  1. The lower leagues would not be a disaster - though i think we can just about make it over the line. Another optimist. Some of my best football memories were in the lower leagues - seem to remember fans smiling in those days - even Big Ben!!
  2. Think we were all very optimistic. Lets hope the teams around us remain in the same position as us for the remainder of the season. Though, still got Thistle to go!! COYS
  3. If you have ever considered becoming a referee then this is the perfect time to give it a go! The next training class will begin in January, and will run every Wednesday for 11 weeks. The class is now held at the University of the West of Scotland Paisley Campus PA1 2BE
  4. I would have been more optimistic with a Killie win, however with a double trip north an in form Dons and united team then it will be, in my opinion, a scrap for points between us and thistle and a revengeful/hurt dundee. i am thinking 3/5 points if we are lucky - unless we get a wee rub of the green (as jimmy Bone used to call it).
  5. Looking a bit more promising than first thought......hopefully get a few extra points in January COYS.
  6. I note that there is a heavy fixture list for January - I believe points from these games shall prove important in determining the rest of our season, however how many points shall we take? Saints v Killie (1st) Caley v Saints (4th) Saints v Dons (10th) County v Saints (17) Saints v Dun Utd (21st) Saints v Dun (24th) Thistle v Saints (31st)
  7. I am invovled in Langcraigs FC - I do not have a contact for the university, however may have a person who knows a person. I will get back to you with information. Im guessing you are talking around April/May time?
  8. I would be happy to help you source out games. I am involved in a local club and we have teams at the age groups that you highlight - i also have contact thruoghout the district having been invovled in the running of the league. Accommodation may be an option at the University Campus, the Lapwing lodge or through the guides association as they have a lodge in Kilmalcolm area. Alternatively, loads of hotel options that you will be aware of.
  9. If this was to happen at the racecourse there would be an outrage. The player would be in front of the beaks and a hefty ban would be made, possibly putting the player out of the game for good. Shoud be the same process, regardless of the footballing level. This was watched by many viewers, some young and we need to send out a clear message. Pity though, he was having a good tournament.
  10. Sunderland to draw in the 90th minute 10/1 - that will do nicely (£5.00 stake).
  11. Works in a local children's home and think he is still has an interest in a johnstone pub
  12. A red card can only be provided on the field of play - the game is ended once the players and officials leave the field of play (technically a red card could be shown on the park and after the final whistle has sounded). The talk of a second red card is normally in respect of the actual offence committed and can be subject to a referee report. The referee would normally advise the player of the referral, but no actual card would be shown if it happened directly after the game (off field). If in the car park the ref would need to decide if he was going to make comment, however in general not advisable to inflame the situation, though this event could appear in a referee report and could be subject to sanctions that would be similar to an offence committed such as an on field red.
