Can't see why his having shares in Morton, a club in a different league, would have any significance ScottD. His assistant is a more difficult question for me. Two sides to this I think. One is that everybody deserves a second chance and to show that they have reformed. The other is that his past would be a millstone for the club.
Having one or two shares is fair enough but Hopkin is one of the top 5 shareholders at Morton. If that is not a major conflict of interest then I don’t know what is. Being in a different league, for now, has no bearing. Gordon Scott wouldn’t be allowed to have shares in another club and I don’t think the team manager should have either.
-
If the club are interested in Hopkin then there are areas that need clarified. Namely what about his Morton shares, is he prepared to sell those? What about his assistant? Will he want to bring him with him, a shady character by all accounts. Oh, and he better not want to sign Alan ‘Flash’ Lithgow.

So I fluked it by suggesting either Leeds or Sunderland rather than Ipswich.
Having said that I'm not convinced he will be successful there but wish him well.
If the move "gang aft agley' I'm sure he'll easily return to Scotland and be snapped up.
Coleman was an excellent manager so he has big shoes to fill, but JR might just do it.
He is forever etched in the honour roll at SMFC.
Coleman may have been an excellent manager elsewhere but certainly not at Sunderland.

Everyone knows the rules before the season starts.

Ahem - no-one has wanted Ross yet either.
Great. That means he’ll be staying put.

Of course one guaranteed way to ‘end this farce’ would be to go back to appointing another 30 years + of duff managers that no other team wants and end up costing a packet to get rid of.
-
Totally deserved for Livingston. By far the better team over the two legs. Livi will be nobody’s fools in the Premier next season.

Get Jim Goodwin unveiled as the new Manager of St Mirren Football Club tomorrow.
It makes sense to me.
Got to be Goody.
Don’t think you’ve thought this through. We’d need to terminate JR’s contract which has 2 years to run which would cost a bit of money, then add to that paying Alloa compensation for Goody. For someone so tight with money you seem to have no issue with spending other peoples.

Rigor Mortis Murray. About as inspiring as a bucket of cold puke.

Unusual to have neither father present at their children’s wedding.

5469 in attendance at the Pasta Bowl. Whether you like the play offs or not they bring out the crowds.

Last 16 games taking place on a Saturday, very strange.

Back to day shifts at the aeroplane engine place. Him and Jimmy Durante surely pack it in now. Tbh they were absolutely pish todayFor the sake of Dumbarton’s fans you would hope so. They were brutal today and just as bad in the first leg.

What now for Stephen Aitken? Credibility now in tatters.

Great strike by Jordan Kirkpatrick.

No brainer who would bring the most fans where would we take the most fans. Answers on a post card boys and girls.
Short term thinking. Surely be better to stay in the Premier long term rather than have Thistle bring a few more fans than Livi for one season?

That's a fair point but keep in mind there was no Hibs and nearly all of us scored 12/12 against Brechin, and Dumbarton didn't even hit the points tally Ayr United went down with.
Dundee United's capitulation after New Year is not something I imagine would have happened under Ray. He was sacked when there was a 5pt gap, but with a game in hand so it was potentially a 2Pt gap - nothing in October (or whenever it is). I feel his sacking was unjust and his replacement completely useless. Not that I'm complaining because it did us a massive favour!
When McKinnon was sacked United had 17 points from 10 games, scaled up over 36 games that would give you 61 points which is what they finished with. We saw how good McKinnon’sUnited were when we pumped them 3-0.

Ipswich is as good a job as any if Jack wants to dip his toes in the shark infested waters of English football management. They have a good record of giving managers time unlike a lot of clubs down there.

Agreed. I have a major dislike for our ten team leagues offering promotion to 3rd and 4th placed sides.
Excellent to see Willo Fud and co crashing out. May their pain continue. I'm still adamant that if they kept Ray McKinnon they'd have either won the league or succeeded in the playoffs.
More decisive games tomorrow. Peterhead v Stenhousemuir in the battle for promotion to League One, Stenny take a 2-0 lead up north. Cowdenbeath are defending their L2 place against Highland champions Cove Rangers. The first leg was 0-0 in Cove.
Don’t agree about McKinnon. United actually got 4 more points in this chaotic season than they managed last season.

Congratulations Livi.
Delighted to see Arabs lose out!
Hopefully Livi will beat Ross County in a play off.
Keeps Thistle up for good crowds.
Gets rid of County for the journey and lack of support.
Lets Livi up to make sure there is a team we are guaranteed to finish above! If County are in the play off then Thistle will have been automatically relegated by finishing bottom. Only 1 out of Livi, Thistle and County will be in the Premier next season.

I’d imagine the Killie match would be selected for TV similar to the Partick game last season.
