Div put up a very well balanced comment and caveated his response with the system having much more capability than we’ll initially use it for & that he’s sure it’s been thought out. It’s always good practice to test a system & not go 0 to 60 reliance with its capability.

Your last sentence in the third paragraph is where the main problem in that point sits.

correct not negative not moaning just an opinion & not a claim they haven’t followed process. very fair.

Baz, I pay my SMISA subs in order to facilitate the purchase of the club, and make small positive contributions to the club and community through the 2 pound spend.

    Thats it, nothing more.

What is the additional work we will be doing that requires this additional capability? Is the role of SMISA changing somehow?

I don't recall being consulted on it, as I don't recall being consulted on 7k being spent this year.

  2. John McGlynn undermining and intimidating a volunteer interviewer from his own club's media department!

I wonder how much longer before these dinosaurs are cleared out of football.

Jack Ross & Jim Goodwin examples of managers that understand, everybody around a football club deserves to be treated with respect. Fear doesn't work as a long term motivational tool, and thats why McGlynn will be joining the likes of Alex Rae on the managerial scrapheap soon enough.

Yep best St Mirren manager in the last 30 years. Best football played, best players (Thompson, Teale, Goncalves, Dummett, Carey, McGowan, McLean, McGinn and the list goes on) Best league finish, Cup winners.

At times we were a joy to watch. Always remember the first few games of his 2nd season when all the big names signed. Dunfermline away we played like Brazil and somehow drew. The 2nd game though was just about the best I've ever seen us play. Absolutely steam rollered aberdeen at home playing barca style passing. Ended 1-0 but was going on 5. Hasselbaink was exceptional. Then we all travelled up to tannadice in week 3 and for the first 30-40 mins we were doing exactly the same to them as we did to aberdeen. Big Thommo scored then hasselbaink was clean through to make it 2-0 but instead got sent off for holding off the chasing defender! I remember after that game thinking for the first time in my life I'm going to see us do something special in the premier league.

Craig Paterson on the radio said that day if we kept playing like that we'd finish top 6 no problem, maybe even top 4! We lost momentum after that with nigel suspended for 2 games at a point he was tearing defences apart but there were glimpses throughout that season of how special that team couldve been not least the day we drew at ibrox scoring a magnificent team goal that started with Sampson and ended with Thommo sliding in van zantens cross and all pundits were saying we should've won. But not to worry we stayed up comfortably and the following season wee danny guided us to league cup glory!

Hope he gets a bigger job from the recent publicity. He deserves it.

Yep, it was a magnificent start to the season and in those games we didn't pick up the points we deserved.

We won the League Cup but there is no doubt our final league positions with that squad wasn't good enough. There was obviously a motivation issue after the League Cup win. I feel Lennon never really had an assistant and coaching team that had his back. He was maybe a bit too "nice" for managing that dressing room. He could have done with an assistant with qualities that complimented his own, rather than Craig who didn't really seem to be the full shilling.

He is doing well now, and I would expect to see him back full time at a Falkirk or Partick Thistle soon.

Indeed, this little run out for him has been an excellent piece of PR! Probably smarter than he looks is Old Danny!

So what you're saying, basically I'm stuffed whichever way I turn...………… I must start watching porn more often then as it might change my advert content to a more interesting slant if that is the case! 🤣

See the link to the adblocker I posted above. It will make your internet browsing considerably more pleasant, including blocking video ads when watching clips from youtube.

  5. How does Bazil find the time to become an expert in so many subjects?

I use a pretty decent CRM tool, it includes an effective mass email system and can integrate with a reliable polling app. It would cost 25 quid per month for what SMISA needs.

This looks very nice with all the bells and whistles, but it hardly seems necessary.

I suppose if what they’re saying is true regarding the saved admin hours & need to hire someone PT it makes good business sense.

There is much cheaper software out there to manage a database of 1200 people.

And this is your best contribution to a Match Winning thread? Attacking saints fans, trying to set them against each other?

you seriously need to find a life pal, because the bitterness you reapeat time after time on here is frankly quite embarrassing for you! Tell you what why not meet up as two human beings over a pint, and you can spill your hate in person? I'll even buy the First one.

Have you extended this most tempting offer to Gordon Scott?

Time will tell, if you classify the dundee game last season as a 'smash & grab'... then how do you classify having HALF the possession Aberdeen had yesterday? I hope we are/become hard to beat in most games, but we will only know that when we play those games!

it would put alot of undue pressure on Goody and the team if we were to now expect them to beat everyone from Aberdeen down in the league table. There will be crushing lows as well as hopefully many highs? We just need to be realistic in our expectations, and keep things ticking along on an even a keel as possible. That will build stability, solidity and results.

You are absolutely seething that you have nothing to moan about this week.

Are you so tactically clueless that you think Aberdeen having more possession matters in the slightest?

Cheer up and enjoy the win ffs.

  9. To answer the question; it's not.

Having said that we could have held on to the ball much more in the second half. Goodwin said this after the match as well. One thing is surrendering possession, another is getting pinned back. This happened when Durmus and Obika tired and we had no out ball. Things changed again when McAllister came on and we could really run at them.

I agree we should be good to watch this season.

  10. Very enjoyable day!

As some others have said, I had almost forgotten what it was like to see Saints attacking effectively with a plan and purpose.

Goodwin said the goal was the exact type of thing they had been working on in training. Great to hear.

Hope they keep working on the decision making in the final third. We had chances to get that 2nd goal and really should have taken at least one of them. Hopefully the missed opportunities decrease and goals increase as the weeks go on!

f**k Alex Rae and f**k Tom English!

You obviously have an interest in St Mirren or you would not be on the forum.

I don't know why these tubes come on here to spout their negative drivel and then claim they don't even care about St Mirren any more. If you can't even motivate yourself to go to games then why would spend hours posting on a St Mirren forum??

Hope he enjoys his day in his 20 pound a month mans sauna though

Think you would find a large percentage of season tickets holders would not bother with a season ticket if they had to turn uP early to get a decent seat.

It is worth doing a bit of market research on imo. Main Stand seats could be allocated, West Stand free seating.

As BtB alludes to above the atmosphere in the West Stand away from W7 is usually poor. It is a shame because when everyone can sit where they want away from home the same people make a great noise. It would also mean season ticket holders could easily bring friends along and sit together.

Do West Stand season ticketers care more about their reserved seat or the atmosphere and helping the team? I don't know - would be worth asking them.

Well T&Cs for fans can be changed - see the Family Stand :zipit so I disagree with couldn't.

My point remains that from where I sit I can't see W7, rarely hear them and that they don't contribute as much to the match experience as they would like to think.

@Kemp who made pretty much the same point - I hear ya! :spud5

I hear the Panda Club is getting a drum this season. You should hear that loud and clear in W1, which should cheer you up.
