contracts let alone convince players to sign them. Sadly, these days football clubs need a Sugar Daddy and it ain't SMISA nor Kibble.
I have no axe to grind on this issue. However, it should be noted that:
There is now no statutory requirement for a private company to hold any general meetings, not even an AGM. Only listed companies or companies or where the company articles require an AGM need do so. You can even change the articles to remove the requirements with a simple resolution.
The accounts don't even need to be presented to shareholders in open forum - they just need to be posted to them.
Perhaps a request for SMISA to clarify the current articles be put to their AGM. This may help to firm up the format for next year. There is advice on GOV.UK on holding AGM's in the current panic-demic but they probably change as often as Shull changes his mind.
Hopefully this is the last time these measures will be permitted but SMISA need to get their act together. Why SMISA members continue to vent their spleen on here instead of holding their office bearers to account beats me. B&W Army can't force change only SMISA can go that, they are the major shareholder after all.
That has been kicking about for about a year. Fergie has been championing the move but the previous management were undecided. Could be a goer now?
On another topic Wigan have signed Shinnie from Derby - will they still want McGrath.
Norrie that's a rant based on pure speculation. Understandable, I know but what do you want them to say? The setup we have is that like most Premiership clubs the football side is in the hands of the MD and the Manager. They will talk when when something is happening and not before. Don't get stressed by something out of your control.
Sadly, the game has changed. When we signed these guys the Juniors was a stepping stone to the pro game but it no longer is. Even the lower leagues up here are not the rich picking grounds they once were. The Academy system has changed how young players are developed - so many get discarded in their late teens and many of them give up the game completely.
I hear we can't produce a team sheet as some of the youg guys have to home from school to have their tea first. Hope their parents don't make them do their homework before they let them back out or we're really fecked.
