Our young players sadly won't score the goals we need for a successful season. I think that without a doubt Danny will be trying to sign a new forward. Just saw Allan Johnston saying they expect to add a few yes a few more. Wtf. We must be in a similar position I mean I can see two new players

Will take any proven spl player as we at present have 1 striker which for any spl team is not enough. Novo would only have to score some goals and he would be accepted

FFS did you see the Hibs score last night? How you can come up with this when we have not kicked a competitive ball is mind boggling. You have not seen the Killie team other than to laud Boyd who is not the player he once was, Aberdeen's new recruitment have not yet been tested but did lose to Peterhead, Motherwell have lost Higdon their main goal scorer but should be ok with McFadden on board, Dundee Utd have a lot of new players untested while ICT and Ross County have lost some of their star players.
You may be right and we do not reach the top 6; personally, as long as we are not involved in a relegation battle then that will do for me. We are a club in transition like many in Scotland and it will take time to bring the young boys through and determine if they are good enough at this level. There is a benefit to being in the top 6 re a bigger part of the overall money pot. Other than that, it counts for nothing unless you win the league or get a short stint in Europe - and we can all see what this has done to Hibs.
Why don't we all dry out knickers and wait to see a)what further players are coming in (if any) and just how good the other teams are with their new
additions. At this time, I would rather be where St Mirren are in terms of taking forward our club and managing our finances than many of the other clubs and particularly Hibs. God only knows how you get over that level of mauling?

with our current sqaud we will not be anywhere near the top six. As much as we kid ourselves on we are much weaker and lacking in depth. The odds are that Partick , Hearts and ourselves will contest the relegation dogfight. The bookies seldom get things badly wrong. 1 striker on the books and 1 week to go? sorry but Danny said he had identified targets and would try to get them in. It has not happened so im afraid the bookies will prob be right.

Of course we need two. Guy and Parkin were challenging albeit poorly last year but they kept Thompson sharp. This year we have 1 striker and with so little time left it appears we will rush through a couple of loans and then it will all be sorted right? I like the occasional loan but would rather have more players signed as ours

Hibs have not replaced Griffiths or Doyle and Killie will be going with youth. Dundee Utd have lost their best players yet you exclude them from any battle to stay up - why? Peterhead beat a supposedly stronger Aberdeen side 3-2 so does that imply that Aberdeen are going to struggle this season? It was a friendly like ours. Celtic lost 6 against a poor German side in a friendly so what does that tell you about how they will fare in the SPl this season? They will win the league in a canter and that friendly matches are all about fitness and trying new things out.
Dundee united who are paying 5500 pounds per week on David goodwillie or who signed two players from tottenhams academy or who have just signed an under 20 Turkish international and who have also said that they will bring in another three? My source is jim spence. Killie signed Barr and will get Boyd no doubt and hibs added Tudor jones and vine whilst seem set to sign a boy from Swindon for 200k. Lets face it ourselves , thistle and hearts are going to struggle with no investment! I cannot believe our squad size with 8 days to go. Thompson up front himself?

1 striker on the books with 9 days to the start of the season. Total joke. What partnership is going to gel in that time? I suspect I will get told but the window doesn't shut till aug 31 yes but how many teams are settling their players in now. I'm afraid I think thistle hearts and us are in for one hell of a battle this year. If we sign quality then we can avoid this but I think it should have been done early. Danny told us in may he has long term targets and with so many loses in the player dept we are crying out for fresh faces

problem is .lennon has convinced himself ,cheesey is good and Goodwin is a centre half ,he much watch games with his eyes closed because these two are the reason we are shipping goals for fun ,anything through the middle is causing us major problems add in McGregor and its not looking good

Pre-season friendlies should all be behind closed doors and no paying public. It's the same old bollocks every season. You pay a tenner to see us get pumped by Morton, or folk travel down to see us get pumped by Queens of the Stone Age, and before the season has even started, you're pissed off about our prospects. I've got a ticket for the Newcastle game simply because it's my English team. If it had been, let's say, MK Dons or Swindon, I wouldn't be anywhere near it.
If we get pumped 4-2 at Inverness - that's the time to start worrying.
Do you think we have any chance in Inverness with the current team? I think a small chance but this will depend on us having all our tiny squad fit. Really is a disgrace that after winning the cup and getting some good cash we have a much worse squad in numbers and competition for places. Piss poor from saints

Aberdeen have made some good signings and have a much smaller budget than you imagine. Inverness several new signings and they had a good season so no reason to imagine tel wont have done his homework. Adams at Ross c has added as have Motherwell who have James and McManus as well as an older keeper. I think hibs have offered 200k for a striker and have added Thomson and vine who is proven in spl at least. St.johnstone have Wotherspoon a top under 21 . Ok so hearts are grubbed and Patrick are struggling and then there is us who apart from harkins have brought in boys to replace the many players we allowed to leave. I can't get the logic in letting them all go ? If he can't replace them then why shaft yourself for cover.Aye that will help Danny and the club by withdrawing much needed resources. Being a fan means supporting your team through thick and thin. What would you think if we all refused to pay our hard earned cash and we went belly up? We are not being taken for a bunch of mugs. The club have limited finances and made it clear that we would not go down the route of overspending and bringing us to the brink where we were before SG came on board. This is a tough time for virtually all clubs in Scotland and the aim should be to ensure we have a club in existence and not going through what other clubs have recently had to do. Why don't you wait until our full squad is known and rid yourself of the ridiculous statement of withdrawing your money. That, of course, is your choice and you are free to stay away from the club if you feel that staying away will help us bring on board more players.
Btw, most of the the SPL clubs have brought in journeymen and not one of them I would consider a class - other than perhaps McFadden at Murderwell who took a pay cut. Name me one other 'big' signing made by any of the SPL clubs? I think we will be fine when a few loan deals are concluded.

So one left back and one striker will do. It will not happen but to really compete we need more competition for places. Last yr we had three strikers and Imrie who could play up front. This year we have Thompson as Reilly will not lead the line fact

Even when fit Barron doesn't fit into lennons way of playing. Danny places an emphasis on passing the ball and sadly Barron can't . He won't be around much longer I'd imagine
