  3. I'm somewhere inbetween. I'd like to like it, but It's not really hitting the spot. After the title track there is nothing startling. It's not bad, but nothing to get excited about and, for me, not a patch on the debut. Best other track IMO is "British Legion".
  4. What a jolly selection Hope you are feeling better today. To be fair, Eye To The Telescope is a fine album. For what it's worth, this week, I have been mostly listening to... 6. For what it's worth. Billy Joel isn't sh!t. He's just released a couple of sh!t songs (Uptown Girl) but has also given us some great stuff. (New York State Of Mind) Anyhoo, my latest offerings are: Amusement Parks On Fire - Out Of The Angeles. Amazing follow up to self titled debut by the Nottingham "Nu-gazers" The Style Council - Singular Adventures. Fine selection of underrated Weller work. Paulo Nutini - These Streets. Thought I'd try it as the lad is a Buddie. Not Bad. "Loving You" is excellent. We Are Scientists - With Love And Squalor. Cracking debut, not a bad song on it. New Order - Waiting For The Siren's Call. Mainly just for "Krafty"

  11. Also a cracker. The way "From out of Nowhere" kicks off the album is truly amazing and maybe one of the best opening tracks on any album!
  12. Angel Dust is perhaps their best album IMO. There are some excellent songs on there particulary Everything's Ruined and A Small Victory. I agree. Level 42 is their first album I think from 1982? Less commercial than later stuff but funktastic all the same!
  13. Cracking album. Bought this on CD a couple of years back for my wife to replace her worn out old tape. Tower Of Strength is a classic. P.S. you can now get this for under a fiver from Amazon

  15. I liked the first Duran album when I was young and hadn't played it for a while. Still thought it was good and it's amazing how much recent music has been leaning towards this kind of sound. BTW I still like most of Rio too. Might be the childhood nostalgia. I met you briefly outside the Town Hall but I had to go and you seemed to have plenty of other folk greeting you... A great day.
  16. Here is my latest selection: We Are Scientists - With Love And Squalor Duran Duran - Duran Duran Prince - 3121 Bloc Party - Silent Alarm Pretty Girls Make Graves - The New Romance
