  1. To be fair I doubt many fans came across David Jamieson in his day to day role as GM. I don't think you'd usually get an announcement from the club about staff changes that aren't directly related to what happens on the pitch.
  2. Head of Brand Management and Sales. https://www.stmirren.com/all-news/3946-ali-defoy-joins-as-head-of-brand-management-and-sales
  3. I don't think Main or Erwin are going to score bundles of goals but they are the sort of foil that a Brophy or a Dennis needs IMO. You saw that with the first goal we scored on Saturday, perfect example of two strikers working well together. Dennis is probably the most natural finisher we have (other than McGrath who seems to have ice in his veins when he's in front of goal) but Brophy is also well capable of scoring a few if he gets enough of the ball. I do like Erwin, feel he's just one of those players that the fans just don't take to for whatever reason.
  4. Someone who is good at communications and marketing can't be a bad thing, they are the two areas of the club I'd say are most in need of improving.
  5. I think Erwin has something to offer. I see him and Main competing for a start whilst Dennis and Brophy fight it out for the other striking berth. He's looked sharper in the times he's played so far this season IMO. Good to have players competing for jerseys, nobody should be garanteed a start.
  6. Just find it hard to believe that Hull would write off £1m on a player they bought just 18 months ago. The source article is quite confusing as it says they're ready to move him on then quotes the manager as saying he doesn't want him to go. Also find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be bigger clubs up here after him. And finally unless we are planning to play him as a winger I can't see how he fits in. Time will tell but I'll be very surprised if we see James Scott with the scarf aloft!
  7. Find the Scott rumour a bit hard to swallow to be honest but I’ll be delighted if we get him!
  8. Although we removed our own app from the app stores you can still download the "Tapatalk" app from either Google Play or the Apple App Store and connect to the forum using that. Our own app was just a rebranded version of Tapatalk. Part of the reason for the upgrade I did at the weekend was in preparation for hopefully launching a new app later in the year but for now Tapatalk will do the job for you if you don't want to use the mobile browser version.
  9. Interesting to see one of the journos suggesting that the relationship between the club and Renfrewshire Council is not particularly healthy right now. No reasons given why that might be but the inference is that the Council are quite happy to stiff us on the capacity issue. I did have some sympathy over the restrictions but having seen the crowd at Fir Park yesterday with large groups all sitting or standing side by side with no masks in sight it's very difficult to comprehend why we are being served such severe restrictions other than it being for petty political point scoring.
  10. Tapatalk issue has been resolved 👍🏼
  11. Rosalind ran the catering kiosks around the stadium for many years.
  12. Rosalind was in touch with me yesterday and asked if I could post this message to Saints fans, one she wrote back in January of this year. Was supposed to be posted on the club site but for whatever reason that hasn't happened yet so she wanted to get this out to her fellow supporters ahead of the new season. To Saint Mirren FC, their staff and my fellow supporters. As a lifelong fan and supporter of Saint Mirren FC, I would like to say that it has been an honour and privilege to have served the fans and the club for over thirty years. Serving my fellow supporters was one of the greatest opportunities I have had in my life. There have been some great times and some very challenging times but being in the position to both serve my fellow supporters and being able to watch my team playing on match days I can say that the great times have outweighed the challenging times. Now that I am a grandmother to two adorable boys with a third grandson on the way I have arrived at the view that it is now time for me to be with my family and have therefore decided not to extend the contract. I would like to thank my incredible staff and family who have worked tirelessly both behind the scenes and in the kiosks to serve the fans on match days. Their commitment and energy made an incredible difference when things were tough. I would also like to thank Saint Mirren staff and Board of Directors both past and present for their valued support. I am now looking forward to attending the games as a fan and enjoying your company in the supporters bar and in the stand on match day Update: Grandson No 3 has arrived and is doing well. COYS Rosalind Carr
  13. Here's my summary of the accounts, think this is pretty accurate; We made a profit of £130K in the year ended to 31st May 2020 before tax. Previous year we made £100K profit. Our turnover was £4.068m, which was very slightly down from £4.11m the previous year. Our wage bill was £4.1m down from £4.5m the previous year. We brought in transfer fees of £372K which I assume was Paul McGinn fee plus a share of John McGinn windfall Hibs got when Villa were promoted? We sold Kyle Magennis for £200K. That figure is not included in these accounts as was received after the financial period being reported but is included as a significant event that has happened since. Club had £1.4m in the bank at end of May. Previous year this was £690K. The accounts period obviously only includes a small portion of the period affected by COVID, March through to end of May. Still there was zero gate revenue during that period so it's pretty encouraging that we still reported a profit. Gate receipts were down from £1.5m to £1.37m as a result. Prize money from the SPFL was £1.58m up from £1.39m the year before, on account of us finishing higher in the league. Commercial income was also down about £95K presumably due to lack of Hospitality revenue lost through games that didn't happen.

  15. An early heads up about the derby game. The Morton game next Wednesday in the Betfred will, I assume, not be on the season ticket. Since the game is being shown live on Premier Sports, the club will not be able to offer it on a PPV basis to either home or away fans in the UK. So even season ticket holders in the UK will have no other way of watching it, legally, other than via Premier Sports. It's possible to add Premier Sports to an existing SKY package, or to watch it via their app, with no commitment over and above a month which is priced at £11.99, roughly the same as you'd expect to have paid for PPV via Saints. The good news though is that if you use the discount code SALE when signing up to Premier Sports you get 50% off so it's just £5.99. I've never had a problem cancelling within the month before with Premier Sports, just need to email [email protected] and tell them you want to cancel and they sort it for you without quibble. International based Buds will still be able to watch the game on St.Mirren TV.
  16. Yip, a reasonable view. It would be catastrophic for us if we have to forfeit either of those games, and even a big fine would have far reaching consequences at any time, let along right now. Hopefully the club can put up a very robust defence if indeed we are cited. Maybe these lads will help us do just that.
  17. If the club has done nothing wrong I'll be delighted. We will find out soon enough.
  18. Ha! Just pointing out the bleedin' obvious mate! Given the clubs reaction to some no-mark coach on the radio spouting random shite that wasn't even directly aimed at us last week I'd have expected us to come out all guns blazing about that article that appeared in the Daily Mail this weekend which made some extremely serious allegations of wrong doing at the club. Instead we get this. It looks very much to me like we're holding our hands up and trying to mitigate the punishment that is coming our way. As the old saying goes, shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.
  19. Good to see these appointments, however if you put two and two together you could easily assume this is us admitting we've fucked up somewhere along the way. I sincerely hope not but that's what it looks like!
  20. So very sad to read of the sudden passing of Steve Rowan last week. Steve of course was the producer behind the excellent "Love Street The Movie" DVD that was published to celebrate our time at the old stadium. The follow on piece to that film, featuring the last ever game at Love Street and Steve interviewing supporters and ex-players is on YouTube but the actual film itself is not. So, inspired by my good friend @Yflab and for everyone to enjoy who has not seen it, here is the full film. Rest in peace Steve.
  21. Interesting to see what happens to Killie if they are found guilty as seems very likely. Aberdeen and Celtic both got off with fines, however the rules were tightened after those incidents and clubs were well warned. A forfeit of 3-0 is a possibility, as it will be for us if we are also found to have breached protocols leading to last weeks postponement. Aberdeen actually won their re-arranged game so it would create a bit of a stink if forfeit is the route they take!
  22. I must confess I haven't actually listened to the podcast, only went by the comments I saw attributed to him in the press. In those he said the system was open to abuse. He didn't actually say that we had abused it. He's a fanny, I'm just surprised he managed to rile so many people!
  23. I don't know what has changed but something definitely has. The Magennis announcement(s) were crazy. The first was completely un-necessary, and the second which was just an embarrassment. Then this, which clearly wasn't written by Tony. With all due respect it's just not his sort of language. The weekly updates through the first COVID lockdown were pretty good and well written but the stuff of late has been tripe. IMO.
  24. Yeah I get that it's very hard at the moment but it would be nice to have a more positive update from the club - about anything at all! The Chairman's updates were a welcome addition - but we haven't had one of those since 10th March.
  25. The comments that Maurice Ross made were ridiculous, but I'm not sure it merited such a public response from us. A quick phone call to Motherwell to make our point would have sufficed IMHO. Who really cares what Maurice Ross thinks anyway? The communication coming out from the club recently has been pretty dire.
