I think when you get involved with any organisation surrounding the football club you have to expect to get shot at.
I was quite taken aback as to what happened during the 10000Hours bid, and I only got about 1% of the abuse that the likes of Richard took.
The guys at SMiSA, The Disabled Supporters Association and at the Fans Council are all giving up their own time to try their level best at making the club better. Like everyone else, they will make mistakes sometimes and do things that individuals won't like.
You'll never get all fans to agree on anything (apart from perhaps the sacking of Tommy Craig) but as long as the people making the decisions in these organisations are thinking things through and still aiming to do their best for the club then they'll always get my support.
Same as the people who run the supporters buses, same as the people who try and introduce atmosphere at the ground.
These people are all trying to do their best for the club and they're doing it for no reward.
I'd definitely like to see all the organisations work together more, I'm sure they could all learn from each other.

Cannot believe I am reading some of this.
    1. Chic did not say the ush was not used - fact
    2. Tommy did not tell Chic the ush was not on - fact
    3. Clearly due to the pitch being soft, the ush was clearly on and working - fact
    4. I spoke to a player who told me the ush was turned off pre match - what player, name names - crap
You now have an employee of our club disgusted by the thoughts of some of his own fans, a winner of the groundsman of the year, a trusted and experienced employee who knows his job better than all of us, the producer of the best pitch in the country, a title confirmed by the majority of players in Scotland.
    Just pathetic.
A great effort was made by many people to try and ensure the match was played on Saturday, regrettably the worst fall of snow seen for some while defeated these efforts, nobody was at fault, just nature won.
Some on this forum should take a good look at themselves.
    You know who you are!

Scratch For Saints - scratch cards
A few facts - this initiative was created by the Fans Council in order that more regular funds could be raised to support the club and the initiatives generated by saints supporters . The initial printing of the cards was financed by Sports Catering ( the Pie and Bovril stands) who have sponsorship on the back of every card
40% of all revenue is paid out on Winnings.
Any business who sells the card retains a profit with the balance going to the Scratch card project fund.
The 1st identified use of the fund is for a set of goals for the youth team.
Future uses will be identified and supporters will be given the opportunity to vote to decide which is more popular
You have to be over 16 to sell them and buy them
All sellers to date have been volunteers from the Fanscouncil and are all over 16
Full time sellers roles were advertised on St.mirren websites and social media but as yet they have not commenced
The funds from scratch cards are NOT funding the build of the supporters club - this was funded by the founder fees and the football club .
The reason that buses were approached was to provide an additional source of funding for the bus ( the same profit /commission is retained as the supporting local businesses)
So in summary the initiative has been designed by supporters for supporters
So You will be supporting your business , your bus , your club ,your team if/when you buy a Sratch for Saints card
    COYS Supporters !

Having worked with Brian on many occasions over the last 5 years or so and with working with the Fans Council I can only express my sincere thanks to Brian. Getting to know Brian over the years was a pleasure and I have always enjoyed doing the odd wee jobs for him from working on bringing the club's shareholders register up to date to looking for players to finding opponents for friendlies, he always has time and even helped me on personal stuff. Whilst working with Brian you get to know how much work he does trying to get a word with him was the hardest job of all but he always got back too you. I will certainly miss him when I go down to the club. And for him, I can only wish him all the best in his new job and I know he will work as hard for them. But I can tell you this former Ayr Utd man has a very large part of St Mirren in his heart. All the best Brian from me and thanks for everything that you have done for SMFC

Buddie cat, I see you're at it again having a go at the fans council talking about things you do not have a clue about. The company that we are dealing with allow you to select the ratio of winners in our case 1 in 25 will be a winner. They then supply these tickets as a fixed number of losing tickets and the correct amount of winning tickets in the values that you requested. On a Thursday night recently members of the Fans Council counted 24 losing tickets and placed 1 winning ticket in each pile, total tickets 15,000. This pile of 25 cards were then mixed up. I'm sorry but if a fans council members buys a ticket he/she like anyone else has got the same 1 in 25 chance as every other fan of winning. We really object to you intimating that everything we do is fixed or for our own benefit. We do this because we think it's what the fans want. If you don't like it have a conversation with us instead of hiding on a forum. You seem to enjoy what we do as you keep appearing at functions! You do not see FC members on the forum slagging of Smisa, maybe you should take a leaf out of our book. I do not intend to get into any argument on this forum and give the above as actual fact!

TT, myself and colleagues from the fans council arranged today's treat for the Veterans. They along with the 4th Paras had soup/sandwiches/ Tea/ Coffee and Cakes. Half time hot drinks were provide too. And at full time they were all invited in for a wee dram and a bottle of beer. They all had a great time. This was all done with the full help on the the following SMFC, Brian Caldwell, Sally Mcdonald, Rosalind Carr, 4th Para, Michael Kerr (piper) Allan Picken. It was a pleasure in organising this event. One of the Veterans was a season ticket holder until recently when ill health forced him to give it up.
