ScotstounSaint got a reaction from south_seas_saint in Celtic v St Mirren - 23rd January 2019 (with thanks to Eric Arthur Blair)
March aye, buy 2020 at the earliest. Time for a bit of stability and to let someone build some foundations. -

A reality check is needed by some on here. Our season wont be defined by Celtic at Parkhead.

He's a defender being played out of position in midfield hence his lack of final ball etc. He's steady enough but needs to be used in his correct role.

Yeah, let's apologise to a guy banned from football for calling another player a "golly", because some were a bit cheeky. Should never have been allowed anywhere near the club. As for "done the club a favour".....lol.

Sounds like excuses to me, in order placate the green bigot hordes that are crying into their Buckfast after such a hiding.

Thing is, we've got him signed up for another two years after this season. I want him to do well down there so we can at least get a small fee for him.
Yeah, he used the wrong words in that interview, but we still need him to perform.

Another great result for smart-arse Heaton tonight. Beaten by the mighty Spennymoor Town.

Express are usually quite good with St Mirren stuff. Cammy did great for us last season but he's definitely a yard short of pace to play the same role in the top league !

Think he’s proved you wrong in the last two games he hasn’t deserved to be on the losing side was our best player by some distance imo -

He's been proving you wrong almost every single week.
Lack of ability to watch a football match from some posters on here is incredible.

ScotstounSaint reacted to Liverpool Bud in Stick or twist in January?
Surely this is exactly the kind of key decision that Gus should be planning for ?
id be keen to know if his scouting / contacts or influence and what quality potential signings he has lined up so Oran and the team will reap the benefits and justify his wage !

To me, this is the worrying statistic.
Over the last 9 games; 10 points lost after being in a winning position, 0 points gained after being in a losing position.

I believe the last league game in which we took at least a point after being behind was when we beat Queen of the South just before Christmas last year.
It's a worrying run, although in fairness there were few games in the second half of last season when we were behind. -

No failures today. For me very unexpected but hopefully the start of a revival. Biggest thing I noticed was desire and fitness improved exponentially. How, I'm not sure, but I don't care, it was great. A lot of that team had their best game in the stripes. Epotimised for me by the lung burster from Hodson in injury time, fab. Anyway, new goalie clean sheet. Is he any good? We still don't know, not a save to be made but seems a calm enough character. CH duo cool as a cucumber, excellent. Full backs top marks. P McGinn sublime at RH. McShane dig and desire not seen before, S McGinn snapping and snarling in to everything. Magennis well, just Magennis. Up top Simeon worked his socks off and the undoubtedly talented Hamill burst his hoop for the cause as well as backing up his YouTube montage with another worldie. 2 subs introduced at the right time and had the right impact. If Carling did Saturday's..... -
ScotstounSaint reacted to HSS in Samson to Sunderland
If Saints had knocked Sammy back to go just now he would have been VERY unhappy. You can't have unhappy players in your team.
It all seems a bit strange to me with Sammy "retiring".Obviously I don't know the details of the deal but if all we are getting is a friendly then we've been shafted.
Good luck to Sammy in the future,he's more than done a job for us.

Far from a lack of respect they have a family to provide for and a job to do.
It couldn’t have been done at end of the season Sunderland need a gk coach as they have just lost their current one to Ipswich they spoke with the club about holding it off till January but ST MIRREN decided it was best for all if he made the immediate move.
Not about his family starving it’s about providing the best possible life and future for them.
Money is in every walk of life not just football.
No one said you need to like it, I don’t but you need to accept it maybe just no be as bitter about it.
Accept the good he’s done for the club and wish him all the best.
Football goes on I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t care if we were to punt him for a better gk in January or even the summer it works both ways.

A buddie legend you can also pick up his passion for the club in his interviews. Have seen some brilliant save not just the penalty's. If it was not for Mr Samson we would not have won the League Cup. Whatever Samson choose he will get my thumbs up.

Mate grow up. He’s anything but a snake one of the nicest guys we will ever have at our club.
More important things in life than football.
A better income for him and his family plus also a new start in a future career for him.
What if he knocked it back then we punt him next year as he’s coming towards the end of his career we already have langfield as coach so he could easily end up back in part time football as a coach it’s an absolute no brainier of a decision for him and his family.
